How to Install a Plenum Extenstion Throttle Body Cover on your 2005-2010 Mustang GT

This car has the factory plenum intake cover with Running Pony Logo that was part of Ford’s Appearance Upgrade Package (Item 50097) and also has the fuel rail covers (Item 13403) already installed. Both items are available from American Muscle individually or as a combined kit (Item 13420).

Note: The throttle body extension cover is a close color match to the factory OEM plenum cover, but may not always be 100%. The color may vary slightly between the plenum cover and the throttle body extension cover.

1. Use an 8mm socket to loosen (do not remove) the two nuts holding the front of the plenum cover –Fig 3.      

2. Back the nuts off to the end of the studs as shown in –Fig 4.   

3. Position the throttle body extension cover onto the studs making sure the edges are flush with the plenum cover. Use your hand to hold the throttle body extension cover in place while tightening the two nuts onto the studs with an 8mm socket -Fig 5.   

4. Do not over torque the nuts because the covers are made of a composite plastic that can crack. The finished product should look like –Fig 6.
