Oil vapor from the crankcase recirculates into the air intake system because of backpressure in most vehicles, and this only gets worse once a supercharger is installed. Ford pickups are not immune to this problem, but 2009-2014 F-150 oil separators are an elegant solution that you can often install in 15 to 20 minutes. The oil separator fits inline in the PCV hose. Installing one separator on the side with the PCV valve clears around 80% of the air recirculating into the intake while installing two cleans all the air.
Without an oil separator in the breather system oil droplets condense out in the intake and cut the octane of your fuel. They also gum up valves and spark plugs which hurts combustion. A good oil separator helps your 2009-2014 Ford F-150 truck to deliver its full power, get the most out of its fuel, and makes the engine last a bit longer too. High quality separators like those we offer are made from billet aluminum or other tough materials, and often come with a knurled body so you can screw it off ever 2,000 miles or so and empty out an ounce or so of collected waste oil.
