How to Install a Ford Racing Natural Shorty Headers for GT-40P Heads on your 1979-1993 Mustang 5.0L

Installation

PARTS INCLUDED IN KIT:

*M-9430-SSC STAINLESS STEEL HEADER

*M-9430-C50 CERAMIC COATED HEADER

M-9448-A302 GASKET

* one style of header per kit

Note: Both headers are made of 409 stainlee5 steel, only M·9430·C50 are ceramic coated.

STEP 1: Clean the mountlng surface removing old gasket material.

STEP 2: Install two studs (part number N-800064·S2 .available from your FORD/UNCOLNI MERCURY Dealer).in each header to retain the exhaust system.(SeeFigure I).

STEP 3: Install two header bolts, provided in kit, in either end of the shorty header. NOTE: The header bolts $hould be loose enough to install the exhaust gasket

STEP 4: Install exhaust gasket.

STEP 5: Install the remaining header bolts.

STEP 6: finger tighten all the header bolts.

STEP 7: Repeat STEPS 1-6 for the other side of the engine.
