Description
Improve Traction. If you're not "hooking up" off the line then a set of J&M Rear Lower Control Arms are the answer to your problem. These lower control arms will eliminate wheel hop, and improve traction keeping your Mustang's rear end planted for straight-line traction and cornering performance. Superior Construction. J&M's lower control arms are manufactured from high strength 2" round steel tubing, making them lighter, stronger, and more resilient to bending than the competitors rectangular or square tubed control arms.

Bind-free Design. These control arms feature a Patent Pending 3-piece Poly-Ball bushing on the chassis side that incorporates a very hard inner polyurethane ball surrounded by two soft polyurethane outer cups. The axle side features a Chromoly Teflon lined spherical bearing that eliminates any unwanted bushing bind and deflection. The result is great traction during straight-line acceleration and predictable grip during hard cornering.

Application. These Rear Lower Control Arms are designed for street or race use on 1999 to 2004 Mustangs, including the V6, GT, Bullitt, and Mach 1 models. Does

not fit 1999-2004 SVT Cobra's with Independent Rear Suspension (IRS). Sold as a set of two control arms.

Great product, designed to put the power to the pavement

    August 26, 2013

Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH) is something that all car companies address when making a car. On the Mustang, many performance issues can be addressed by removing a part that the factory designed to make it a quiet ride with no harshness and replacing it with a performance part like this lower control arm. However in most cases decreasing the NVH will also sacrifice performance. By adding parts like this, you will increase the NVH a little bit, but you have to be willing to give up a little comfort if you want to go fast. This product allows you to put the power to the ground more easily by planting the wheels to the pavement. The increase in NVH isn't as bad as I may have made it out to be, but just so some people understand, your not driving a Mercedes. This is a muscle car, and if you're looking at this product and reading this review, then your obviously interested in making it faster. This is a relatively cheap way to help you hook and get out of the hole faster. The best way to achieve better 1/4 mile times is figuring out how to hook and get off the line faster. Not necessarily making a ton of power that you cant put down. You won't be disappointed with this product if performance is what you're looking for. Combine this with Upper Control Arms and you'll really feel the difference!

J&M Rear Lower Control Arms Roc!!!

    July 01, 2013

Had these installed along with the FRPP 4.10's from American Muscle to combine the labor. Was hoping they would help improve my 60' times at the track. Well, they sure did. Car felt like it was planted more on take up and the 60' times confirmed this. Very pleased with these LCA's from J&M. Would recommend to anyone looking for a upgrade over stock.

    J&M Control Arms

    July 01, 2013

The stock control arms on these cars are made for comfort, not handling. The rubber bushings allow for some much uncontrolled movement. Switching out to the J& M Control Arms makes such a huge difference. I also have the J&M Upper Control Arms, the Eibach Pro System Plus kit, and a Swarr Bar. This all makes the car so much more predictable and controllable. I plan on swapping out the rubber bushing where the upper control arm attached to the rear axle, switching to all Koni Adjustable Shocks and Struts and going to H&R Sport Springs to increase the handling capabilities of the car. Convertibles can handle with the right components. I also have the J&M CC Plates. J&M makes a good product.

    Unexpected

    September 26, 2012

Before installing these LCAs, I anticipated a good improvement with launches, a moderate improvement with lateral accelation, and a slightly harsher ride. I was definitly underestimating this product. The handling has improved immensely, and I feel much more confident pushing my car to its limits around corners. The ride is not harsher with the spherical bearings, and the overall ride quality is improved, I believe this is due to the old rubber bushings being very worn out. Bottom line, great product at a good price with unbelievable handling improvment.

    Great bang for the buck!

    May 20, 2013

I bought these J&M control arms because they seemed like a great value compared to the competition. When I got them, I was pleased to see the high quality construction and really nice welds. Another reason for choosing J&M was their innovative bushing design. These urethane bushings really tighten up the rear end of the car, while the center ball section keeps them from binding in turns. Before I had these arms I had horrendous wheel hop on hard launches. Now the tires stay planted, and the car goes straight instead of fishtailing. Handling in the curves is also improved. My buddy owns a shop, so I had him install them for me. I do 98% of my own work, but as I get older some jobs are better left to someone with a lift and air tools. It took him a fraction of the time it would have taken me with hand tools and jack stands. Everything fit perfectly with no issues at all. I highly recommend these control arms.

Great product and service from AM

    August 22, 2014

My car was stock height so I got these. My friend runs the same ones and says they made a big difference on his ride. They look identical to the MM and were a better deal so why not. I can't wait to install them myself in the next week. Thanks AM
