        The Pypes

I installed this x-pipe and the Pypes mid muffler system at the same time. I love it. It was a bit of a GRRRRR getting them in place, but the tune they sing along with the long tubes already installed is music to my ears. The idle is quieter, but from about 3000 up, they produce a sound that reminds me of a trumpet; but much more intoxicating. For me, well worth the time and money.

4 2007 GT - CharlesM Installation Time: Afternoon

I love the sound, it’s nice and low pitch and a very easy install. Didn’t even have to take the pipe off from where they connect to the headers. Wish it was a little bit louder. But overall I love it!

      5 Top Rated Questions

Will this work wih long tube headers or just the shorty? Since this is the cut and clamp and re-uses the stock cats, could this be used with long tube headers?

      • Just the shorties. For longtubes you need a offroad x or one that will line up with LTs. This just replaces part of the factory H to make an X.

I have a stock 2005 mustang GT with just a pype bomb axle back. What will this do to the exhaust sound paired up with my pype bombs? Also this will still pass CA smog right? Thanks

      • The Pypes Cut and Clamp X-Pipe (05-10 GT) would give your exhaust setup a raspier sound due to the X-Pipe. This midpipe however is not CARB legal, for further details of restrictions and and approved modifications, please contact your local authorities or DMV.

will this need to be tune? sound quality with Flowmaster thunder axleback? I would like to purchase this x-pipe since its cheap and can still past inspection. My question is will this require to be tune when install? second part of my question is anyone installed these with Flowmaster thunder axle back exhaust? would like to know the quality of the sound and opinion? Thanks in advance

      • No tune due to it not removing the cats. As for sound check youtube for that combination and you may find some clips.

I have a 2010 mustang GT. I have hookers long tube header but i need a x or a h pipe. Would this fit?

      • It should fit just fine, my friend did the same with his mustang, but had to cut a longer section off.

is this x pipe loud with flowmaster outlaws?

      • This X-Pipe and the Flowmaster Outlaw Series will give your car an extremely loud and raspy tone. An X-Pipe gives your car a very raspy tone and the Outlaw's are extremely aggressive. Your car will be a head turner with this set up.
