Here at American Muscle, we're all about DIY (do it yourself). Of course, there's nothing wrong with seeking out a little bit of tech help prior to taking on an installation on your own. Our Mustang installation guides will provide valuable instructions and hopefully answer any how-to questions that you may have along the way.
Your kit should include an antenna and one adapter (threaded rod).
This is a universal kit for all year mustangs.
Tools you will need:
Adjustable wrench or pliers
A shop rag
You will remove your stock antenna by unscrewing it from the base in a counter-clockwise direction.
Use a shop rag to protect the bottom of the antenna from scratches from the pliers/wrench while unscrewing it. This will leave you with just the base of the antenna on your fender.
Once the antenna is removed from the base you will need to screw the new adapter clockwise securely into the base.
After you have securely screwed the adapter into the base you will now screw the Mustang shorty antenna on to the tip of the adapter that is sticking up from the antenna base in a clockwise motion.
You can use the pliers/wrench to more precisely tighten the antenna, but be sure to use a shop rag to protect the bottom of the antenna from scratches from the pliers/wrench while screwing it on to the adapter.
Double check that the antenna is secure, then turn up the tunes and enjoy your hard work.
