Hey, what's going on, guys? Adam here with AmericanMuscle.com. Today I'm bringing you a detailed overview of the Ford Racing Performance throwout bearing fitting all '79 to '04 V8 Mustangs. In this video, I'll be touching on what exactly a throwout bearing is, what it does, when it may be a good time to pick up a new one like this one here from Ford Racing, what makes this one better than your stock bearing, and I'll even do an overview of the installation which, by the way, will get a full three out three on the wrenches on the difficulty meter simply because you will have to drop the transmission fully out of the vehicle just to get the job done correctly. So let's jump right into it.So, the Ford Racing Performance throwout bearing is going to be for the '79 to '04 V8 Mustang owner out there looking to switch out their throwout bearing because they're having difficulty engaging their clutch in a manual transmission or maybe hearing that dreaded squealing noise coming from the tranny. It's time to upgrade over the stock. So, in a nutshell, a throwout bearing is really the whole heart of the operation with clutch engagement. When you press your pedal in the throwout bearing inside the clutch Ford, it presses in the pressure plate's fingers, disengaging the clutch, allowing you to change gears. You'll know it's time switch out your stock of throwout bearing with an after-market one like the Ford Racing Performance throwout bearing when you're having trouble getting into gear, you feel like you're not fully engaging properly, or when you hear the squealing noise coming from the transmission letting you know your throwout bearing is going. So maybe your throwout bearing isn't bad just yet, but you're taking your transmission out to swap out your clutch and flywheel. Now if your transmission is coming out, no matter what the job is, it's probably a good time to take care of the throwout bearing while you have it out. This way you won't have to wait for it to go bad and drop the transmission all over again. Now it's not a hard job, it's just a time-consuming one that takes time from start to finish and you don't want to go through that twice if you don't have to.So this Performance throwout bearing is from Ford Racing, one of the most trusted names in performance parts for any generation of Mustang. This one here is a heavy-duty self-centering bearing design with a 1.063-inch input shaft diameter. It's built to last longer than most after-market options on the market. If you're looking for a reliable throwout bearing, this is definitely the way to go. But don't take it from me. Take it from our customers who have posted testimonials on the product page at americanmuscle.com. So price wise, for this particular option expect to be spending just about $50 which in my opinion is definitely an affordable way to replace a stock worn out throwout bearing with a new upgraded one from Ford Racing, or if you're just dropping transmission to replace clutch and flywheel and you want to get this out of the way. With that said, it's definitely an affordable price and a reliable one at that.So installation wise, like I said, this one is not a hard swap to do. The hardest part is dropping the transmission and getting everything out of the way to do so. With that said, you will be testing the toolbox for this one. You need a full set of tolls to get the job done. Definitely give this one a three out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, no shame in handing this one over to the professionals to get it done properly. Just to quickly wrap things up, guys, if you are the owner of a '79 to '04 V8 Mustang with a manual transmission installed and you're having trouble engaging your clutch or if you're hearing that dreaded squealing noise coming from your transmission, it may be time to pick up the Ford Racing Performance throwout bearing which is, of course, available right here at AmericanMuscle.com
