    Review & Installation Video

    Review & Install Video

Hey guys, Stephanie with americanmuscle.com. I'm here with a review and install of the BMR Upper Control Arm Mount that's available for all 2011 to 2014 Mustangs. In this video, we're going to cover a few topics when it comes to this upper control arm mount. We're gonna look at the benefits that this offers, the materials and construction of the mount and the install as well. I can tell you right now that the install for this mount is easy. I'm going to call it a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, but we'll cover the install in more detail shortly. The BMR upper control arm mount is going to be something that you're going to want to check out if you've purchased a BMR Rear Upper Control Arm or you're looking into buying one, and you wanna make sure that the upper control arm can do its job to the best of its ability. It's always recommended to upgrade your upper control arm mount when you upgrade the arm itself, and this mount will make sure that the upper control arm that you spent your money on will be able to give you the most benefits possible. If we talk about the purpose of this upper control arm mount, we also have to talk about the purpose of the upper control arm to begin with. Keeping things general, the purpose of any control arm is to help with traction and to stabilize the rear by planing the axle and improving grip. This includes helping with pinion angle on lowered cars or drag race applications. So you upgrade the upper control arm, but then you have your strong after market arm that connects to the chassis in the stock mount which has the same weaknesses as the stock arm does. So if you're already upgrading your upper control arm, you really want to look into upgrading your upper control arm mount to eliminate all of the weaknesses in the stock setup that surround this area. Now if you're on the site you'll notice that there are a few upper control arm mount options and they're all pretty much the same. They do the same thing at the end of the day, and they have a lot of the same features and they're close in price. What I recommend here is keeping brands the same across your setup. So if you've got the BMR Upper Control Arm, I'd personally stick with the the BMR Upper Control Arm Mount so you know the items will work well together. This upper control arm mount has dual mounting planes which is a nice feature especially when it comes to those of you out there that are looking for improved traction during harder launches. The two different mounting positions will allow for instant center adjustment which will help the upper control arm provide better traction during hard launches. This mount is beefier than your stock mount is, it's made from a quarter-inch thick CNC laser cut steel plate for strength and it looks just as hardy as all of the BMR suspension products do. Of course, it's finished with powder coating to provide some corrosion resistance and give the product an even longer life. When it comes to price, you can expect to pay just over the $150 mark for this mount. Now there are some other mount options on the website that are a little bit less expensive, but I'll say it again, that I recommend keeping the brands the same across your setup. So, if you already have a BMR arm, I'd say go with the BMR mount. So the install here is really pretty easy. I'm going to call it a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter and you can plan on spending about two hours on the install. You're looking at pulling the upper control arm for the install since it goes in the mount anyway. You're gonna need to get the rear of the car in the air, but also remove the rear lower seat cushions so that you can get to the upper control arm mounting bolt. Once that's done, you can start working under the car. There are three bolts for the upper control arm and you can pull them out down with the arm itself. You're gonna want to grease the new, or maybe even the old control arm bushing depending on

Dual Mounting Points. BMR Suspension designed their S197 Mustang Upper Control Arm Bracket with two mounting positions which is perfect for changing instant center of your Pony's rear suspension.

Quality Construction. Made in the USA from 1/4" CNC laser cut steel plate for strength this Upper Control Arm Mount is completed with a long-lasting black hammer-tone powdercoat finish, and is designed to be an easy bolt-on using existing mounting holes, no welding or drilling is required. Can be welded into place if desired for additional strength.

Application. This BMR Upper Control Arm Mounting Bracket is designed as a direct bolt-on upgrade for all 2011 to 2014 Mustangs, including the V6, GT, BOSS, and Shelby GT500 models.

      BMR Upper control arm mount

This upper control arm works great with the BMR adjustable upper control arm. It feels solid, and it's a great foundation for the upper control arm. I would recommend this item for anyone that is replacing their upper control arm.

Critical for use with the BMR Upper Control Arm

You just dropped your hard-earned coin on a sweet BMR Upper Control Arm - UCA, why not make sure it works great now and in the future with their beefy, matching, mount? If you have a BMR UCA, these are an absolute must! They allow you to set the correct pinion angle, eliminate wheel hop and rear axle softness, and ensure the UCA stays planted in place. Spending a bit more is never fun, but performance is not cheap - how I wish it was! Don't shortchange your Mustang by leaving out the mount - this component is criticaland you will not be disappointing. Quality is typical BMR, which is outstanding.

      Mount

An upper control arm should not be installed without the mount to match from BMR. BMR makes great products at reasonable prices. Instructions come with all parts and are very easy to understand. Eliminate wheel hop and get that desired traction.

      A must have

This piece is a must when you buy the upper control are. This part is top notch and appears to be way stroger than the stock one. I think if your car is fast or going to be you have to have this part.

      MUST FOR LOWERED CARS

This piece is NEEDED, IMO if you plan to replace your upper arm, especially if you are lowered. Lowered 1" or more - top hole Else - bottom hole Install was easy enough, just make sure you have a breaker (and cheater) or a powerful impact gun to remove the top bolt under the rear seat. Upper control arm bracket

Considering the fact that i was in the process of upgrading my entire suspension setup, this part was essential. Being the 3rd connect point, why wouldn't you start with proper foundation. I also chose BMR's "incredibly stout" adjustable 3rd link to set my pinion angle as needed.

Solid product to compliment a BMR UCA

Getting this bracket is a no-brainer if you want to install an BMR UCA. This will help get the articulation correct for your UCA, especially for lower cars. Install was straight forward using jack stand and long socket extensions. Power tool or air tools make the job much easier.

A MUST buy if you install BMR upper control arms. I tried to install without the mount and the fit was suspect. Installed this BMR mount and the install became a bolt on.

      BMR REAR UPPER CONTROL MOUNT

Installed along with upper control arm and a polyurethane bushing on top of the rear end . I went from having upper 1.80 to lower 1.90 sixty foot times and now i am in the mid to upper 1.60 sixty foot times . No wheel hop at all . I highly recommend doing this setup for more consistent and lower sixty foot times and lower ETs . Thanks again for great parts , great prices , and fast shipping !

      Great part, install is tiring

Getting the stock mount off is a bit of a chore due to the upper bolt and the amount of torque it takes to break loose. Outside of that, this mount is an absolute must if you're trying to dial in your pinion angle. Works amazingly well with the BMR adjustable upper. Small price to pay for more adjustability and better suspension.

      GETTIN' HOOKED UP PART II

I purchased the BMR UCA mount along with the BMR non-adjustable UCA. Once you have unpackaged these 2 items it is immediately apparent the excellent quality like all the other BMR products I already have on my GT14. This with the BMR LCA's(poly/rod) and Gear change you get a planted feel that can only be experienced not in words but with a big smile. If you are thinking of dropping your Stang more than 1 inch I suggest going with the Adjustable UCA & LCA's from BMR. This bracket mount does have 2 mounting positions for the UCA, but for racing with radical suspension geometry mods or similar future mods the pinion angle needs to change depending upon (poly and /or spherical rod) type bushings and radical suspension geometry changes. All need to check out the BMR video on rear axle twist with stock U&LCA's. NVH is not that noticeable but remember you are replacing 3 twizzlers with high quality durable suspension components. Just accelerate and shift through the gears and nothing else will matter.
