More Power, Better Throttle Response. This easy to bolt-on Poweraid spacer from Airaid was developed to improve throttle response and to unleash the hidden low to mid range torque from your Mustang's engine, with tremendous torque gains seen between 800 to 2500 RPM.

Improve Fuel Economy. The Airaid Poweraid Throttle Body Spacer not only improves the power and performance of your Mustang, but with its unique “Helix Bore” design, it also maximizes fuel efficiency saving you money at the gas pump. The Helix Bore creates a spinning action to the incoming air to provide superior atomization of the air fuel mixture for better combustion.

Billet Aluminum Construction. CNC machined from the highest quality aircraft grade 6061-T6 billet aluminum the Airaid Poweraid Throttle Body Spacer is anodized in a red finish for great under styling and includes all the necessary hardware and instructions for a simple straightforward installation.

Ask a Question

How are the performance gains? Are there any HP gains in numbers? Like a Dyno? Will it serve good purpose on the track?

BanginStang Year: 2012 Model: V6

  • I haven't had it dynoed but I can tell you there really isn't much noticeable gains because there would need to be a lot more added volume in that area. To be able speed up the air a bit, and allow more air in there to help the engine breath better, you would need a larger/longer spacer. I had this exact one and the only real noticeable difference is the nice whistle it makes. Maybe there are slight gains but from my experience of having one, there's not much you can feel. A cold air intake with a tune will make real gains.

Will this fit if I have the BBK 73mm throttle body and Airaid CAI?

GaSouGustang Year: 2012 Model: V6

  • This TB spacer is designed to be used in conjunction with the stock throttle body only, not a larger mm aftermarket TB. Also, this spacer won't fit properly with the Airaid Cold Air Intake. If you already have both the BBK TB and Airaid CAI, my suggestion is to simply keep the set up you have!

    Throttle Body Spacer

Ive always had doubts on these because of the mixed reviews but I decided to give it a tryon my mustang because I trust anything AM offers and if nothing else i knew i would love the whistle. I am very pleased with this spacer, there is definately an improvement in low end torque, I can make it up the steep hill by my house now without downshifting and slamming the gas that was my real test and the added power is easy to feel in the 1500-3000 rpm range. The way i drive i cant really make statement towards gas mileage but i would suggest this as an easy bolt on for any mustang owner

Does not fit with Airaid CAI

I installed the Airaid CAI (sounds great with noticed performance increase). However, after I bought the TB spacer and I received the Airaid spacer I discovered it does not fit with the Airaid CAI. I discovered this while looking back at the Airaid CAI page. Unfortunately, the spacer page did not mention this. I thought it would work because the spacer page has customer images of aftermarket CAIs with the spacer. It turns out it is just the tight fit of the Airaid CAI. The JLT CAI will work with this spacer (plus JLT CAI gives 2 more ft./lbs torque with tuner). I told AM. Hopefully they will put a note on the spacer page. I got a refund for the spacer but had to pay shipping back.

    Sweet Sound!!!

It only took me about 30-40 mins to install and the sound difference with my new CAI is definitely worth it alone. I don't know if I've gained any more power from spacer by itself but it feels/sounds much different with the CAI on there as well, I definitely recommend if you like the whistle sound.

    Not a bad product......

Picked this up, because...with the price of gas, any gain in mileage/power for a decent price is worth trying. I drive from Ontario Canada to Columbus Ohio at least once a month so I'm always looking for ways to gain mileage....This product appears to have helped....I've gained(so far)at least 2-3 MPG, and I'm hoping it will continue to rise. For what it is...it would be nice if it was somewhat cheaper(maybe $15-20?) but I'm hoping that It will pay for itself, which it seems to be doing as I'm already using 1/4 tank less between Ajax, Ontario and Angola N.Y.

    Great sound

This product gives a great sound, but I have noticed little difference in performance or MPGs.

    Airaid Poweraid Throttle Body Spacer

I have shown an increase of 3 mpg since installing the throttle body spacer. I can't tell if I'v gained HP, there has never been a problem with acceleration with my 2011 V6. I have previously installed a CLC cold air intake and Bama Tunes.

    Great Buy

Roush RS, 6 speed manual, Installation Easy And Directions Precise, took 1 hour, have seen performance increase and throttle response. Have been paying attention to MPG and have seen 3 mpg increase, far as the whistle goes, does not seem apparent to me but the roush exhaust might be covering that up or I am not paying attention specific for whistle, ( I did install directionally as the instructions and stamping on plate said) This will pay for itself after about 12 fill ups, recommend to all. Power-aid TB spacer

After reading reviews about this product I decided I would give it a try. First off, the "whistle" sound is hardly audible. Of course this may also be the result of my stock airbox that I currently have on, so hopefully with the installation of my CAI it will become somewhat more audible. The spacer itself fit just right, the bolts as well. However, the breather hose that they included is WAY to small and will not go onto the male connecting parts. Luckily the stock hose does the job just fine. I did notice slight power increase. Not anything that really sends you further back in your seat, but there is a little gain. I would give this product more stars if it was not for those issues I listed. If I could go back, I think I would've spent my 120ish dollars on another part.

    minor mod

The torque may have gone up but was not really noticeable. It was no wear near the 21 ft lbs advertised on the package. I have hopes that it will complement future mods down the road.
