Street Comp UHP. The Mickey Thompson Street Comp tire is built especially for ultra high performance applications that demand incredible traction, crisp handling, and high speed cornering ability. You get all these features along with the outstanding styling you would expect from Mickey Thompson.

Superior Wet And Dry Performance. Using a special compound formulated for both dry and wet traction, the Street Comp has a non-directional asymmetrical design for superior summer-oriented performance and features a 300 AA A UTQG rating.

Best Fit Application: 19 x 8.5 Inch 2005 to 2013+ Wheels

NOTE: These are extreme ultra high performance summer specific compound and tread tires. Use during the summer and warm temperature months will result in far superior traction over “all season” tires. Use during the winter months/cold temperatures drastically reduces traction and exponentially increases stopping distance as the compound becomes less sticky.

Ask a Question

What type of tread life would be expected out of these? I know that it varies from driver to driver especially based on usage. I am looking for something that will last longer than the Pireli Pzero factory tires. I live in Florida and dont feel as though the factory tires lasted long enough.

Rock85

  • Yes, the pirelli's have been suffering in life span due to ford pumping out more, and more powerful mustangs every other year it seems, with out upgrading the PZero's. my 07 V6 stockers lasted 60k! my 13 GT 5.0 stockers lasted 28K and that was pushing it. These micky T's are created by performance nuts that do not particularly care about tread life... 20K and there done... However the perfomance you get out of them are amazing.

tires What is average amount of miles you can expect out of Mickey Thompson Street Comp tires - figuring in about 30 runs per year at the track

  • I am just getting to ready to replace my first set of M/T Street Comps. I bought the first set in August 2014. I put 30,000 miles on them. No track runs. But a lot of spirited street driving! I absolutely love these tires.

i have 2011 shelby rims, 2013 GT. 19x9, 19x10 I am looking for the best fit tire for 19x9, 19x10 shelby rims for my 2013 mustang gt. I like Mickey Thompsons. Street use only, but good for wet and dry.

ductape

  • The Mickey Thompson Street Comp Tire is definitely a great tire. The wet performance is not bad but this tire is mainly meant for dry traction along with other summer tires. I definitely think you will be happy with this tire, especially around the turns where it seems to hook best, and with some careful driving in the wet conditions you should be just fine.

Question Resolved

will these fit a lowered mustang? I lowered my 2014 mustang gt on SR lowering springs. So, about a 1.5" front and rear. Will these tires fit without rubbing? would 255/35/19 fit better? thank you

  • The Mickey Thompson Street Comp Tire - 255/40-19 (05-17 All) will have no problem with fitting on your car.

    Mickey Thompson Street Comp Tires

My car (2013 Mustang GT with Track Package) came with Pirelli Summer Ultra Performance Tires. Rated to 220 mph triple A etc. ratings at $334.00 each. I did not get 30,000 miles out of those tires. I replaced them with Mickey Thompson Street Comp Tires at $239.00 each and got 40,000 miles out of them. Would have probably got 3-5k more out of them except had some bad camber ware on my front end that I keep getting checked but I'm told my front end is in specks. Bottom line, liked them enough to replace them with another set of the same!

    Mickey Thompson Street Comp

The Mickey Thompson 255/40/19s replaced my original Pirelli PZero 245/45/19s which lasted 33k. The difference was night and day! They are a much smoother running tire. Tracking is spot on. Cornering seems to be a lot better on dry and wet road conditions. Have a trip cross country coming up and can't wait to give these tires a workout! Side note! I did get a road force balance and a full alignment which everyone should do when replacing their tires.

    great all around tire

This tire is great all around. I have been running it on the front end of my daily driver 2013 5.0 for the last 1600 miles. So far I have absolutely nothing to complain about. It looks beefy, It handles well even in rain, and it is smooth and quiet. I am currently also running its big brother the Micky Thompson 285s on the rear, but I am positive this tire is more than capable of handling the rear power of the 5.0 even better than the stock 235/255 Pirelli's. The only down side that I can think of, however might be the somewhat short tread life. At around 16-22 thousand miles (some people punish their tires more then others) you will need a new set. For the $$$ you can't beat it

    Nice tires

I went from all season Falcons to theses tire and could not be happier- I guess that you could spend more and get stickier tires, but for the money theses tires do not disappoint - great traction and very quiet. They also look great!

    M/T street comp tires

These are a fantastic replacement tire for the stock pirelli p zero. WOT Acceleration is much more planted and traction through the corners is much better. The wet traction is also much better, but this is still a summer tire so still gotta be careful in rain.

Great Tires, Summer Only means Summer Only

I have nothing but great things to say about these tires. They hook up extremely well and perform better than expected through wet road conditions. My only warning is that summer only tires really do mean "summer only". I live in the north east, and driving on these tires on days below 30 degrees should be done with caution. The overall grip of the tire is substantially reduced with cold temperatures (as is to be expected). Not a complaint in any way, but just a warning to those living in cold temperature environments - If you buy these tires, get a set of winter rubber, or garage your car during the cold months.

    great looks and performance

These tires look awesome and perform even better. They are very grippy in dry conditions. I do not drive my car in rain so I am not sure the wet driving, but I could not imagine it is anything special. The ride definitely feels a bit stiffer after switching out of the stock pirellis, but for me performance is more important.

    Great Tires!

I got these Mickey Thompson Street Comps to replace the Sumitomos that had finally been worn down as far as they could go from when I originally got my wheel and tire kit. They grip great ride quiet, and look good. No more worrying about getting traction when pulling out into traffic! They also feel good around turns and are responsive to steering.

Great Tires and Cheaper than Stock

I purchased these for my 2012 GT Brembo car. First thing I noticed, the feedback that the tires give back. Just like the stock Pirellis, they almost tell you right before they are going to break loose. Ride is perfect, grip is out of this world for daily and spirited driving and wet traction is as-expected for a UHP tire; no hydroplaning so far even at 60+ mph. Basically, they feel and act exactly the same as the Pirelli P-Zeros UHP Summer tires that came with the car, but at $130 savings PER TIRE. They also look a little more muscular than the Pirellis. The ONLY drawback that I've found is the dirt and grime that come on the tires when new. It takes forever to get it all cleaned off and to get the tires looking black. Even some tire-black and tire shine doesn't 100% get rid of it after multiple cleanings and scrubbing, but none of that affects the tire itself. Overall, the Mickey Thompson Street Comp tire is fantastic and American Muscles customer service, shipping, and price is second to NONE!

    Pretty good

I like the look of the tire and it seems to stick pretty good. One thing I galled to realize right off the bat was the difference the size of tire from the stock was going to make on the speedometer. Make it say you are going about 5mph faster than you really are.. That can be tuned though. Other than that great choice

    Killer tires

I love everything about them. They tend to have zero traction for the fist minute of driving, but warm right up and feel like they are made of super glue. I recommend these tires if you are on a budget.
