Quality product, looks sharp
Installed this on my 2011 Ingot Silver V6 Convertible. Part was of great quality, looks nice against the silver. I do wish the inner duller portion was finished a bit better, perhaps a shiny clear coat? Might have a body shop paint that section body color to match.
Looks great, especially against silver.
Very high quality machine work on the piece.
Much more interesting than the stock cap.
Price..pretty pricey considering what it is.
I wish it sealed better..As the 2011 is "capless" the filler neck is more exposed, Water from heavy rain or a carwash could potentially make its way in. The stock fuel door has a rubber gasket which prevents this.
Instructions were somewhat unclear.. One of the first steps is to drill out the stock plastic part inside the fuel door. Whats not clear is that you then need to release the clips (breaking them really) to remove that part, this makes the part unable to be reused. The gasket that fits around the filler neck was also very stiff and hard to install, but eventually i got it.
Finally, I found tightening the nuts difficult due to the small opening and limited space inside (though thats not really the fault of the fuel door)
Overall, a pricey, but well built piece that has a great look
