when u install the bbk adjustable kit ,where those do clutch cable hookup go,top or 2nd hookup?

        • This BBK Adjustable Clutch Cable, Quadrant & Firewall Adjuster Kit does come with a double hook clutch quadrant. You would be able to install the clutch cable on to either hook of this quadrant just so you're able to have more overall adjustability. The hook which the cable is installed on wouldn't matter just so long as the cable is adjusted properly.

Hi, I'm old school ( Chevy) and have never messed with a clutch cable system, so am I correct that after installing this BBK clutch cable Kit, I will no longer use the clutch pedal (as shown in my ford manual) to adjust the clutch on my mustang? Will I still have the basic pedal play as with most stick shift cars? Thanks

        • The BBK Adjustable Clutch Cable, Quadrant and Firewall Adjuster Kit will replace the weak plastic self adjusting quadrant with a non adjustable aluminum unit. This is combined with an adjust able cable and firewall adjuster to allow you greater control of the clutch pedal adjustment, and eliminate the weak point of the plastic quadrant. There should be minimal play when adjusted properly.

As clutch weed do I turn adjuster clockwise or counter clockwise?

        • You generally have to do it by feel once everything is installed. It's a matter of adjusting, potentially in either direction. for a comfortable and functional clutch pedal.

            A must have

I take my 03 mustang GT out every weekend to go drifting on the track. I love the quality of the product just as mush as the durability! The Chrome blue adjuster at the firewall cleans up the engine bay Perfect as well.

            Clutch cable replace

Snapped my cable one day when it was hot. Ordered this and was able to put it on myself, unfortunately I couldn’t get it adjusted right myself so still had to take it to the shop. At first your clutch feels impossibly heavy then after a few days it gets pretty normal, but overall it looks really nice with the billet and blue firewall adjuster.

bbk adjustable clutch cable and quadrant

okay im quite happy with this cable . however i was alittle worried after purchasing it have seen all the negative comments about the pedel being to stiff... and i to suffered the same thing. pedal felt like I was doing a single leg 650lb press. much to stiff to enjoy. I believe this cable is to long. and if you use the stock bracket or use the knew that came with the cable your going to get cable bind. I chose not to use either bracket but instead wire tied it something more directly infront of the cables pathway. now my pedal is so easy and didn't need gear oil or wd40 poured or sprayed inside the cable housing . I may however in the future relocate that bracket. but overall 5 stars and a happy customer.

Cable is junk, it was brand new, and moved perfect until it was hooked to quadrant, then it started fraying and unraveling, I mean after 1 push of the clutch it was so stiff you could not move the pedal. Quadrant is great, but bbk cable horrible

            For 98 V6

I wavered between a rating of 2 or 3. I bought this kit because my clutch pedal had an annoying vibration in it. The clutch had been replaced recently. The good: quadrant install went smoothly. I followed another reviewer's suggestion and removed the driver's seat, just 4 bolts, and got the old quadrant out and new one in without trouble. The less good: the firewall adjuster was too big for the hole in the firewall so I had to take a dremel tool and grind the hole larger. Would have preferred a warning on this. The bad: I had fit issues with the cable as well as a little fraying on the transmission end. I clipped off the fray in the cable and attempted to install it. The bracket that attached to the frame routed the cable differently than the stock cable so I levered out the new bracket and re-used the stock one. When I attached the cable to the clutch fork there were multiple problems. The end of the cable was too wide to fit in the channel between the small and large hole in the clutch fork. There was also very little room in the space where the locking nut tandem would seat. There would have been no way to adjust these without really levering the clutch fork out of the way. So I ended up using the stock cable instead of the new one. The best part: my clutch pedal no longer vibrates so I'm happy with that but feel the cable really should have fit better.

            Lube It

OEM cable was stretched or the self adjusting mechanism broke. Installed this kit and the pedal was so stiff it was almost undrivable. I unhooked it from the fork and pedal and lubed the cable, that fixed the stiffness. Pedal feel is great now. They should probably recommend lubing it or just lube it themselves.

            Newly installed adjustable clutch

Product worked as advertised, the custimization is great, feels solid. The quadrant is milled aluminum, which is nice. Would definitely buy again for any other car I would want to put it in

            Very stiff

I wouldnt recommend this product, I went ahead and made the purchase with mixed reviews and I should have listened more to the bad reviews because they were honest. the clutch is stiffer then before and very difficult to drive with.

            Best Bang for your Buck

Honestly the best bang for your buck. The quadrant is a superior upgrade over the stock weak plastic one. The adjustable cable gives a very wide range of adjustment that is perfect for most of your mustangs, and the firewall adjuster works amazing for fine tuning the clutch adjustment without having to keep crawling under the car! 10/10 would recommend!

            Don’t bother.

Don’t waste your time getting the cable. Just get an oem cable. It works with the BBK quadrant and firewall adjuster but the cable makes it feel like you’re lifting a fridge with your left leg.

            Good quadrant bad cable

The quadrant is good but the bbk cable sucks for cobra , way too stiff , too heavy , not drivable . Had to buy a maximum motor sport ford cable removed the bbk and installed the MM Cable ands it’s amazing nice and soft . After installing it I noticed a little 1/4 spacer that came with the cable to take up slack installed that and my clutch is feels hydrolic no Joke .

            2004 gt

The threaded rod end of the cable would not fit through the fork so I had to attach the nuts after the threaded rod was through the forks. This needed two people and it wasn’t easy. The quadrant needed a third slot for the cable because it was too short with the firewall adjuster. I ended up having to cut the quadrant deeper and I replaced the cable with a Maximum Motorsports one cable. Clutch feels and works great now.
