I have a mustang gt bumper, will this fit it correctly? I have a 2007 ford mustang gt bumper because I was rearended. I wanted to make sure before I buy this that it will fit my bumper correctly. And also should the fact that there isn't any welding make installation cheaper?

  • Yes, the GT bumper will install on your V6 with no issues in combination with this Magnaflow Dual Catback!

what headers will go great with this and what headers will go great with this and do I have to make a cut out for the exhaust if I buy the magnaflow dual catback exhaust or could I just install them as is on my stock 2009 v6

  • I installed this exhaust on my 2007 v6, it was very easy to install yourself and as for the bumper, I made a small cut to match the other side until I can afford a new bumper. Very easy to do. As for headers, I installed these ones: Easy to put them on, just hard to get the old ones off.

What size? I have this on my 07 v-6 mustang, what size x pipe would i need to convert it to a true duel exhaust?

  • The Magnaflow Dual Competition Cat-Back Exhaust uses 2.5" tubing, and the x-pipe would need to use 2.5" tubing for the pipes to be compatible.

Question Resolved

I have tried to listen to the difference between magnaflows dual exhaust and pypes true dual mid muffler exhaust. I've got to say i cant really tell the difference and i would love a different opinion on this cause im wanting to put on an exhaust system asap! the local exhaust mechanic is suggesting the magnaflows but i think maybe cause the pypes are not available to him. So please help me find the right exhaust system to make my muscletang rumble! thanks a lot!

  • Hi, I think the Pypes Mid-Muffler True Dual Exhaust sounds better than the Magnaflow Dual Competition Cat-Back Exhaust while moving but the Magnaflow sounds better at idle.

Question Resolved

RWHP/ RWTQ Gains What are the rear wheel hp and tq gains from this conversion exhaust. And how does it compare to the pypes mid muffler conversion?

  • Not gona see a lot of gains with this system, mainly just sound. It's not a true dual system like the pypes so it won't come close to having the same gains. If you want power then you need true dual, not y-pipe connected to y-pipe!!!

Magnaflow Dual Competition VS. Pypes Mid Muffler.

I want to start off by saying that I have had the Magnaflow Dual setup on my Mustang for over a month now. I can't be happier. When I first did my research on dual exhaust I tried and tried to look for videos and online reviews. Well if you are like me you probably didn't have much luck. I heard both exhausts in person. Both kits are good but in terms of "loudness" they each have their unique tone. I have to admit Pypes is much louder but it comes with that annoying popping sound that ricer cars have. Which to me is not pleasing. The maganaflow has a deep rumble when you are going into the 2-3 rpm range. On highway you are still hearing that low rumble as well which is amazing. I only have one advice to anyone getting either of these kits. GET THE BAMA TUNER. ITS A MUST HAVE. I had the kit before and after the tuner. Man when I first pressed on that gas pedal after the race tune I flew back into my seat and my entire neighborhood was filled with the rumble noise. I am very pleased with this kit I wouldn't change it for pypes even though they have a better value deal.

    V8 Sound for your V6

My dad got me this as a christmas and birthday present, since they are close, and we installed it and when I turned my car on. It was probably one of the happiest moments of my life. It completely changed the sound of my v6 mustang and made it so awesome and loud. Plus we were in the garage so it sounded even louder. Your going to love parking garages with this exhaust. Also it looks cool coming out the back, as opposed to the ugly stock exhaust. Buy it!

This is a great exhaust for your Mustang. Put it on myself which was not too difficult. Took about 6 hours but was completely worth it. Cutting the bumper myself was not too bad (only bad side is no template and I really didnt want to spend $300+ on a new bumper) The looks are great with no big ugly mufflers and two nice shiny tips showing off your aggressive new stang. Id invest in some ear plugs for this exhaust, makes a stock GT sound like a wimp! Highly recommend!!!! GET IT

    Good For the Price

I've had this kit on my car for almost 3 years. It's a good product. I was torn between this exhaust kit and the JBA kit offered for the v6 S197 Mustang. I went with the product strictly for name value alone and I can say I haven't been disappointed. Although the kit is advertised as a bolt-on, my local exhaust shop had to do some welding in order for the kit for fit properly. It offers a nice throaty sound (not as deep or rich as the v8 and anyone who claims as such are truly diluting themselves) that can definitely make its presence known when you stomp on the skinny pedal. It's primarily quiet at lower RPMs or when you're cruising at highway speeds but in colder weather the exhaust can be kinda tinny/poppy until it's fully warmed up. I'm thinking about getting a 2010 Mustang which means a new dual exhaust system set up. I'm not sure if it would be my first round ballot choice as far as exhaust but it would definitely be in the top 3. It's that good.

    Great sound

If you are looking for that more aggressive sound out of your v6 this is the way to go. Also you can do the project yourself and save the money for another part. Its an easy install and took me about 2 hours to do everything.

    A Must Buy!

This exhaust system is a MUST BUY for any V6 Mustang owners. The sound these pipes deliver is truly amazing. The deep rumble sounds as good or better than any stock GT on the road. The look is better that a GT as well because there are no visible mufflers behind the polished tips. In my experience this system not only improved the sound and look of my car but made it seem more powerful even to me. Just be sure you change your rear bumper to one made for a dual exhaust.

    Great Sound

I bought my V6 '07 Pony new in May of 2007 and two days later had a professionial speed shop install these bad boy sounding pipes. You never saw a guy so nervous having to cut out the semi-circle than this guy was. I didn't even have 150 miles on a brand new car. But he did a masterful job on the installaton. I can't really say if it picked up the throttle any because I hadn't had the car long enough to have much to compare to. But I'm pretty sure it did. I do know one thing, it sounds great, and the look from behind is super too. Got rid of those ugly silver mufflers. They've been on there now over 3 1/2 years and shine like new money. And sound better today than the day they were put on. If you have a V6 this cat back system is a must. Thanks American Muscle for all you do for us Pony lovers.

    Good System

This system sounds great. It's hard to hear inside the cab once you get going. It also gives good horsepower gain. I picked up a GT500 bumper for my V6 to avoid cutting and would recommend that to anyone. The tips look great and it delivers V8 sound with V6 fuel economy.

    my stang

I bought this exhaust about two years ago for my 2008 v6. The sound is awesome, especially with chrome BBk headers. There are some down points to it though. With only one hanger one each side, the muffler clinks to the actual hanger, making driving harder because i dont want to damage them. I might end up welding another set of hangers on. Also there is really bad exhaust drone at about 2,000 to 2,500 RPM. This is a really great product and i love it a lot, but you might as well buy an x-pipe conversion kit and put GT mufflers on. it is a great starter exhaust for someone who is just getting grease on their hands.

    Rolling Thunder

I bought this kit about two months ago and finally got it installed today at my local shop and this is the best sounding kit I've heard yet. I go to car shows all the time and you hear guys with kits that sound like fart cannons on their ride but this kit is truly different. I live in a large city where exhaust systems are a daily thing for my local shop and they said they were amazed with the results this kit produced, they said it was the best conversion kit they had ever heard. I highly recommend this kit for anyone looking for that aggressive sound. -2005 V6 Manual-

    Sounds better than a V8

The exhuast system itself sounds amazing. Although I only gave it 4 stars because when installing them I had to take it down to a shop and have them bind the pipes a tiny bit to get them to fit. So in many cases it is a direct bolt on, but it wasnt for me. Also dont forget to buy an exhaust hanger for the driver side! But all in all I am very satisfied with this purchase.

    Great product

Great exhaust, especially with the BBK cold air intake. People turn there heads when you drive by them now. Only thing I could complain about is that it came without a template, but still a great product. I would recommend it to all V6 owners.
