Magnet I am pretty sure i know the answer, but... This doesn't have a magnet to catch the metal debris, does it? I couldn't imagine how to engineer that with a ball valve drain. Thanks!

  • No magnet. Ideally you shouldn't have metal debris! ( This could maen engine problems. ) If you are just checking for them, you can filter the oil through pantyhose, (MAKE SURE they aren't new ones! I did that once and she WAS NOT HAPPY.)

    Drain Valves Works Fine But

I have this valve installed it works just fine on the bottom of my '93 5.0 oil pan. The only drawback to this valve is that the drain speed is much slower when compared to pulling the drain plug. But that drawback is minor to the advantages of this plug. First it's a much cleaner drain. For me, pulling the drain plug caused oil to miss the drain funnel, run down my arm, spill on my garage floor, etc. This won't happen here. Just a simple turn of the small valve handle and your draining. When closed, the valve handle locks closed so no accidental draining. An issue, which I have already sent a note to American Muscle about, is with the front drain plug. It won't screw in all the way because of the recess in the pan and the nub that sticks out for the handle hit before the valve can base out against the pan. The valve needs an extension of ~1" in length. With the extension the valve handle nub clears the recess and all is well. It's a good valve and works just fine. Just a bit of hassle without the extension piece.

    Great simple product!

I wish I thought of something this simple! So it's really easy to install, just replace it with your old drain plug at your next oil change. Everytime you go to change your oil, bam just a turn of the lever. Yes, we know it takes longer than normal. But what's a few extra minutes.. The only negative side to this is: If someone wanted to steal your oil or kill your car, they could just flip the lever and leave it (even though they could do it with a normal drain plug <- they would actually need the tool so it's more of a pain I guess.)

    Great product!!

Talk about easy! All you have to do is take out old drain plug and screw the quick-drain. Next oil change Lift the lever and turn it and out the oil will go! I change oil on my car myself and I have to say this product is amazing! If you change you're oil yourself with out a lift this will make your oil changing experience a lot better.

    Great Product!!

This is an easy, efficient and cheap way to speed up your oil changes. It really makes it easy, without the risk of stripping your oil plug. An overall A + in my book.

Very easy to install, just a flick and oil drain with no mess on ur hands.

I really like this product. It's very easy to install and requires no special tools. Anyone can do this. U just need to wait until ur next oil change to replace old plug with new quick drain valve. Then nex time u change oil all it takes is the lifting of a lever and done. No mess. That makes for a more pleasant oil change.

    The quick-oil change valve

My next oil change for my 2001 Mustang GT should be cleaner & faster. The QOCV was easy to install & works great. No more oil spills on my garage floor. I recommend this product for all the do-it-yourself machanics.

    Good valve

My old drain bolt was starting to strip out so I decided to pick this one up and it does the job. I work at a shop where oil changes are a usual job and I wish all cars had this valve installed. It is a bit slow on the draining, but nothing to worry about. Definetly recommend.

    Simple, Easy

The quick-drain valve was very easy to install during a normal oil change (just replace the stock bolt with this product). The function is just as great as the installation. It does drain slower than a wide open oil pan (thankfully) so your oil changes might take a FEW minutes longer, but the valve is great and easy to use and oil changes are no longer messy.

Saves wear and tear on the drain pan threads

I would recommend this product to you modded modern muscle pony. Eliminates the mess of removing the drain plug. Saves wear and tear on the drain pan threads. American Muscle does it again in supplying a great product.

    No oily mess

This drain valve is great just turn the knob and watch the oil drain in to the pan. The oil does drain slower with this but its worth the few extra minutes to keep oil from going every where.
