Better Launches. Your stock upper control arm isn't stiff enough to support all the power your Mustang puts down, especially when you're launching off the line. A J&M Upper Control Arm will help keep your Pony pointed straight down the track when the light goes green, giving you faster 60 ft times.

Improves Handling. Your stock upper control arm has a design that can result in sudden, unpredictable changes in handling, especially under hard cornering or acceleration. By replacing your stock upper control arm with a J&M upper control arm, you'll enjoy better cornering, quicker launches and eliminate the dreaded "wheel hop."

Industry Leading Design. J&M uses a unique 3 piece poly-ball bushing combination to keep their bushing moving freely under cornering but maintain stiffness under acceleration. The result? Your Mustang's rear end stays planted when you mash the gas on the starting line, but you don't experience wheel hop when cornering at the limit.

Premium Quality. This J&M Adjustable Upper control arm are made with 1.75" round tubing for superior strength and lightness and finished with a durable black powder coat. It features a one piece saddle style axle housing for strength and custom made pinion snubbers for superior fit and finish.

  • My preference has always been the adjustable UCAs, because of their ability to provide perfect pinion angle. However, this UCA will provide the same functionality as the stock UCA, albeit with significantly more strength.

    Rear Upper Squeak Arm

    Well, i have already un-installed this product. I noticed a slight difference in handling/traction, but it wasnt worth all the squeaking. It squeaks everytime you get in/out of your car, hard acceleration, hard braking, every bump, and the slightest uneven spot on the road. Spend the extra money and buy a different one.

    great addition

    this is a great addition to any mustang i own a v6 and i also added the matching lower control arms at the same time, and they make a great pair it rides a lot better and much smoother and off the line you get a little added jump that almost pins you to your seat and im shure if you have a GT it would, i would recomend you get the matching control arms and there at a great price! and if you get a proffessional to install them dont say "control arm" because they told me $300 intsall, then they saw the parts and said traction bar and then they said $100 so just somthing to keep in mind

    improvement but squeaky

    This upper control arm along with the lower control arms helped my lauches tremendously in my 07 V6 and I could only imagine how much it would help the GT's however they squeak sooooo bad every little bump they squeak squeak squeak but it doesnt bother me much because I crank up the radio and my exhaust note but if i turn the radio down and get the car in cruize the sqeak is all I can hear

    great first suspension mod

    here's a quick instruction sheet. jack up car and put blocks under the tires. or use ramps. you'll need a 21mm and 18mm socket and ratchets and breaker bar. jack up the axle near the driver side lower control arm as far to the back of the car as possible. that makes getting the axle bolt out and in easier. take axle bolt out first. remove the 2 uca bracket bolts under the car. loosen the one under the seat but do not remove. that will allow you to swing and lower the uca bracket so you can get both ratchets on the bolt. remove uca. install new one in the same order you removed the old one. remember jacking the axle just a half inch will pivot the diff so all the holes line up nice. that will save you a lot of hassle. also doesn't hurt to put extra wheel bearing (or preferred kind) on all the bushings. lube er up good! end result. i really don't know what to say. actually tightened the suspension. going over bumps doesn't hurt as much now. more control while drifting corners. still slight wheel hop while taking off hard but I'm sure with lower control arms that would be eliminated. a lot of hop was eliminated though. with that extra grease, not one squeak. great bang for your buck. another great purchase from AM!

    great puchase

    The upper control arm is somewhat difficult to install, especially using jack stands. I strongly suggest using a lift and air tools. It's very awkward to get to and get the proper torque on the bolts. It definitely helped stiffen up the rear end. I suggest replacing both upper and lower at the same time. Over all, especially for the reasonable cost, this is an excellent upgrade and I highly recommend it.

    trade off

    i did the lower control are first.. wonderful.. then the upper.. 1 hour labor at local tire shop to install.. no problem.. the wheel hop is GONE ! however, it does clunk noises now.. arrghh!! 2009 GT500

    J & M Really Makes a Big Difference on Launch

    J & M Upper Control Arm made a big difference over the stock control arm, during hard accelerations, on my 2007 Mustang GT. The directions provided take you step-by-step through the installation. It took about 1 and 45 minutes to do the complete install on the ground. The most difficult part of the installation is tightening (torque) the two bolts that go through the arm. The fit of the J & M arm is precise and you'll notice the difference!

    Launches smoother and straighter

    Got this installed and could tell the difference as soon as I launched the car. No more jaw rattling wheel hop and the car was much easier to control. I had this done at a shop, although the instructions looked very straight forward, I saw the two mechanics working on the car following the instructions pretty intently.
