Nostalgic Styling. Add the cool vintage styling of the 60's to your modern manual pony with a classic ball style Shift Knob. This shift knob is completed in a satin finish that features the 6-speed shift pattern in contrasting black, making it the ideal addition to your interior.

High Quality Materials. This retro inspired Shift Knob is CNC Machined from a solid block of 100% billet aluminum that features a satin finish for superior durability and a cool classic look.

Simple Installation. Just unscrew your old stock shift knob off and screw the new knob on, it's like changing a light bulb. The knob includes a shift boot retainer.

Application. This Satin Retro Style Shift Knob is designed to fit the 2011-2014 GT and V6 equipped with the MT-82 6-speed manual transmission or Mustangs with a 12mm x 1.25 thread pattern shift handle.

How is this with the heat? Has anyone experienced this knob becoming very hot from the sun etc.?

    Great Shift knob... Not so great boot retainer...

    I was very pleased with the way this shift knob looks. It has a great weight to it and feels so "right" in my hand when shifting. My one concern, as was mentioned before, is the fit of the boot retainer. It would not go past the threads, no matter what I did... I even tried to sand down the paint a little to see if that would help, but it did not. So in the end I just used the retainer nut to keep the fitting tight on the shift knob and left off the boot retainer. It does not look "bad"... but it would look a whole lot better if the boot retainer actually fit correctly. All in all though, I am not dissatisfied. I just guess I will have to spend a little bit more money on a boot retainer that will fit.

    Boot retainer

    I just received the Satin Retro style shift knob. After reading the reviews, I bought the separate boot retainer. When I received the shift knob, the stock boot retainer that came with the shift knob was exactly like the extra boot retainer I bought. In other words, it is not necessary to buy the extra boot retainer. It sounds like AM was listening to the feed back. Might want to call to confirm this if your thinking about buying the additional boot retainer. Looks and feels great. Way better than the stock shift knob.

      You're correct. We have updated the retainer coming with the shift knob after hearing the original wasn't the greatest. If you're purchasing one of these, no need for the separate retainer. If you'd like to return the additional retainer, please do contact our customer service so they can get that taken care of for you!

    Good shift knob, lesser than stellar fit

    Like the title says. Don't get me wrong I love the shift knob, but one needs to realize a few things. The fit is good but not perfect as the knob is screwed down and then the boot retainer is loosened upwards to tighten the ball down in the proper orientation. This will result in a slight gap between the boot and the retainer that is only noticeable during installation. No one will know it's there but you will. Maybe the aftermarket boot would fix this, but I have a hard time spending money on a boot. I still recommend and like this product I just wish the boot retainer was a little longer. And before I forget, others have mentioned how hot this ball gets, but I would also point out that if you like to rest your hand on the shifter like I do that on a cold morning that it is painfully cold to the point that you won't be able to rest your hand till it warms up.

    LOOKS AND FEELS GREAT

    shift knob is a great weight and definitely feels nicer with the satin finish than the stock knob. i installed it with the upgraded boot retainer which i highly recommend. the fit was absolutely perfect so definitely get the retainer. looks great and well worth it!

    Retro satin shift knob

    This product is awesome. It adds just enough toughness while maintaining the sleek, sexy look of a shifter. It matches the interior perfectly and feels great in your hand. Its very good quality and installation was less than a minute.

    Looks good..... with additional $20 retainer

    Stock retainer is garbage. Does not even work with '13 without a big exposed gap on '13. Must buy the $20 Drake retainer for a $70 total. Not good. Looks good tho. Beware of extreme hot and cold weather. It is transferred to the knob. Especially heat from trans.

    Awesome satin shift knob. Terrible plastic boot retainer

    Very pleased with the the aluminum shift knob, but the plastic shift boot retain supplied is terrible. It would not fit over the non-threaded portion of the 2013 factory shifter. I found a chrome shift boot retainer from somewhere else, and it looks and functions. I don't fault AM because their service is great and the shift ball is really the most important part. Great price too!

    Shift Knob

    This is a great product especially if you want to upgrade. It gives the interior a bit more sporty look without it trying to give that look. The satin finish blends right in with the rest of the interior. The only reason I give the fit 4 stars is because you really need the boot adapter otherwise it's going to look weird. American Muscle should sell the boot adapter with all the shift knobs at one price.

    Nice Shifter knob, not so great hardware

    This is a really nice knob, it feels and looks just like the one you can get from Ford with the Premium upgraded interior. Nice feel as you shift through the gears. My one concern is the fit of the boot retainer, it would not go past the threads I even used a file to get all the paint out but there was no getting in on as intended. I ended up just using the retainer nut and leaving off the boot retainer. It looks ok but is a bit unfinished. Other than that the installation is a breeze, 5 minutes. This is definitely worth the money considering the one from Ford is over $200.00 I would recommend this knob it really goes well with the interior.

    Great shift knob, terrible retainer.

    Somehow this 4x2.5x2.5 box couldn't be shipped in the much larger box of the same order. Sent bigger box UPS and this one USPS, which took two additional days. Product looked great when I opened the small box. The manufacturing process on the retainer is garbage. Thread burrs in multiple spots inside the retainer. After removal of burrs and cleaning, the retainer would just not thread down far enough to get the shift knob on. Very frustrating but after a call to customer service, they are sending me a replacement. Good customer service but I just don't trust the product. Ordered tube style from SHR as a backup.
