      Review & Installation Video

Hey, Stephanie with, and I'm going to be talking about the Koni STRT shocks and struts available for your '87 to '93 V8 Mustangs. Koni is, no doubt, one of the premier manufacturers of shocks and struts in the world, whether we're talking about OEM or aftermarket suspension tuning, and they've been making variations of the modern-day shock absorber since the 1930s. If you're looking to make your Mustang ride and handle better, Koni would be a great place to start. The STRTs are going to be Koni's entry level dampener with the next step up being Koni's sports or yellows, which are adjustable. So with that being said, the STRTs will cost less but they're non-adjustable when it comes to the dampening. They will still provide you with a sporty and firm ride and, more importantly, they're better designed to be used with a wide variety of aftermarket spring options, especially when you compare them to the factory shocks and struts. The Konis here are a twin-tube shock and strut design, and that's something that you'll find with a lot of the aftermarket dampeners in this price range. If you wanted to go monotube, like a Bilstein, for instance, then you'll have to spend a few more bucks, but again, if you're looking for a good solid upgrade over your worn out factory shocks and struts, then the STRTs are a great option. And a lot of customers have told us just that. Just read some of the customer reviews on the product pages, and you'll see how many customers feel about the performance of the STRTs.Getting the new shocks and struts installed really isn't too hard of a job, especially if you have access to a lift. Either way, just figure a few hours to get the fronts and rears knocked out and don't forget a spring compressor when you're getting ready for the install. As always, guys, you know that you can reach out to a Mustang expert at any time if you ever have any questions about a particular product or even an install and they'd be more than happy to help you out.So if you're looking to upgrade the worn out, or possibly blown, factory shocks and struts for your daily driver or your weekend warrior, and you don't want to break the bank while doing so, then be sure to check out the Koni STRTs for your '87 to '93 V8 Mustang here at

        Great upgrade

Fit , look, perform great. Perfect upgrade when lowering car. Stiff but forgiving and don't forget a pinion snubber an bump stops when changing ride height. More to it than a spring swap.

        Great value and performance

Very impressed. For $110 the car rides excellent. No more jolting in the rear under uneven road conditions and moderate bumps. Would recommend.

What a nice solid ride for the price

I just recently purchased my 90 vert 5.0 and it was lowered. The ride was horrible to say the least but I did some research on replacement shocks and struts and was up in the air. Decided to pull the plug and buy these and love them. The mustang had Monroe sensatracs on the rear and Napa reflex struts on the front. It was horrible especially being it's lowered 2 inches. The price was unbeatable and words cannot describe the difference these made even being 2 inches low

I need to know if this shock will keep my 1988 from bottoming out as I have the KYB excels on it now,But think they are for stock height app..I have the SR Springs on it and it bottoms out..So I need a shock to match the springs

      • Hi, These KONI STR.T Rear Shocks are a great replacement and should keep you from bottoming out, But depending what your build is you might want to check out the KONI Sport Adjustable Rear Shock Item #384828 they are adjustable and will allow you to stiffen or soften the ride. • These will not raise the vehicle.

Will this fix tire rubbing in the back? I have 245/40s on 17 inch rims which is supposedly supposed to be fine but they rub after every bump I think it's because of the shocks

      • Unfortunately we would need more information in order to determine what causes the rubbing in order to say if this would help or not. the most common causes of rubbing are wheel offset, ride height, and spring rate/spring age.
