Mustang GT Lower Grille Inserts Installation Guide (2005+)

The below installation instructions work for the following products:

Here at American Muscle, we're all about DIY (do it yourself). Of course, there's nothing wrong with seeking out a little bit of tech help prior to taking on an installation on your own. Our Mustang installation guides will provide valuable instructions and hopefully answer any how-to questions that you may have along the way.

The following instructions are for the installation of the Mustang GT Lower Grille Inserts (2005+) from SilverHorse Racing.

NOTE: Please read all directions before beginning Installation. Vehicle should be securely parked with ignition off and key removed prior to beginning installation.

• Cleaning Product
• Paper Towels
• ABS Compatible Plastic Glue (optional)

Installation:

1. Start with a clean car for best results. Remove any wax/sealants on the area where the inserts will be installed. The inserts are labeled Driver / Passenger on the back side of the pieces to aid in simplifying installation.


2. Install the pieces with text up and to the backside (they will only fit correctly one way) until they snap into the existing lower grill. Slightly pull forward on the insert to insure that the retaining clips are securely engaged to the back of the existing lower grill. Repeat for other side.


3. If desired for permanent added protection of cooling components, glue / cement compatible with ABS plastics may be used or the parts drilled / and riveted to the existing lower grill insert. Removal of the lower grill is recommended to reduce the risk of damage to bumper cover.


4. If parts need to be removed for cleaning / maintenance and they have not been glued or riveted in place, they can be removed by pushing on the outer lower corner or the piece until it pushes through the grill – take care not to push into any coolers behind the grill, then rotate to the horizontal position and retract piece from the lower grill.
