How is this set different from the Pypes mid-muffler set up for the v6? Both are mid muffler with what looks like the same tips and piping, but i'm guessing there is more that's different as the v6 with duals are usually drone-ridden with almost everything except mid muffler.

    • The Pypes Mid-Muffler True Dual Exhaust - Black (05-10 V6), item # 383696, (http://www.americanmuscle.com/pypes-midmuffler-truedual-catback-black-0510v6.html) comes with an After-Cat X-Pipe. It is intended to connect to the factory catalytic convertors to convert the single exhaust to a true dual exhaust. The Pypes Mid-Muffler Cat-Back Exhaust with Black Tips (05-10 GT) is designed to bolt up to the factory H-Pipe. They both have a 2.5" tubing with 4" tips, but are designed for different models.

If I have an existing exhaust system, will this work. I have kooks Lon tubes and non catted H-pipe, will this system still work with that set up .

      Pypes Mid Muffler

Great sounding exhaust. Quite when driving normal. During hard acceleration it is loud and gives an old muscle car sound. Fit was good but takes forever to get all of the pipes lined up. I also recommend welding the rear of the muffler to the over axle pipe. Could not get it to seal just using clamps.

Awesome doesn't begin to describe these

Let me start by saying that these Pypes Cat backs are the first non-aesthetic upgrade I've done to my mustang. The total time to remove the old exhaust and install these was less than 2 hours. Be advised, though, we had a lift and air tools. You'll most likely spend the majority of your time twisting the exhaust pipes so the end toward the tips sits flush--this was the most tedious task for us. All in all, great buy. AM delivered the product super fast, as always. Oh and the sound... Loud, but not annoying. It definitely rumbles the way a true muscle car should. I'm in love with the sound, the wife is too.

      Great system

This catback system sounds amazing. I'm running it with a Pypes O/R X-pipe. I swapped to these from Flowmasters and I love the difference. It has a very good deep tone to it, and it sounds just like a Mustang should. The fitment was rough. Took about 2 hours at a shop to get mine just right. Installation should only be about an hour to two hours at a shop. It also looks good too, the black tips add on well to the black on blue look for my Stang. I'd recommend with a mid-pipe like how I have it, but they have to sound good alone too.
