Easy install.

Only tools needed are a 12mm 12 point socked and wrench along with a good breaker bar. No vibrations or extra noise at all. My Mustang seems more quiet and smoother when compared to the factory driveshaft,

Smooth, test drive excellent, piece of mind

First drive shaft install, went relatively smooth. Hardest part is getting old drive shaft out. Instructions were pretty straight forward. Recommend spraying old bolts with WD-40, 12 mm, 12 point short

Eith the purchase of his driveshaft, will I have to buy any safety parts? Safety parts like the BMR safety loop Is it likely that this driveshaft will fail, as the v6s have been known to do that

  • The only thing that you might, and I stress might, want to consider is a safety loop. But this really depends on how much horsepower you will be putting out. But for your V6 application, unless you are planning on putting out more than 500 horses, I don't think it is necessary. I hope this helps.

Does this driveshaft replace the original one on a V6 Premium? I want to get rid of the speed limitier with a new chip, so will this driveshaft go over 130 without distengrating? Thanks for your help!

  • This driveshaft has been over 130 and even 140mph in some cars with the elimination/deduction of vibration so yes. just make sure the tires are rated for those speeds as well and your set!

  • Yes Tho driveshaft won't break as easily as the stock driveshaft. It's Also a lot lighter, so your car will feel quicker off te line.

    Easy install.

Only tools needed are a 12mm 12 point socked and wrench along with a good breaker bar. No vibrations or extra noise at all. My Mustang seems more quiet and smoother when compared to the factory driveshaft, and my girlfriend agrees. Perfect fit and easy to install yourself. I installed my driveshaft with my car on ramps (front) and jackstands (rear). Very happy with this Aluminum drive shaft.

Smooth, test drive excellent, piece of mind

First drive shaft install, went relatively smooth. Hardest part is getting old drive shaft out. Instructions were pretty straight forward. Recommend spraying old bolts with WD-40, 12 mm, 12 point short socket or ratchet wrench, breaker bar. Installing new shaft was a breeze. Take your time. Gently pry at differential to free up end of old drive shaft. Old shaft slides out thru rear of vehicle. New bolts, 4 each are already treated with thread lock. These install on the transmission end. Use old bolts that came off differential end, clean them with solvent and use lock tite red, reinstall with new shaft. Tighten all bolts to 76 lbs. Done. Let lock tite dry, and test drive. Solid!

    This should be a prerequisite.

This driveshaft is a fantastic addition to my 2012 3.7L Mustang! Considering that the stock driveshaft is less than stellar, this should be your first upgrade on your V6! I had it professionally installed, and it took him less than 25 minutes to swap it out. It took longer for him to find his red loctite! LOL! I immediately felt a difference in the way the vehicle accelerated. It felt like the car had shed a few pounds. This Axle Exchange driveshaft is a quality piece. For piece of mind, it was worth every hard earned penny. It is a shame that it is tucked up underneath the vehicle. Note: The rubber flange part is installed on the differential side, and no need to reset the pinion angle.

    aluminum drive shaft

The drive shaft was delivered in two days.I took the car to the Ford store and they removed the factory driveshaft and replaced it with the aluminum drive shaft in less than one hour it was so easy they didn't even charge me. American Muscles price was 250 dollars less than I could buy at the Ford Dealer or the local speed shop. The difference in performance is very noticeable.Great product, Great service!!!!!! Wayne

    Piece of mind insurance

After reading about a few of the Ford drive shafts coming apart at high speeds I decided on this piece after reading many blogs recommending it as a buy. The install was easy, quick, and cheap. I combined it with the install of 3.73 gears.
