  • Unfortunately, this MMD surround is not compatible with the MMD Decklid Panel. The only decklid that will fit without modification would be the Magnetic Decklid Panel - please see link below.

    Pros VS Cons

    May 28, 2013

The piece looks good on the car... but it's pretty expensive for this piece of plastic and the plastic itself doesn't fit exactly tight or flush, thus allows dirt and water to get inside of it and it also collects dirt worse than it had without this piece on the car. I bet this cost literally $5.00 to make so $59.99 is a pretty inflated price to pay for what you get in return. With that said, this is not something i'd ever invest in again. It looks good on the car itself but if you look at close up you will see exactly what i mean and when shown to people, they will see it too. Several people asked me about it and then when we looked at it from a foot away, they pointed it out, So if you like your car to look "blacked out" and or don't like the Ford factory silver, then this is the piece for you. But if you want a perfect fit and or are picky about looks, you might look somewhere else or just not get 1 in the first place. I expected a snugger fit and thicker plastic that wouldn't collect dirt... So it's really up to the owners discretion, as i almost did not install this piece upon receiving it... but i decided to anyways because i have the yellow blaze metallic/Black Boss 302 and did NOT want to see this only piece of chrome on my car so i bought this piece to make it black so it looks like the rest of the car. The silver Ford it covered up was an eye sore!

NIce Addition to the Rear End!!

    April 03, 2014

The black surround emblem really made the rear end look clean. I have an ingot silver stang with black stripes and rims so getting the chrome off was a priority. This emblem surround did the trick and was very easy to install... did it in mins!!! I was also able to incorporate the mmd decklid panel and wow does it look siccckkkk! Just made some alterations to the back of the decklid panel, slowly shaving some off until it sat flush and then used 3m double sided tape to apply. I've had it on for awhile now and always get complements, also never had any issues with it coming off or fading.

    Nice trunk emblem cover

    April 15, 2013

This is a cool item to add to appearance, blacks out the shiny chrome look. Was very easy to install just prep with wipe and make sure you pre fit and mark center line before you peel 3m tape and stick into place.

But I for the life of me can't understand why this round piece of plastic is so expensive.

    Matte black Trunk Emblem Surround

    May 30, 2014

My only gripe with this piece is that it is sent with a little green line for a indication point when installing. well mine did not have it or it somehow faded before I opened it and once that 3M tape touches the emblem its on there for good. So end of story my surround is a touch off, and only noticeable by a car show judge. Other than that it looks great, finally no more chrome left on my car except my Bassani Race exhaust 4" tips.

    Bye bright chrome

    April 27, 2014

I've got a black 2010 GT. With black wheels. And a black horse on the front. And black everything else. That chrome faux fuel cap stuck out like a sore thumb. This quickly and easily took care of that. It was a bit pricey for a piece of plastic with some tape on it, but way easier than masking everything off and painting.

It eye catching along with my raxiom smoked tail lights.

    April 24, 2014

I have blacked out all of my lights and it was only logical to black out the GT emblem on the trunk. Silver and black is the only way to go!!!
