If your 2009 to '13 F-150 is in need of a new O2 sensor, you should be considering NTK's Performance Oxygen Sensor. This is a good replacement whether you have a dreaded check engine light, or you're running lean, or if you need a new sensor to meet your local emission inspection. This is also an easy fix if you start to notice poor performance in fuel economy. NTK offers OEM quality and it's designed to plug right into the factory harness at a price that won't break the bank. Because of the design, I'm gonna be giving this an easy one our of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. Expect it to take about an hour or less to complete. One of the most common reasons for a check engine light is a failed oxygen sensor. This sensor keeps track of the exhaust gasses exiting your motor and it tells the engine's computer to adjust your air to fuel ratio, as needed. This reading is very important to get right and once the sensor starts to fail your truck may show symptoms like a loss in power or a decrease in fuel economy. Usually, a bad O2 sensor will throw what's called a lean code. This means your engine is burning with too much air and if left alone it could lead to future problems down the line like a failed catalytic converter or even burnt valves or bad head gasket. So, regardless of your states regulations on emissions you'll still want to replace your sensors as needed to keep your rig running like new. NTK designed their oxygen sensor to meet or exceed OEM quality. You're getting a waterproof factory harness connector. The sensor itself is built with the same specifications as the Ford sensor to avoid any fitment issues. The sensor element is made from ceramic for accurate reading and reliability. This will guarantee you'll regain any lost power from your old faulty sensor. At a price of just south of $100, this is a great value for an OEM quality sensor. Almost all of our other sensors on our site start around this price, depending on model year and location. The same replacement sensor from your local dealer starts around double this price, and can go up from there, not even counting the install. This is a plug and play design that I'm giving one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter, expected to take around 30 minutes to an hour. The tools you'll need are a ratchet and socket for your sensor, and some penetrating oil to make taking it out easier. First step, is to locate your faulty sensor and lubricate. Use your socket to unthread the sensor and then disconnect the electrical connector. Thread the new sensor into location, after it has been tightened, reconnect the electrical harness. When you're happy with the fitment, start your truck to make sure no check engine lights. That's my review and install on NTK's Performance Oxygen Sensor. Regain Lost Power. A bad oxygen (aka O2) sensor can cause poor performance, lousy fuel economy, the dreaded check engine light, and even cause you to fail emissions testing. So replace the worn out Front Left (upstream) Sensor with brand new NTK Sensor for superior, consistent performance.

Exceeds OEM Quality. NTK designed the sensor with a waterproof factory-fitted connector to ensure a perfect fit every time. This Oxygen Sensor meet or exceed OE specifications and are built with the highest quality materials and craftsmanship to ensure a superior quality direct replacement for your worn or failed OEM sensors.

Application. This NTK Performance Oxygen Sensor is designed to be a direct performance replacement for the F-150. Please see the NTK Performance Oxygen Sensor - Front Left (upstream) applications below:

4.6L Application Notes. To determine what version of the 4.6L is in your truck, you would need to refer to your VIN number. If the 8th digit in the VIN # is "W" it is the 4.6L 2V. If the 8th digit in the VIN # is "8" it is the 4.6L 3V.
