Q & A (2 Questions, 4 Answers) Ask a Question

Will these fit an 86 GT Convertible front too? Looking for adjustable shocks for autocross/street use. Car has stock springs.

Good Question (0) (0)
  • As the description shows, these are "rear" shocks, thus would not work for the front. The front requires "struts", which are quite a bit different. I do highly recommend the KYB brand though, and you'll find the front struts to be just as economical.

Answer This Question

How much shorter are these than the OEM shocks? if at all?

  • They are the same length. If lower is what you are looking for that is achieved with springs. Shocks have some adjustability to height in thier effective stroke. Most shocks can tolerate 2 inches of lowering.

    Revived my 93 GT's rear.

I just installed these yesterday afternoon, and the difference is a great improvement. These replaced the factory worn out units on my 93. Installation was pretty simple, and well worth it. After taking my car out last night for a 1.5 hour drive the difference in cornering, handling, and ride quality is awesome. I am running these on setting 3 since my car isn't a track car but I am more concerned with ride comfort, and handling. Now a railroad track doesn't feel as if your in a log truck. I haven't installed the kyb quad shocks as of yet, but this week when they come in that's my next addition. For ride quality, adjustments, and robustness, you can't go wrong with these, and I would gladly purchase these again.
