Description
Performance Upgrade. If you are looking for a clutch that will handle the added power of your modded 'Stang but can still be run on your daily driver, RAM HDX clutches are for you. They balance high performance features like higher clamp loads with great driveability, resulting in a clutch you can drive every day without getting a leg workout on every shift.

Daily Driver Friendly. Designed for 'Stangs with the type of bolt-on mods and mild power enhancements that make driving your Pony so much fun, they're still street-friendly and are grippy enough for strip use.

200 Series Organic Disc. RAM HDX Clutch kits are designed to provide increased clamp loads compared to stock for a strong "bite," paired with RAM's 200 series organic clutch for street friendliness. The 200 series disc is a heavy duty organic facing material with an eight spring center hub for excellent shock absorption and engagement.

Application. This RAM HDX kit is designed for the Late 2001-2004 GT, 1999-2004 Cobra, 2001 Bullitt, and 2003-2004 Mach 1 with the T-45, TR-3650, or T-56 transmission with a 10 spline input shaft.

flywheel? can I use my stock flywheel if I get it resurfaced?

  • After checking with Exedy Customer support personel for my own application. They insisted that most Aftermarket clutch manufacturers Do Not recommend resurfacing flywheels, especially vehicles with nonadjustable hydraulic slave cylinders. If it is scored or heat cracked enough to need resurfacing, they recommend replacing.

    Horrible

    I had this clutch professionally installed. It had excessive chatter, the shop and i both drove it a couple times no more than 20 miles altogether. We decided to pull it back out and noticed a defect on the pressure plate.I called Ram and they do not seem to want to fix the problem. I will never buy a ram product again

    Go with another clutch

    Very surprised at the positive reviews on this clutch. While it may hold the power you are looking for, this clutch is the stiffest clutch I have ever felt by far. Huge pain driving in any kind of traffic. I had this clutch professionally installed with the adjuster kit (also a bad decision). Be careful when choosing an aftermarket clutch, and know that no matter what you go with, it will never feel the same as your stock clutch.

    Smooth Clutch

    Included everything but the pilot bearing, but was a painless install and the clutch performs much better than the original stock one. I've only been able to put on a couple hundred easy miles so far because I am breaking in the rebuilt transmission. Great performance, Good Price and like always very fast shipping! Thanks AM!

    Great Clutch

    Simply put Ford wanted $600.00 for their name clutch and close to $400.00 for a generic clutch from a local supplier. This clutch has a better feel than when the car was new also purchased the clutch adjuster kit . Also had King Cobra Clutch. This is a keeper.

    Great Product, Great Customer Service

    Great product, feels very smooth when shifting, the clutch feels alot stiffer than the stock clutch...only had it for a couple days though, so maybe it will get softer...American Muscle great customer service, I had to return two clutches...one because I bought the wrong clutch for my mystang...i bought the (mid 01 mustang ram clutch) I needed the (late 01 ram clutch) they let me return no problem...second, I got my (late 01 clutch) mechanic says its defective...idk avout that but I returned it no charge, n they sent me a new one...

    ram hdx`

    excellent clutch choice for over 400hp could not be happier with its performance in launching unfortunately it is NOT as friendly on the street as made out to be . it always feels ready to "jump" with a harder pedal feel though that is great when racing not ideal for traffic . having owned multiple mustangs from at least 4 generations (most manual) i recommend it, but be it known its fairly hard

    Good product

    The clutch works perfectly. Just make sure you give it a proper break in before you go roasting any tires. Drive for about 500 miles then you can go have some fun. No slipping and came with everything I needed.

    ram hdx clutch

    though i only have100 miles on the new clutch so far it is great. the pedal pressure is not to firm. it is not overly grabby no chatter so far i was a little disappointed that it was a reman. pressure plate but all around i am please.

    Heavy Clutch

    I wanted a heavy duty clutch for my '04 GT. The Ram HDX product was certainly heavy duty, but it came with unacceptably heavy pedal pressure to operate it! In all other respects the clutch was excellent, and probably a good choice for some form of racing, but too heavy for the street. I think the ad copy should reflect this fact. I replaced the clutch with an OEM unit, and the Ram HDX clutch is sitting in its box at my place with 300 miles on it. It is my understanding that this did not fit your return guidelines.

      Yes, unfortunately once a clutch is opened / installed, it can not be returned. Hearing you describe this clutch as having a heavy pedal, I would recommend installing this, or any aftermarket clutch, along with a new quadrant, adjustable cable and firewall adjuster so that you can obtain the appropriate clutch engagement as well as pedal feel, which should not be stiff. Aftermarket clutches should also be installed with a matching flywheel of the same manufacturer so that the flywheel and clutch will engage properly and have the correct clearances. I am sorry to hear you had a problem with your clutch initially, but I hope these tips will help if you wish to try again next time your clutch needs replacing.     GREAT DEAL

    Great clutch at a good price. Feels very similar to stock clutch. I haven't had my car very long so it pretty close to stock still so no worries about needing heavy duty clutch. I do a lot of in town driving and didn't want to have a super hard clutch to deal with. Everything lined up perfectly. Very happy customer.
