Review & Install Video

Hi I’m Justin with, and I’m breaking down Magnaflow’s Magnaflow Cat-Back exhaust, fitting the 94-98 Mustang GT and Cobra. Magnaflow has built a reputation by producing great fitting, quality exhausts and that continues to be the case here with the Magnapack, this aggressive exhaust is sure to give any 5.0 or 4.6L SN95 a serious exhaust note, thanks to these two straight through design Bullitt style Magnapack mufflers, which are of course a throwback to the classic glass packs of the 60’s and 70’s. Getting back to the quality, we’re looking at a full stainless steel construction throughout. From the 2.5” mandrel bent tubing which features some very nice welds, these Magnapack mufflers and finally these massive 3.5” tips, which exit of the stock location. Because Ford decided to weld the factory exhaust with these SN95’s, you will need to cut the factory tailpipes just behind the muffler, using a saw or something similar before getting started with the install. Once you get that out of the way, getting the new Magnaflow installed should only take you about 2 hours from start to finish. Now let’s hear how Magnaflow’s Magnapack sounds compared to our factory exhaust.

Sounds really nice, especially with a bbk offroad "x" pipe infront of it. It's a great setup; just loud when you really put your foot down. No drone doing 60, a little when doing 70 but not bad. She sounds real mean now. Overall excellent quality and sound!

    Magnapacks for 95 GT

I love this catback so much. Mine is a daily driver for college and its all highway mileage, they have an incrediably sexy sound at 2300 rpm and its not too loud at that speed so there is no drone. But when you stomp on the gas be prepared for the scream of your engine to fly out cause it is LOUD. I get compliments on it from all my friends and family. One of my friends has even switched from flowmasters to the "packs". I highly recommend this exhaust. Oh and its very easy to install it took me about 4 hours with my friend from taking off the old to putting on the new. I just cant wait to put on long tube headers and an offroad x-pipe

    Nice buy

Sounds great, expecially with the o/r x-pipe. vastly improves fuel economy as well from what i have seen. right around 27 mpg\'s from Seattle to Pittsburgh. Have a shop throw a few welds on there to prevent leaks and its sounds beautiful

I recently installed this exhaust on my 1997 GT with a pypes offroad X-pipe. I have never heard anything like this around town. I have had many complements, and they are all the same. Everybody loves how its got a great tone that really isn\'t loud at idle, but when I open it up, it is LOUD. I haven\'t had trouble with cops. Great buy!

    Great sound

Put this on with bbk long tube headers and bbk catted h-pipe, the sound is incredible along with the torque gains from the set. couldn't ask for a sweeter tone

    Awesome exhaust

Installed on my 1998 GT and this exhaust is just the meanest sound I have ever heard! No drone and no rasp to speak of! If you are on the fence between these and any other cat-back system, then go with the Magnapacks.

Just installed this setup on my \'94 5.0, and it sounds savage! Exactly the sound I was looking for, nice and deep, not raspy. It is EXTREMELY loud when I step on it, and it\'s been turning heads everywhere I go. Definitely worth the money. You won\'t be disappointed

Great exhaust for the money if you're lookin to spend the extra buck!

Absolutely love this exhaust! Sounds amazing with my Pypes O/R X-pipe! Very little drone at highway speeds. Be careful when taking off if ya got police around!!! Exhaust note is loudest between 2,000-3,100 rpms. Has a nice mean "rap" to it at 2,900 rpms. Tips look great from the side and back. (would recommend having the exhaust tip hangers spot-welded once exhaust seats itself with your car though...otherwise they touch the rear bumper a bit and can rattle as the rpms increase.) ONLY complaint I've got is the bend on the tail-pipe end of the passenger side muffler wasn't quite right...had to fight with it for almost a half hour to get it lined up so the over-axle pipe could fit. Was a bit irritating being the x-pipe and drivers side of the exhaust went in perfectly! I'd definitely recommend this exhaust to anyone looking for something that's loud when ya want it to be and comfortable at cruising speeds! I've already been told by numerous people my cars one of the best sounding in town....needless to say that makes me smile! Thanks again American Muscle!

I got these installed with a Catted X-Pipe and the outcome was AMAZING. Best set up Ive heard! I had cut down flowmasters before and i switched over to these magnapacks and i am soooo happy I did. They sound so much better than the flowmasters. I would definetly recommend these to anyone.

    Good quality

Fits well, installed this on a 96 cobra. Sounded and looked great! It was a little too loud for me when I switched to an offroad midpipe though.

Still one of my favorite mods

Still one of my favorite mods, sound is great, i get compliments on the sound all the time. what a lot of people dont realize is that alot of performance exhausts actually decrease power. These exhausts are meant for certain pressures, and stock engines freak out when the length or width of the exhaust changes. I believe this exhaust did actually increase power though. Dont go cheap, buy these, the cheap aluminum exhausts decrease power and make it sound awful.

96 Mustang Gt conv. Magnaflow competition exhaust

Took a little bit of work to get the exhaust lined up and messing with the stupid rubber hangers. Instructions aren't too much help but just look at what side the bracket mount is pointing on the muffler and exhaust and you should be fine. Still have to do a little tweaking to get the tips to come out straight but they still look good. Overall exhaust is very good quality and sounds 10x better than stock sound. Still need to get my bbk h pipe on which will make it sound even better. Make sure to have a Sawzall or something to cut old exhaust to get it over the rear axle. Would recommend this to anybody that isn't a fan of the flowmaster sound on these cars.

Fantastic cat-back. This was my first venture into modifying exhaust but i did a ton on research before i decided on this. The exhaust note is incredible. I paired this with the BBK off road H pipe and it will turn heads, guaranteed. The fit was great, everything lined up good. The old exhaust game out without to much fight, just make sure to cut the old axle back out with a saws all. Also the new kit comes with its own hangers and isolators so if your having trouble getting the old system off, just cut those as well. Also, i didn't have access to a lift. It is possible to do it without but i had an issue getting the new exhaust over the rear axle because the frame was to close to the ground. I ended up jacking the car up by the frame. This let the axle down from the frame enough to get the new exhaust over it. Overall very happy. You will not be disappointed. Just make sure your ready for it, because this thing is louuuuud.

    Well built, and loud

I installed this system with the magnaflow off road x-pipe and it is loud. The system is very well made and has great welds. It has an excellent tone at idle and it turns heads where ever i go. It was difficult to get the fit just right but in the end it looks and sounds great! A little on the loud side but if that's what your going for I definitely recommend this product.

    Great Deep sound!

At first when my car came off the ramps I was a little disappointed, I wanted something louder. Drove it around a little and still kind of bummed out. Took it out on a drive again and BAM it hit!. It sounded soooooo dam good! nice deep note and no drone! on idle it isnt loud like my '72, but can still hear some exhaust, 1-4th gear it sounds dam right good! and on 5th cruising at 80MPH it isnt loud, nice cruise note. I cant wait to get an X-Pipe installed soon! I was debating between these and LM1 and I am not disappointed in my choice! This car sounds better than my dad's 07 GT with Super 44's.

    96 GT Magnapacks

Extremely pleased! Has the deep throaty sound I have been looking for. Reminiscent of a 4v. Install was a little rough, but that is in no way AM or Magnaflow's fault, I did it on jackstands in the snow. The parts shipped fast, and were packaged very well. Hats off to AM as usual. It took me a bit due to the cold, but all in all on a nice day, probably about 2-3 hours of work, not bad. Very pleased, nice cold start, beautiful idle, can drive it around and no worries from the police, but it does let the town know you are there at WOT. I would definitely recommend this to any 2v owner. Off road X or H, it sounds good.
