Aggressive Sound. The Pypes "Pype-Bomb" Axle-Back with its Muffler Delete design provides the most aggressive sound and free flowing exhaust possible with the stock cats in place to produce more power that you can feel and hear.

Resonator Tips. The engineers at Pypes designed their new muffler delete exhaust system with specially engineered tips which include resonators to eliminate that loud annoying popping noise that other muffler delete kits can cause.

Application. This Pype-Bomb Axle-Back exhaust system is designed to fit the the 2005 to 2010 GT and Shelby GT500 Mustangs for show quality looks and impressive sound. This axle-back is made to be a direct bolt on to the stock location without any modifications required.

Technical Note: Americanmuscle recommends adding the 2005+ Mustang 304 Stainless Steel Exhaust Hanger Kit from the drop down option above, to provide more strength, stability and a cleaner installed appearance. If you have a 2007 Mustang you may need the kit for correct installation.

I’m Justin with, and today I’m going to be taking a closer look at the Pypes Pype-Bomb Axle-Back Exhaust system for all 2005-2010 Mustang GTs. The first thing you’ll notice when taking a look at the Pypes kit is that there is no muffler incorporated into the design whatsoever. However, you get this massive 4 inch tip, which is resonated, and that’s going to help keep the excessive popping to a minimum. Since this is a straight through muffler delete system, you can expect maximum flow and an extremely aggressive exhaust note. We do actually have this kit installed on our 2007 bolt-on build up in conjunction with Pypes Off-Road X-Pipe, and let me tell you, it’s one of the loudest exhausts I’ve ever heard. The entire kit’s constructed from 100% 304 grade stainless steel and should bolt on easily in about an hour’s time using some basic hand tools. Now let’s hear how Pypes Pype-Bomb Axle-back sounds compared to our factory exhaust.

What is the weight of this exhaust in comparison with the stock?

  • I installed them on my 2010 Mustang GT Premium and they are much lighter than the stock mufflers I replaced. They bolted up perfectly without any adjustment and sound mean and throaty. You will completely enjoy the change.

do the exhaust fit into the stock hanger kit? when i was about to order these exhaust the stanless steel exhaust hanger kit was not available to order, do i need them?

  • The stainless hangers provide more strength, stability and a cleaner installed appearance. Sometime in 2007, Ford changed the hangers from rubber and steal to an all rubber design. You will need the kit for proper installation if you have the all rubber hangers. Please check to see which you have before placing your order. Pype Bomb Axle Backs

This exhaust sounds amazing on my 2010 GT. Very aggressive and loud! These axle backs have a tuned, straight pipe, sound to them. The install was rather easy and they line up perfectly in the bumper cut outs. The videos of this exhaust do not do it credit. You have to hear in person. A+ product. I would recommend to anyone looking for a mean and loud sound.

I just purchased this exhaust for my 06 gt. I bolted it up in 15 minutes without lifting the vehicle....but I'm not exactly a massive guy either. Everything installed clean with no clearance issues and no bending of the hangers. Exhaust is exactly what they advertise it as. It is high quality materials and it pops just a little bit on cold revs. Once it has warmed up and you smash the is a true screamin' deamon. Thanks AM

    pypes pipe bombs

i installed these axleback in about 2 hours in my garage. the stock exhaust is a pain to get off. once i got these off the install went easy from then on. right away i noticed that these have a nice deep tone. great price! best sounding and loudest axlebacks i have heard. my car has a good clean, deep rumble. since then i also put a pypes off road h pipe on as well. i had to order the h pipe from somewhere else, but anyone looking for a nice deep tone this is a must buy! then if you want a classic muscle car sound and really loud exhaust, i suggest a pypes off road h pipe.

    What can I say?? AWESOME!

AM of course has the best shipping and packaging in the world. Now...for the Pypes pipes...DAMN! These not only fit perfectly onto my 2010 GT but they look even better than I expected. Just as others have said there is no real bad interior noise at all like you might expect...very powerful sounding. It even made a guy in an RT8 think about wanting to drag! HA! Love them! This is a great product at an even greater price. I am glad I decided to do this. Thanks PYPES and AM!

    Pype Bomb Axle Backs

I have a 2008 Mustang GT/CS. When I bought my mustang in 2008, I installed Flowmaster American Thunder Axle Back exhaust. I liked the deep throaty sound, that was otherwise tame when you didn't mash the gas petal. I recently started racing my mustang at the local 1/8th mile track and realized that my sound was alot more tame than I thought. So I looked at the Pypes Pype Bomb Exhaust delete system. The Pype Bombs are very reasonably priced. Installation was a breeze. I spent more time taking off the Flowmasters than installing the Pype Bombs. All I can say about the sound is WOW!!! The youtube videos don't do the Pype Bombs justice. I wish I had done more research on mufflers in 2008 when I bought the Flowmasters. My neighbor has SLP Loudmouths on his mustang. Mine sound every bit as good as his, has 4" tips (his has 3" tips), and cost a little more than $100 less. I believe that these are the best sounding pipes for the buck. I couldn't be happier!

    Best Money I've Spent

This exhaust will leave you speechless plain and simple. It sounds good at all rpms with no drone at all and will turn heads everywhere and I really mean everywhere. My stang now sounds very deep and has the nice raspy sound I look for. I also noticed a slight increase in hp compaired to the old restrictive stock mufflers. These are a breeze to install and the 4 inch tips make the car a lot more aggressive looking. If you're having second thoughts just go for it, I guarantee you will be happy and it only took 2 days for them to show up on my doorstep. The only problem is that they intimidate other drivers and they always want to race.

Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

    October 10, 2011

After spending quite a bit of time on American Muscle and listening to each axel back (at least a hundred times) I finally moved on these. After about an hour of easy work, I had em on and ready. The clamps that come on the stock exhaust are tack welded on to your old pipes so be prepared to break the weld. I did it rather quickly with a hammer and small chisle. My Mustang is an 05 so I didn't have to buy the aftermarket hangers they recommend, they look nice but my factory hangers worked perfect. When I started my Mustang to pull it down off the ramps I was amazed at how deep and VICIOUS they sounded. The video sounds much better than the others but it dosn't do em justice. They are louder than stock of course but not so bad the neighborhood will start an angry mob and come after you. Everyone that has heard them have been very impressed. Couple of cougars comming outta my local watering hole asked if my stock baby was a race car. Needless to say I highly recommend these. You will not be disappointed!

    Bad @$$

These are by far the best sounding axle-back exhuast for the s197s. I had flow masters and these are much louder and more aggressive. I would rate it a 5 star but the install required some alterations... looking for a loud throaty sound, dont think just buy. The price is perfect.

    Awsome new product

First, thanks to AM for excellent service. Now, the pype bombs: A little bit too loud to sneak out of the driveway on a cold start, but shouldnt rattle the neighbor's windows. Creep away at low revs and enjoy the deep rumble. Sanely pull away from the neighborhood and Mustang lovers hearts will melt. Hit the freeway on ramp, give it some juice and unleash the fury. Settle in at cruising speeds and you may swear its still stock. Nearly drone free at any RPM. Drive sensibly and get some attention. Add headers and/or an off road mid pipe and get everyones attention. Did I mention the quality of the pipes I received exceeded my expectations at this price point or that they look great and fit perfectly?
