Better exhaust setup I'm planning on getting this X-pipe to hopefully finish upgrading my mustangs exhaust. Currently I'm running stock cats into divorced 2.25in piping all going into dual Flowmaster Super 10s. I plan on running this X-pipe with Pypes High Flow Cats all into my 2.25in piping and Flowmasters. Does this sound like it would make a good exhaust setup for my Mustang or should I change up a few things to get a better sound for my car?

    • I removed the stock cats, turned off my rear O2 sensors, to use the Pypes off road x-pipe. Clamped it to my stock exhaust pipes and to my Corsa sport performance axel back mufflers. I have a deep aggressive sound, added a few more horses and absolutely turn heads on the road. I have seen the Pypes off road x-pipe used in conjunction of the Pypes pipe bombs. Amazing! So, depending on the emissions for where you live, you may want to keep the cats on. But if you're looking for that agressive deep throaty sound, you can't go wrong with the Pypes Off-Road X-Pipe.

    • This Pypes X-Pipe is designed for use on a 2005-2010 V6 Mustangs in combination with an aftermarket or stock 2005-2010 GT dual catback exhaust system. This will not work on the factory V6 Mustang Exhaust.

I have a stock 2006 V6 and I am looking to upgrade the exhaust. I have looked all over forums for what to do/ what is best, and I am just looking for further input. Should I go with a dual exhaust? If so, should i buy the X-pipe and then purchase a GT take off exhaust, or should I just buy an actual dual exhaust conversion kit? And if I stay with a single exhaust, what is a good muffler to use to give a more aggressive tone? 1 answer

      Perfect fit

Already had a dual exhaust, but no crossover. This xpipe helped alot with the stone from before, and sounds more like a mild gt now, and slight pep in throttle response. Would buy again.

      Convert to dual exhaust

Well when i first initially ordered this I thought it was going to be a easy cut and connect part into the stock piping's but I was wrong, especially because I did it myself with just a ramp and Jacks. The part that didn't fit properly over the stock piping was piping coming down from the headers, so I had to go to an Auto zone to rent out there exhaust spreader to which I expanded the end of the tubes of the x-pipe going to the headers. After that was done it fit over the stock piping perfectly. I'm in no way a expert so that might say how kinda easy it was for me. Just a DIY type of guy

      07 v6 Sounds great!!

I put this in my 07 a few months ago and just love it. Had car previously on Dyno made 201.2hp and 257ft lbs to the wheels then after install of just cutting everything out besides the cats and original manifolds. She's loud and proud. Now going to put pacerset long tube headers with a pair of high flow cats then finish exhaust system for true duals.

      Love it!!!

It's turns purplish after a little use but boy does it make my car sound a lot better and deeper tone even for a v6 sounds great and very easy to install just have to cut up the pipe that goes over the axle twice cause it's impossible to get it out without a lift or to cut it up

      Great Sound, Terrible Durability.

I bought one of these in March last year and was very pleased with the deep, rumbly noise my V6 made. However, a few months later one of the hangers fell off and caused a rather large hole to open up. Having that welded shut was not cheap and I'm disappointed that it even happened. If you're looking for a temporary upgrade, this is a perfect product. However I wouldn't recommend keeping it on a daily driver for long.

      Very nice

Glad I got this product to convert to a dual system. Only problem is you will have to buy a driver side intermediate pipe if you are running a single exhaust originally. After that all you need is your after market mufflers and your ready to go!

      Awesome!!

The X pipe cut and clamp is awesome. It's a great thing to buy if you're looking to buy aftermarket exhaust. I got the Roush extreme cat backs and man does it sound good on a v6. Makes it sound like a v8 and you can feel the power the X pipe adds !! Love it

      Perfect!

The item was overall a solid build on their end I own a 2010 v6 mustang and I added on a 2011 borla stype exhaust system on to it and I needed a x or h pipe in order for the duel cats to into everything nicely, at the end of the project the pypes xpipe was a great choice cheap and sounds amazing highly recommend if your trying to give your 2010 or older mustang v6 a better sound and a beef in performance!

The missing piece to the exhaust puzzle

Well, what can I say, without this I wouldnt have dual exhaust! Fitment is good, just make sure to leave a little extra room on those stock pipes when lining the xpipe up.
