HID without the stock option? I did not get the HID headlights from the factory. however I hate the stock headlights and want HID's. So should i just buy the HID wiring and bulbs to buy with these?

2010gt1

  • Factory HIDs and aftermarket HIDs are actually slightly different in how they attach. Therefore, these headlights are only compatible with 10-12 Mustangs equipped with Factory HID. You could install HIDs in the same style headlights intended for Mustangs withour Factory HID. I've attached the link below for you to take a look. Hope this helps!

When are the Halos on? Most of the pics I see are with the halo portion and parking light on, but not the headlight portion itself. Is this halo/parking light configuration a daytime/all-the-time running configuration? If not is that possible to do? Otherwise I assume the only time you would get that really awesome look of your halos being on would be if you manually turned your headlight knob to "parking lights"? Thanks!

WordySanchez

  • The halos are connected to the running lights' power source. Whenever the running lights are on, the halos are on. Yes, if you'd like them to be on all the time while driving, you can switch your headlight options dial to driving lights. If you are on automatic lights, they will only be on if the sensor says if it is dark enough outside to be active.

Do these headlight have better visibility at night than the stock headlights?

234Kobe

  • Yes! This headlight kit uses your factory HID's so the projected light is still the same. Plus, these lights look so much better and give your mustang a more intimidating look. The Halo's and LED's look great as well.

I have factory HID's but honestly don't love the look. These are super cool looking but are they comparable to, brighter than or dimmer than the factory HID's? I changed my car order to a Pony Package specifically to get the HID's because I live in the middle of the woods and wildlife on the roads is quite prevalent and wanted the brightest light source possible. Would hate to swap them out and then find they aren't as bright as what I have now.

CherieBella

  • The Raxiom Smoked Projector Headlights - CCFL Halo (10-12 GT, V6 with Factory HID) are going to be very bright because of the HIDs. But these are smoked, so your visibility may not be as great as it can be. Since vision is a concern, I recommend the Raxiom Black Projector Headlights - CCFL Halo (10-12 GT, V6), item # 101685, (http://www.americanmuscle.com/headlight-black-projector-1012-stan.html). These headlights have an aggressive look because of the black housing, while having a clear lens for perfect visibility.

Question Resolved

what is the differance between 101686 49108 raxion black projector hid lights

frick

  • The Raxiom Black Projector Headlights - CCFL Halo (10-12 GT, V6 with Factory HID) and the Raxiom Smoked Projector Headlights - CCFL Halo (10-12 GT, V6 with Factory HID) Are the exact same headlight, with one key difference: the lens. Anything listed as a "black headlight" will have the housing coated with a black finish and a clear lens. Anything listed as a "smoked headlight" will be exactly the same as a black headlight, except the lens will be tinted.

    Easy Install and Beautiful Lighting

I absolutely love this headlight assembly. Taking the bumper off was a little intimidating, but super easy once you get started and follow the directions. I got the matching fog lights and did them both in one install. The smoked lens adds a great aggressive look to the performance white of my mustang. Although the halos aren't bright enough to drive with they add lots of light to the ground when using high beams. Great for driving in very dark conditions! Love them! 10/10

The only wiring that needs to b done is also Very simple! You don't have to cut any wires! Over all these are awesome headlights and give the car a very aggressive look!!!!

Completes the darker front end look.

After installing a Saleen grille and matte black LeMans stripes I noticed something was missing. I saw another Mustang with the Raxiom headlights and I wanted a set for my mustang. The installation is a little intimidating when it comes to removing the front bumper. Just taking my time and all is well. Just love the finished look of all black on the front end. Lighting is outstanding.

    Smoked Projector Headlights are Excellent!

The Smoked headlights do have a very intimidating look to them! They are also practical and safe when driving down country roads at night with no street lamps. I was hesitant to install them myself at the start, but once i started it became a smooth and straight forward operation. I recommend this product to any mustang enthusiast who wants a more aggressive look and the satisfaction of installing it themselves :)

    Great upgrade for a blackout

These headlights look great. Overall, the installation was simple. It was a little nerve-racking to pull off the bumper but just take your time and everything will be okay. These lights are a must if you are blacking out your car if you do not want to put tint on your factory lamps. The halo adds a nice touch of aggressiveness as well.

    love the look!

I am a novice do-it-yourself type of guy. I was able to do this install in 2-3 hours with no problems. If I can do that anyone can! He time was worth it as my blackout look is awesome and these lights look super cool at night. I totally recommend this to anyone wanting that blackout look and that have factory HID. One note, when you install the wire connectors, mzke sure you clamp them tight. I didn't and the lights didn't come all the way on. Once I squeezed the wirenclamps tighter they worked flawlessly. Another fine product fro AM and Raxiom!!

    Aggressive Black 5.0

Installation was quick and easy, the only issue was adjusting the lights. The way the knobs are situated is a pain, nonetheless with a little time everything was good. Here in Germany I get the "WOW" looks from everyone, and complements on how the 5.0 looks very sexy with the halo lights.

    Raxiom Smoked Headlights

These headlights really change the look of your Mustang. The install was straight forward. I soldered the halos to my parking lights rather than use the provided clips. Some people may get a little freaked out about removing the entire front of the car but its really pretty easy as long as you take your time and have plenty of room to store it while you install the headlights. These use the factory HID so brightness is NOT an issue. They are super bright and "aiming" them was a breeze. Thank AM and Raxiom for another great mod.
