Improves Handling. Your stock upper control arm has a design that can result in sudden, unpredictable changes in handling, especially under hard cornering or acceleration. By replacing your stock upper control arm with a J&M adjustable upper control arm, you'll enjoy better cornering, quicker launches, and eliminate the dreaded "wheel hop".

On Car Adjustable. The J&M Adjustable Upper Control Arm can be adjusted on-car for on-the-fly changes, and they are double adjustable so you can get settings just right.

Industry Leading Design. J&M uses a unique 3 piece poly-ball bushing combination to keep their bushing moving freely under cornering but maintain stiffness under acceleration. The result? Your Mustang’s rear end will stay plated with no wheel hop on hard launches! Or if it’s twisty roads you’re after, this’ll also stop the rear from jumping or skipping during turns when you want to push it to the limit.

Premium Quality. This J&M Adjustable Upper control arm is made with round tubing for superior strength and lightness and finished with a durable black powder coat. It features a one piece saddle style axle housing for strength and custom made pinion snubbers for superior fit and finish.

Application. This J&M Adjustable Rear Upper Control Arm is designed to fit all 2005-2010 Mustangs, including the V6, GT, Bullitt and GT500 Models perfectly. Sold individually.

J&M Rear Upper Control Mounting Bracket Is the J&M Upper Control Mounting Bracket a suggested use with this Control Arm?

Smokey66 Year: 2008 Model: GT

  • Yes. I would recommend using an aftermarket bracket with a new adjustable upper control arm...the stock stamped steel bracket can be used, but you will still get a lot of flexing where as a heavy duty upper mount will have limited or no flexing.

    Well Designed Piece

The J&M Mustang Adjustable Upper Control Arm is a very well designed piece of equipment. After lowering my 06 Mustang I needed to correct the location of my rear axel with an adjustable panhard rod. I used the J&M Adjustable Upper Control Arm to correct my pinion angle. Install was simple. Trouble free operation ever since. Wheel hop totally eliminated. It's all grip & rip now.

    J&M UCA

Eliminated wheel hop on 2005 GT and cut down on squat. Replaced diff bushing at same time. Tightened up suspension. PITA to install but worth results. Good quality from J&M. Better UCA then other brands costing more. Will replace LCAs with J&M and add J&M relocation brackets. and

An off duty Ford Mechanic installed the J&M Adjustable Upper Control mount. It was needed to adjust the pinion angle of the rear end after installing steeda springs, koni shocks and a one piece drive shaft, I also have the J&M adjustable panhard bar. I needed the J&M Upper to cure high speed vibration, which is gone! Thanks J&M and American Muscle! The car is now solid as a rock on the road.

    Good item

Bought this item to correct my pinion angle after installing a one piece driveshaft. Install was smooth it just takes time with those big bolts and lack of room under the car. To make adjustments to the uca you have to remember the jamb nuts turn the same direction to do the same thing. Righty tighty lefty loosy...IE one of them has reverse threads. It can get confusing trying to loosen those huge bolts when you first do it. I ended up using a huge 15 inch crescent wrench and locking plyers. Amazon sells the wrench for $15, it's a must have. I have gotten so quick at adjusting it I can do it in minutes between runs with a hot car at the track. Great product, well built, a very good buy. Patrick

    Good but tricky install

The flag bolt is not 18mm as instructed, it is 17.5 mm! I bought a new one at Ford and it was the same. If you work alone on jack stands, you can't torque it. I drove one week with a hand torqued UCA, slowly but surely. What I would recommend is to get a shop weld a stop for the flag about 13 mm under the bolt hole or get a 10.9 grade 14 mm over 120 mm bolt with its flange nilock nut. (I found it at, they have everything). Then the install will be much easier. Also, if you want to torque to spec the chassis bolt, you'll need an 18mm or 21mm crowfoot wrench in 1/2. Finally you'll need an adjustable wrench that opens at least 30 mm to adjust the UCA. On mine, the front of the UCA was not parallel to the back, there was a 2 deg. difference. As to the UCA, it works great and this bushing system performs as advertised in sound and harshness. That's what convinced me to buy it. Final point, my car is a 2005 and the stiffer UCA bushing transferred a lot of force to the old axel bushing. It cluncked a lot and I had to change it (that's a real pitta) for an energy suspension one. So, be ready for that. All in all, a nice project but be prepared and otherwise the instructions on AM site make you good to go.

Excellent upgrade along with the lower control arms

The upper control arm is a crucial piece in the rear end and having the pinion angle to be adjustable was the right choice. Lowering the car down the UCA adjustment was easy for the shop to get the pinion angle corrected. Along with my other reviews. There is no noise, no cabin vibration, and no vibrations at any speed. Its grip and rip along with the J&M LCA's. Do it right along with the UCA and the LCA's along with some good shocks and the grin on your face will go from ear to ear when you blast through a corner. I couldn't be happier with J&M's control arms that are reasonably priced and offer exceptional performance to name brands.

    Great Product!

Awesome product, excellent fit and finish, was worried about lack of bump stop, but no interference, Ford eliminated these on the stock UCA as well... Easy install, took about an hour. Rear end feels significantly tighter and no more clunking either!

    Top notch construction

I ordered the J&M double adjustable street upper and Extreme Joint lowers from American Muscle for my 10' GT500. J&M makes some top of the line products and the bushing are real innovation. I picked these because I didn't want added noise or vibrations from race type "rod end" LCA's and UCA. The extreme joint and three piece ball and socket type bushing that J&M uses is seriously sturdy but allows for a lot of needed articulation. I'm 100% pleased with these parts. As for AM, what can I say, the best in the business in all categories. If they carried more for my car, I'd buy it from them.

    The finishing touch

I had already lowered my car and installed an adj. panhard bar and JandM lower control arms. That setup greatly reduced wheel hop and improved handling in the corners but I knew that I still had to address the pinion angle with a new upper control arm. I decided to stick with JandM due to the 3 piece poly-ball bushing combination. I like their design because it gives the benefits of a spherical bearing without the possible harshness or vibration. I also installed their matching mount for the arm at the same time. I followed JandM's instructions along with some from AM. It is a tight fit and a little difficult working on the floor with jack stands but do-able. I felt the difference instantly. What little wheel hop I had is totally gone but the biggest change was in the handling. The back end use to jump and skip when really pushing hard, now its rock solid and totally predictable. I highly recommend both the JandM adj. UCA and mount to eliminate the last bit of movement and unpredictability from the rear end.
