We're sorry. We couldn't save this product at this time.
So the Pro Traxx from Westin will be one of your most affordable four-inch options on the site, along with the Barricade and Raptor Series stuff, in the low $200 price range with these 30-degree ends. Now, prospective buyers will be saving some money by grabbing them in black, which we have here, but can be had in polished stainless steel as well, also on the site for about $100 more. Installation is going to get one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter from me, but we will have a little bit more detail on that later on. Now, the land of aftermarket sidesteps and nerf bars is a rather large one. Different sizes, ranging from three to six inches, different lengths, different finishes, different end designs. You get the point, right? The important feature you guys need to keep in mind here with the Westin is that four-inch oval design, which in my opinion is going to be a nice middle ground when shopping for an aftermarket sidestep or nerf bar. It's enough to give you some improved footing over those factory options, in regards to more real estate, making entry and exit a little bit easier. But at the same time, you're not going to have some huge things hanging off the bottom of your cab, like some of those six-inch options. But at the same time, it's a kind of give and take thing here with sidesteps as well. Because, yes, you might not like having a couple of telephone poles hanging underneath the cab with those larger options. But at the same time, you're not going to get the same amount of footing by going with a smaller diameter bar, like a three or four-inch option. So again, it's kind of a give and take. You have to decide what's most important to you and your truck. Now, Westin as a brand is one of those companies that doesn't really need a big introduction, because they're certainly one of the heavy hitters in the industry. In fact, they have over 20 different running board and nerf bar options alone. Now, the Pro Traxx that we have here is one of the company's more entry-level or affordable options, and the low $200 price point will certainly reflect that. Now, with all that said, the construction here for an affordable option is still very solid throughout. Full stainless steel build finished in that black powder coat, which is more of a satin finish here in the shop, all backed by a three-year limited warranty. The traction area is one of my favorites in the category for this price point, and does feature a whole lot of real estate here for both the front and rear passengers, along with a textured ABS plastic finish, which is slip and UV resistant. Now, I know it's a bit tough to see here on the table, but the Westins do feature those 30-degree ends, in addition to the Raptor Series options as well, when shopping for a four-inch bar in this price point. Now, if you wanted to go with a 90-degree end and stick in this price point, the Barricades will be your best bet, as they will be priced in the same ballpark as the Westins here. Some people might even argue that those 90-degree ends make for a more cleaner look as they kind of dead end into the cab. But ultimately, guys, that is your call and we do have a few to choose from here on the site. But aside from the construction and the diameter here with the Westin, some of the other details or benefits to look forward to when installing something like this, obviously, making entry and exit a little bit easier in your F-150. But also, will help protect you from door dings in parking lots, because these guys tend to stick out a little bit further and offer you a nice little defense there. Switching gears, let's briefly graze over some of the big, juicy details of the installation. Honestly, guys, this one is extremely straightforward. So one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter is what you can expect here, and anywhere from an hour or two from start to finish, depending on how fast you work. Tool-wise, even more basic. Just a socket set is going to be doing most of your heavy lifting for this install. But Westin also includes a six-millimeter hex bit that will be used as well. Getting started, you'll need to remove the factory sidesteps or any other aftermarket sidestep before proceeding. Once everything is removed, go ahead and install the included brackets using the included hardware, making way for the new sidestep bars. With the brackets installed and the hardware tightened up, go ahead and install the sidestep bar from Westin. With the bars adjusted, go ahead and tighten up your hardware and your installation is complete. Wrapping this one up here, gang, if you're looking for a super-affordable four-inch option from one of the most popular names in the category, you'll want to check out the Pro Traxx from Westin, right here at americantrucks.com.
