How to Install AEM Brute Force Cold Air Intake - Gunmetal on your Mustang

  • 10MM Socket

Prepare Vehicle


  • Park on level surface
  • Set parking break
  • If engine has run within the past two hours let it cool
  • Disconnect negative battery terminal
  • Remove Stock Intake System

*DO NOT TIGHTEN HOSE CLAMPS UNTIL INSTRUCTED TO DO SO / With Exception of PCV & IAC Hose Clamps
*The screen will not be reused with the MAF sensor


Step 1

  • Attach AEM coupling and hose clamps

Step 2

  • Insert AEM Inlet Pipe into coupler

Step 3

  • Attach IAC hose and secure with provided hose 5/8” hose clamps
  • Attach AEM provided breather hose for PCV and secure with hose clamps

Step 4

  • Assemble Air horn/ MAF sensor adapter to bracket
  • Install provided gasket between MAF Sensor and AEM air horn
  • (The MAF sensor has an airflow arrow marked on it; the bracket should point towards the same direction)

Step 5

  • Attach coupler and hose clamps


Step 6

  • Loosen Bolt, attach bracket with bolt provided. The bracket’s slot should be between the washer and stock bracket

Step 7

  • Attach inlet pipe and coupler with provided clamps

Step 8

  • Connect AEM Air Filter to coupler with Large Hose Clamp

STEP 9

  • Tighten hose clamps
  • Inspect vehicle for loose parts
  • Make sure you have proper hood clearance when closing the hood
  • Reconnect Negative Battery
  • Idle vehicle for 3 minutes
  • Test Drive Vehicle
  • Enjoy!
