Street Performance. This Ford Racing cam is a excellent replacement choice for good low-end torque, a significant increase in top-end power above 4,000 RPM, and a fair Idle.

Legendary Ford Racing Quality. When you're adding performance parts to your Pony, you can't go wrong by installing parts from the folks that know it best. Ford Racing's legendary quality ensures a perfect fit and years of hassle-free use.

Required Upgrade. This Ford Racing B303 Performance Camshaft requires upgraded valve springs for proper operation. Valve spring requirements: 120 lbs valve seat pressure minimum 295 lbs open. For stock cylinder head applications, the use of Ford Racing M-6513-A50 valve springs installed at 1.820" are recommended. For use with aftermarket cylinder heads, Ford Racing M-6513-BH valve springs are recommended.

Application. The Ford Racing B303 Performance Camshaft is designed for use in the 1985-1995 5.0L V8 Mustangs with a roller cam block and 1.60 rockers.

Technical Notes. Ford Racing recommends the use of a Hi-Stall torque converter for Mustangs equipped with automatic transmissions. Performance camshafts work only on EFI engines with mass air induction systems.

b303 w/ speed density I own a 87 Gt Convertible with speed density. is this cam working or I need to swap to MAF? Someone says it has hunting idle problems and drivability issues....thanks

Well I need a stall converter and if so what size? For this cam


  • When installing the Ford Performance B303 Performance Camshaft, a stall converter is not typically required, though this will vary based on mods and usage. Stall speed requirements will vary greatly on these factors as well.

when using this cam will the stock valve springs work with stock explorer heads? (they have the gt40 markings)


I have a 1990 Mustang GT. All stock 5.0 with the only modification being Flowmasters American Thunder exhuast system. I am interested in the B303 due to it being a mild over stock cam (nothing too crazy, but love the sound) so what would you reccomend to purchase along with this cam for it to still be a nice daily ? (Right now I still have stock heads, cam, headers, etc.)


  • Hello! The Ford Performance B303 Performance Camshaft will require the use of Ford Performance Performance Valve Springs MPN#: M-6513-A50. Also if you have an automatic transmission, we recommend you using a Hi-Stall Torque Converter.

I have a Basic Stock 5.0L 1991 MAF with 5 speed. Im basically not looking for more power or Drivability, but more for the Sound. I just want a lumpy idle. What will be required. I currently have Exhaust and thats it. thanks

    B303 Ford Racing Cam

    Very nice for street cam, with 24 lb injectors and Mass Air, is a great performer. Idle is bumpy but still smooth but definitely not OEM smooth. Sound nice also from 2800 - 5500 RPM. I definitely made right decision to install it. . Bob N

    LOVE IT!

    I had this cam installed in my 1988 Mustang GT. As a daily driver I didn't want a cam that was too big. So I opt'd for the B303 and couldn't be happier. Sounds Great!

    Great Cam, can't go wrong with Ford Racing

    The cam itself didn't take all that long because the engine was on a stand getting rebuilt. If it was done in the car i would think it would take significantly longer. The fit was good and it has a great idle and power band.

    The cam went in very easily. Sounds awesome. Sounds very CHOPPY. Gets alot of compliments from others on the way it sounds. Great cam for power increase on a stock 5.0.

    B303 is the best inexpensive cam for stock bottom end!

    I build ford engines for a living and I personally think the FRPP B303 SBF camshaft is the best bang for the buck, performance improvement is my favorite for the stock 87-95 Mustang 5.0 pistons.

    Great loping cam good for beginning setups

    I paired this cam with a pair of GT40P port and polished heads with 1.7 roller rockers and a tune from Bama. Wow the cam really brings the power from 1500 to 6000 rpms and has a nasty lope at idle. Very happy with the quality of the product.

    Very Lumpy

    This cam is great for street rods. It has a very lumpy idle and a great overall sound. It also has a nice performance gain. I would definitely recommend this cam. It is 10x better than a stock cam.

    Great cam!!

    I love it

    This cam was a bit of a pain to install. But the end result is a nasty lope, a few horses, and better throttle response. The fox breaks more necks than ever.
