What’s up everyone, Justin from AmericanMuscle.com, here with a cure to that mushy clutch pedal, and that sticky clutch cable on your ride. I’m talking about this adjustable clutch kit for all 96-04 Mustangs. Simply put, this kit is going to make your car shift like new again by replacing and reinforcing some of the crucial components responsible for getting your car into gear properly and smoothly. The first and most obvious part of this kit is the brand new fully adjustable clutch cable which replaces your old gummed up factory cable. Now over time your clutch cable picks up all kinds of dirt and grime, making for inconsistent pedal feel. As you can see this new cable slides easily, and without any effort whatsoever, and when paired with other kit components, makes for a smooth pedal feel and full adjustability. The adjustability I’m talking about is made possible thanks to this firewall adjuster. This part makes life a whole lot easier when it comes to adjusting your clutch, thanks to the fact that you don’t have to crawl under your car anymore to do so. The new clutch cable will run through this piece mounted on your firewall and simply by turning this knob you can adjust the length of your clutch cable. Now this will also give you much more precise control over your clutch pedal engagement point to better suit your style of driving. The star of this kit without a doubt is the Billet aluminum double hook clutch quadrant. Your clutch cable runs through this little piece bearing the brunt of all those hard shifts. Now your stock quadrant is made from cheap plastic which can flex or even break causing mis-shifts especially when using heavier duty clutches and pressure plates. This Billett aluminum piece totally eliminates the cheap plastic, and is designed to hold up to even the hardest shifts. Installing this kit requires you to remove your factory clutch quadrant and cable, although it’s nothing more complicated than removing a few bolts and snaking some cables, you do have to crawl underneath your car making it somewhat of a time consuming install that should take you a couple of hours.
