Aggressive Sound. Pypes Axle-Back features the Violator "Rude Sound" muffler that uses an internal louvered tube with mini sound deflector chambers that result of a unique aggressive sound.

Quality Construction, OEM Fit. This Axle-Back system from Pypes is constructed from high quality 409 Stainless Steel and features 4" rolled edge, slash cut, polished 304 stainless tips that exit in the stock location for aggressive muscle car looks.

great fit, I thought they would be louder. The tips should be longer so they come past the body of the car. Other than that they are good.

Review & Install Video

I’m Justin with, and I’m going to be breaking down Pypes Violator Axle-back exhaust for the 2005-2010 Mustang GT. Even though the Violator uses what appears to be a traditional chambered muffler design, much like your factory exhaust or even the Magnaflow street, but instead of this muffler being filled with sound baffles, which can actually keep your sound levels down, the Violator from Pypes actually includes some sound deflectors into the muffler design, which give you a very aggressive exhaust note. Those rude sounding mufflers are constructed from thick 409 grade stainless steel, and exit out of these dual 4” polished tips, which feature a very cool rolled edge and slashed cut for a unique, quality look. Since the Violator bolts into the stock location without any modification, getting everything installed should only take you about an hour using a basic socket set. Now let’s hear how Pypes Violator series axle-back sounds compared to our factory exhaust.

Will installing this exhaust require a tune? Is a tune recommended?

  • No tune would be required for an axle-back installation. Simply bolt on and enjoy!

How bad does it drone? I have an 06 GT with really quiet flowmasters on it and I was wondering how these compare to mine in volume and restricions. Mine are almost the same as stock, just a little louder. And I was wondering how bad do they drone at an idle and at highway speeds?

  • I have them on my 2005 GT, and when I got them I didnt realize I had a bad throttle body and they had terrible drone, but that was because I had a throttle body sensor failure. I got my throttle body fixed and I no longer have any drone! They may have some at first, but once they get worked in a little it will subside. Overall, I love their sound over any other pipes on the market!

I really like the sound of these for my next mod but I'm not exited about the idea of loosing low end. How much low end torque is lost on a stock car with CAI/tune?

    Pertty Derned Sweet...

I ordered 'em after a long thought process. Have the SCT tuner, using the 93 octane tune and JLT CAI on my '08 GT. Ordered the polished Violators. Arrived quick as is usual for AM. Not hard to install. Crawled under the car, and I didn't even need the jack stands. Ripped the Ford $h!+ off, and planted the Pypes system in about an hour. Had to lossen the clamp and slide one muffler back to make them both match. Didn't need the additional hangers. If you have any mechanical ability, this install is NOT difficult. Started her up. Not loud enough to annoy the neighbors at idle, but sounds great when you're cruising. Won't draw too much attention to you, but really makes the 'Stang feel like a proper 'Stang. When you get on it, it sounds great, and really took away that last bit of restricted flow feeling that the stock cans gave you. She feels nice and even all the way through the rev range now. I'm sure there's lots of nice axle back systems to purchase, but this one's definitely not something you'll regret, at least if you're not trying to be the loudest guy (or gal) on the block. The looks are spectacular, BTW. It's probably worth the few extra bucks for the polished ones.

    pypes violaters

I dunno what these people are talking about. these axle back system will unleash the beast in that 4.6. Shipping was not bad. I got them the same day i was leaving for vacation so i was inpatient and had a local shop throw them on instead of doing it myself. Of course they took there time doing it to get there money out of it. there is a slight drone first but now i put about twohundred miles on the system it gettin less and less. over all tremendous system for your buck. Pypes will see me coming back for all my exhaust needs.

    Awsome Vs Stock

Installed these puppies in less than an hour on my new 2010 GT. The stock hangers did just fine and everything lined up well with no problems. These are an aggressive street stock type sound and for most folks who don't want super loud you will be pleased. If you want to sound as if you just got off a race track then a muffler delete like the SLP Loudmouths are for you. I am very happy with the Pypes violaters!

    Awesome bang for the buck!

I did a lot of research before settling on the Pypes Violators for my 2010 GT. The mufflers sound GREAT, it was just what I was looking for...louder then stock, but not obnoxious. Its a smooth, classy sound. Considering the price, these mufflers provide the best bang for the buck in my opinion!

2010 GT Pypes Violator Axle-Back Exhaust

This product was an easy install, looks amazing. Had to play around with their fitment as far as the way the tips looked, but other than that the sound is pretty sexy. The best way to describe it is sick when first started, idles quiet, but beasty on the go! 5/5 Product, Will be purchasing from pypes again. Probably X pipe next.

Product is a good bang for the buck. When on a budget.

I was very excited to finally hear my Mustang roar up and down the road. Being on a budget and researching You Tube posts helped a little more. I am happy with the performance of the Pypes product, but not happy with the fitment. While the left side mounted just fine, the right side did not. If i had read just a few more of these posts i probably would not have made this purchase. I had to bend and force the right side away from the bumper cover so it would not touch. I spent alot of time manipulating its fitment, only for it to look like a "snaggle tooth" sticking out the back of my car.. Oh well, live and learn.. I guess I'll spend another $50. to $100. and take it to a muffler shop to cut up and reweld to look right.. Who ever is in charge of the welding and fitment of the right side muffler needs to be fired.. It seems like this is a common problem. So for anyone out there, just save your money and get the super expensive Flowmasters.. They seem to have a little more qualitiy built into them..
