    Review & Install Video

So, Speedforms Decklid Blackout Decal is gonna be a good option for any of my 10 through 14 owners out there that are looking for an inexpensive and quick to install appearance decal. It's gonna pay a little bit of homage to the original and newer Boss models rear end, while also complementing and highlighting other blacked out or smoked bits that you might have on your car. So, when it comes time to throw this sucker on, expect a very easy one out of three wrenches on our difficulty scale here. About a 30 minute job. So, if you've been with your 10 through 14 for a while now you know the car already looks great from head to toe and from side to side but, your rear end's a little bit on the bare side so why bother adding something like this to the back of your car? Well, for starters guys, the rear ends on the 10 through 14 cars took a pretty wild departure from the 05 through 09 bodystyle but the rear end, in my opinion, kinda just felt like an after thought from Ford because it's a little bit on the plain side. So, that left a door wide open for car enthusiasts to put their personal touches on the car and this platform gave you the ability to do anything from spoilers to tail light swaps, different emblems in place of the fake gas cap, tinted bits here and there. But, a decklid panel area was still lacking. Now this blackout decal is going to bring out the lines on your trunk and the rear end of your car and make it that much more prominent or a focal point. This is damn near a perfect replica of the original Boss's decklid panel so if your out for that retro look or you just wanna bring out some of the classical elements of the older ponies from yesteryear, this is going to be a great place to start. Now I love all cars but I've got a tendency to modify almost anything with wheels on it and decals are appearance parts that are fairly inexpensive. They're easy to install but they make a pretty large visual impact. But, for owners out there that aren't to into the idea of spending $100 to $200 bucks on an ABS plastic style panel, I think this is a really nice alternative option for somebody that wants to do something to make their car stick out from the pack in comparison to the next Mustang on the road. But, let's take a closer look into the part itself, what it's made out of, and what you can expect from it. This is constructed from a very durable vinyl material that's gonna be precut to insure you're gonna have a great fit. This is a premium style of vinyl that's typically used on high end cars and it's gonna give you upwards of a couple years of use through no matter the weather or seasons. Now I this because, like car people, we've all got a tendency to get bored with the look of things. I can't tell you how many times I've changed up the look on my car or truck just to keep things fresh. This is great because you might want to swap it out for something else down the road and if you do it's really going to be as simple as just peeling it off. Look into the pricing here guys, expect to be only spending about 50 bucks to get this on the back of your car, which isn't all that bad considering this is a high grade of vinyl and it's a styling add on. It's gonna set your car apart from the rest of the pack. And looking around you're going to see that that decklid panel pricing can and will fluctuate. That's directly related to the materials that are gonna be used. Now this is a vinyl whereas RTR or MMD will be using an ADS graded plastic, so for you to come down to what you're looking to spend along with the overall execution. Best of all though, when it comes time to put this on you're not going to be doing any type of drilling into your car like I said earlier. You're looking at a pretty easy one our of three wrenches on our difficulty meter here and about a 30 minute job so getting started on it, make sure to clean your decklid area pretty well. That's to ensure that there's no grease or wax residue where the panel is going to adhere to. And once your decklid area is cleaned up you are going to want to get a small water bottle with a little soapy solution in there and then mist the decklid area. What that's gonna do is essentially buy a little bit of time to get this in place. Shouldn't be that hard considering the emblem is cut right out for you but once that's there simply work out all the moisture and the air pockets and then you're good to go. So that'll wrap up my quick review of Speedform's Decklid Blackout Decal in Matte Black for the 2010 through 2014 Mustang. That can be found right here at americanmuscle.com

Blacked Out Look. Your 2010-2014 Mustang will look menacing once it's completely blacked out. SpeedForm's Matte Black Decklid Blackout Decal adds a finishing touch that will give your pony an aggressive appearance on the street to go with the dark tint, rims, and lights. The decal is perfectly cut to fit around your fake gas cap. Your Mustang will look amazing at night once you add this decal.

Exceptional Quality. Made from premium-quality vinyl, this Decklid blackout decal won't give your Mustang a cheap appearance. It's meant to last as the vinyl is designed to endure the harshest weather conditions. While most brands on the market carry similar products, this matte black vinyl is made with the highest standards and will last more than a year or two.

Easy Installation. No drilling or messy bond is required for installation. This decklid blackout decal installs easily with the supplied double-sided 3M auto bonding tape for a quick and simple installation.

Application. The Speedform Matte Black Decklid Blackout Decal is made to fit on all 2010-2014 Ford Mustang models.

Will this decal become ruined when you wash your car using a power washer?

    Daniel

    • This type of Vinyl should be resistant to power washing, however if you would like to be on the safe side avoid spraying the decal from too close of a distance.

Will this Decal fit over my faded and scratched plastic deck lid panel?

    Robb

    • The SpeedForm Decklid Blackout Decal is designed to apply directly to the decklid. Removal of any aftermarket decklid panels would be required for installation.

Will this fit on a 2013 Boss 302 --- I ask because my center emblem is NOT shaped at all like the mustang in the picture.. it has an entirely different shape to it...

      Great

This mod changes the whole look, but fitment was a problem. Also take my advice and clean the deck lid extremely well or you will lose the adhesive because of dirt.

      Looks great. Easy install.

Product arrived quickly. The insta was striaght forward. You will need a razor blade to trim the edges along with a spray and squeegee. I used a spray that came with my window tinting from my house windows. Use plenty of spray, as you cannot use enough. When squeegeeing, I used a microfiber towel between the squeegee and the vinyl as to not scratch the vinyl. It was a little bigger of a fit than my deck lid, so the Xacto worked great to trim the edges. The only gripe I have is the top left and right corners do not stay down so use extra caution when washing as tou will snag those corners and pull it up.

      Good Buy

Easy to install with proper equipment and patience. The decal however did run a bit big on the Decklid. But I just ended up cutting it to my liking so its not too bad. Looks great tho, it changed the appearance of the whole rear end.

This SpeedForm Decklid Blackout Decal does not have adhesive material however it should stick when applied with soapy water after it is squeegeed. Please contact our customer service department at your earliest convenience so we may correct this issue.

It took a little longer then I expected to get it aligned, but once aligned it went on smoothly. Can't beat the bang for your buck. Looks stock and tones down the shine of the backend. In total took about 30 min to install.
