Going through car wash? Will the tint stay on while going through car washes? How long they do they last?

XSlashDashX Year: 2001 Model: V6

  • Yes, you can go through car washes after installing these brake light tints without a problem. Only thing you should not do is power wash the vinyl. These tints are made of a high grade, durable vinyl that should last for approximately 5+ years. Hope this helps!

  • Personal preference, but I think the covers are stupid. I bought the tint myself.

Can you apply the tint in the cold?

Sam02 Year: 2004 Model: V6

  • Decals, tint, or paint are not recommended by any one I have ever talked to when temps are below 50 degrees or above 70. Reason being, materials will begin shrinking or expanding past those temps causing residual problems such as misshapen areas where pieces may pull back from the glue or excessive bubbling/peeling due to expansion/contraction. Another item to keep in mind is relative humidity too. Again, most folks I have talked to do not recommend relative humidity being above 50%, personally if its more than 40% i would be concerned that there may be moisture trapped under the decals, tinting or paint.

    tail light tint combo kit

this really looks great once its on, its tinted just right, not too dark, and looks 1000x better than those tail light covers. the only problem i had was it takes a LOT of patience to get them on without creases and bubbles, but in the end even if you do have some bubbling, its not noticable unless you look super close up to them. good buy

    Great Deal!

I ordered this tint package and couldn't be happier. The trick to installing them on the tail lights is heat and light stretching, but no too much or else you'll cause creases and finger imprints. I had a couple small creases and bubbles on the outer corner lights, but that was my own fault. If installed correctly, these overlays work great! The 3rd brake overlay was as simple as it looks. No problems there! Yet another great product from American Muscle! Thanks guys!!

    Great Tint At Great Price

Tint went on really easy. I ordered tint from AutoBadges, it was not as easy to install and was over sized. Just like all of American Muscle's products price was great and fit perfect. Would definitely recommend.

Great Alternative for that black out look

I wanted the smoked (blacked) out look but couldn't spend a lot of cash. I saw these and gave them a try. At first they bigger piece wouldnt curve right and I got a bit worried. After I took my time and used my hands to keep working the area it fit really good. I don't have a hair dryer or heat gun, but I used an electric heating pad and it made the sticker very forgiving. Had 3 air bubbles after it was all said and done. I took a small needle and pushed it into the center of the bubble. After running the squeegee over the lights about 3 or so more times that afternoon and leaving it to cure overnight. The next day bubbles were gone and it looked awesome. The only thing that sucked was the third brake light. This one a heat source will help because its hard to make the two look flush together but after working it over and over it also looked a lot better once it cure for a day. I also took lights off to do them inside since its 30 degrees up in Wisconsin. All in all they look good and saved me a chunk of cash.

    2000 v6 Mustang

My car needed some style and a more sporty look so I bought these. All I can say is they look AMAZING! My car looks soooo more aggresive. By the way the shipping was SUPER fast! It took me about two and a half hours to put it all on my car. The best tool to put this on your car is your hand. Rub it with your hand and take all the creases out with your hand. Spray the tint with tons of water so you can more easily flatten all the bubbles out. Kinda difficult to put on, but with alot, and i mean alot of patience, you can make it look perfect. Recommend this to any mustang owner.

Affordable Semi Permanent Brake Light Darkening

I bought these for my Girlfriend's black 2000 coupe. The fitment was great, getting all the bubbles out of the tint took some work but the over result is great. Wetting down the area so you can move the tint around saves a lot of headaches. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable way to darken your brake lights.

    Great!

Takes a lot of patience to get these on correctly with no bubbles, but they eventually smooth out and fit perfectly. Great look when done!

    Take your time...

My car is the True Blue GT. It was easy to install the inner two sections of each taillight. I made it easy on myself by cutting down the excess surrounding paper on each piece of tint. When it comes to the outside pieces; this is where you need a lot of patience. Not to mention a hair dryer or something similar to blow hot air. It will help you stretch the material and smoothen out when needed to attach on the curves. I love the item...much cheaper than buying and installing the smoked taillights.

    Smoked Brake Light Tint Kit

Saved a lot of money over buying the actual lens but I still got the same result. Only took about 15 minutes since since I have experience. Don't have to worry about these getting ripped off by some jerk either. And they wont break like the cheap plastic cover you can buy. Thanks AM!
