How to install a Steeda Strut Tower Brace on your 1986-1993 Mustang

The purpose of the strut tower brace is to strengthen the chassis and prevent shock tower flexing under hard cornering. 

1. Remove the windshield wipers and grill. 

2. Remove the ignition coil shroud. Loosen the wires on the top of the strut towers to make room for the strut tower brace. 

3. Place the strut tower brace over the engine with the small flat plate against the firewall. Use caution to prevent any contact between the strut tower brace and the battery. Reroute the wires on the strut tower as necessary to go around the brace. 

4. Press down firmly on the strut tower brace to seat the brace on the strut towers. Hold the brace evenly against strut tower and firewall and mark the holes with grease pencil at strut towers. 

5. Drill (4) four strut tower holes with a 5/16" bit. 

6. Hand start the strut tower bolts to semi-snug, then drill firewalll holes to 5/16” using the strut tower brace as a guide. 

7. Install bolts at fire wall and tighten. 

8. Tighten strut tower bolts. 

9. Reinstall the grill and windshield wipers.
