Description
Improve Overall Performance. Improve your V8-powered Mustang's off-the-line responsiveness with a set of 4.30 gears from Motive. Steeper gears get you into your power band faster for improved acceleration and lower times. A set of 4.30 gears are a great choice for the performance-oriented Pony that still needs to be driveable on the street. Superior Construction & Precision Fit. These Motive ring and pinon gears are CNC cut from high grade 8620 gear steel, and factory lapped for precision fit. Each set is hardness tested prior to leaving the factory to ensure the highest quality. Unlike other brands, Motive Gears do not have a reputation for "gear whine".

Recommended Upgrade. Changing the rear axle gear ratio will throw off the calibration of your Mustangs speedometer, but a Ford Racing Speedometer Recalibration Tool is an inexpensive way to fix this issue.

Application. This Motive Performance Plus 4.30 Ring and Pinion Gear set will fit all 1999 to 2004 V8 Mustangs including the GT, Bullitt, Mach 1 and Cobra models. A master bearing kit is recommended by most installers, especially on high mileage vehicles, see drop down option above.

Technical Note. Installation costs will vary, but a good rule of thumb is between $250 and $300. Be sure to work with a reliable shop that you trust for installations. You can also save money on your installation labor by having your Trac-Lok rebuilt at the same time as your gears are installed, see drop down option above.

    Excellent product! Went from stock 3.27 Gears to the Motive 4.30's. Wow what a difference! Really wakes up the Ponies. $675 was for Gears, Tranny shift kit, Carbon fiber clutches, Trac Loc Rebuild, and X-Pipe install. 2500 rpms at 65 mph. Do not fear the gears!!! Well worth the $$$$$.     All I can say is my girlfriend was trying to find the "Oh Dang handle" after the install was finished haha but this is a very excitant mod if you was some "get up and go!" For your pony, I'd recommend this mod to anyone looking for some acceleration!

    These 4.30 gears were the perfect pick over the stock gears in my 2001 Cobra. They really woke it up! I highly recommend! Don't Fear the Gear!

    I HAVE A 99 MUSTANG GT 5-SPEED. FOR THE LAST 6 YEARS I HAD 4.10 GEARS. I JUST SWITCHED TO 4.30. IT IS A FANTASTIC CHANGE. HWY RPM GOES UP. SO, DRIVE THE SPEED LIMIT AT 2500RPM IN 5TH AND HAVE A BLAST ON THE STREETS WITH THE 4.30S. WORTH THE PRICE FOR WHAT FEELS LIKE A LOT MORE POWER AND REALLY FIERCE ACCELERATION!

    Wake Up Call!!!

    If you are on the fence to go with 4.10\'s or 4.30\'s with your mustang (manual). I say go all out with 4.30\'s. At 70 mph my tach rides at just a hair under 2.5k. The car strait up scoots. (Take your time with install) No gear howl to report. Great product. (Bearing kit w/shims is a must.) Great buying experience. Have and will buy from American Muscle again!!!

    Don't fear the gear

    I installed 4.10's in my 99 Cobra a few months after I bought it new. Soon after I wished I had put in the 4.30s. After blowing out my diff after 13 years of high demand driving, I stepped up the gear ratio. The high strung Cobra loves it. With a refreshed traction lok the gears installed perfectly. No whine, clunk, or any of the problems common to a high performance gear swap. The install kit came with everything I needed and the job took one day. I'd compare Motive gears with any brand out there, and after a proper break in, I'll hit the track to find the .3-.4 tenth's of time I think the upgrade will deliver.

    Excellent Performance!

    I have an 03 GT Automatic with every bolt on out there, except the Procharger! I was a little worried about going from the 3.27 stock gears to the 4.30's. Holy S*** the difference is amazing! The cost was the install of , gears, carbon fiber clutches, Tranny Shift kit, trac lock rebuild, and X-pipe. At 65mph I run at 2300 rpm's. The gears are amazing! Just make sure you have the tread to hold it on the road. I have 315/35/17 w/ Nitto Drag Radials and I smoke em at a 25mph roll. Time for new suspension! Do Not Fear The gears!
