Will this take the place of the factory cooler in the radiator Does it need to be ran in conjunction with the factory cooler in the radiator?

  • In my experiences with auxillary cooling systems you can go either way, although running it in conjunction with the factory system is probably the best way to do it. It really depends on what you are trying to accomplish by installing the cooler.

    Must have for auto trans

I was having problems with my transmission overheating, so a transmission cooler was suggested to me. After researching this one I decided to get it. My transmission no longer overheats. Installation wasn't that bad. It took about an hour/ hour an a half. Overall I would recommend this product to anyone that has an auto tranny.

    Great part!!

Got this after installing my 3k stall torque converter to keep the trans cool. Ran it in series after the stock cooler in the radiator. Simply plumb it in with some nice brass fittings and some 3/8" TRANS COOLER line. (make sure you buy trans cooler line) I ran a relay with the ignition trigger off the coolant bottle. Tuck the relay under the cover next to the coil. The fan sounds good, and really pushes the air. Installed on my LX Foxbody. Submitted a few pics.

    Easy

Fan is well built and easy to install. May want to consider keeping it out of the wind flow (aka behind bumper) and then either operate with a manual switch or a temperature probe control. That way the normal highway air flow is not impeded but when temps rise and air flow is limited, the cooler can do it's thing!
