Installation Time: Afternoon
January 20, 2014
Totally transformed my car
The hardest part of the install was working up the nerve to start removing the bumper. I had a few snags, though, mostly due to me not paying attention. I accidentally removed the outer grille assembly and not just the inner assembly (the inner assembly is the part you see when the bumper is on, the outer grille holds it all in place), and since I didn't think to install the new grille while it was off the bumper, I have a series of nice scratches that (thankfully) didn't make it all the way through the paint around the grille from the funky retainer clips Roush uses. Still, it's a pretty straightforward installation, and Roush makes it easy by providing detailed step-by-step instructions, complete with photos. Let my stupidity serve as a cautionary tale: Pay attention to the details.
I decided to do both the upper and lower grilles at once (and added a 3DCarbon grille badge with longer screws), so installation may have taken a little longer than it could have, but just an afternoon's work totally transformed the look of my car.
