Restore Your Flywheel. If you're replacing your Mustang's clutch or just need to have your SPEC flywheel resurfaced as maintainence, consider a SPEC replacement flywheel friction plate. A SPEC replacement friction plate is designed to fit your existing SPEC flywheel perfectly, providing a brand new surface for your new clutch.

Better Than Resurfacing. Replacing your flywheel's friction plate is significantly better than resurfacing it, because during resurfacing the plate is simply "flattened" by removing enough material to create a clean, flat surface. There are a few problems with this - one, you're losing some of your friction plate to this process. Second, any damage that was done to the plate due to heat or stress isn't fixed. Replacing the plate is better than resurfacing to give you a completely fresh start.

Application. This SPEC flywheel replacement friction plate is designed for the 6 bolt SPEC flywheels for the 96-98 and mid-01-04 Mustang GT, which are SPEC part numbers #SF64A & SF64S.

Easy install. There are no torque specs for the bolts but 20 lb-ft seems to do good.Also this will fit a spec flywheel for a 5.0 fox body.

I had to replace my clutch in my pony and when i pulled the old clutch plate off i found out that the guy who owned my car before had installed a spec alum billet flywheel. It was much easier to just replace the old friction plate with this new one. Little bit more expensive than just putting a new cast iron one on from oriellys, but i have to say this was the right choice. The grip and performance gain is phenomenal! Thanks AM!

Well, let's all be honest, AM is the BEST mustang site on the web! Any questions you have send them an email and get a response in like an hour! That's customer service!
