Justin: If you're looking for an affordable way to crank the volume on your 2005 to 2010 GT or GT500 at home, then you'll definitely wanna consider the C&L Sport Axle-Back that we have here today. Now, the C&L will pack a full stainless build along with a straight-through muffler and massive 4-inch tips, all for right around that high $200 price point. Install's gonna be a 100% bolt-on job, but since all of your work is done underneath the car, site's automatically gonna nudge this one up to a soft two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. Call it a couple of hours to complete at most from start to finish as we'll demonstrate later in the video. But let's just jump right into the sound you can expect with the C&L Sport Axle-Back in place. And listen, this system is gonna offer a ton of bang for your buck when we're talking about overall sound.Strong, aggressive tone from the perforated tube mufflers, and one that I feel pretty confident in giving a healthy three out of five on my one to five or one to wake the neighbor scale. Now, if you did want something even louder but would prefer to stay in a similar price point, C&L also offers their muffler deleting axle-back, which you can also find here on the site as well. Now that sound from the Sport system really is made possible thanks to the small straight-through by design mufflers. Now, these guys, again, do feature what is called a straight-through perforated tube design, which basically is gonna pass through the perforated tube into the muffler's packing and then out those large tips here, shaping the sound in the process and, in my opinion, kind of taking some of the edge or the bite off this system that you would otherwise get with that muffler deleting axle-back.Now, of course, you are gonna be increasing your exhaust flow as well, thanks to that straight-through design, when we compare this to maybe a restricted factory muffler, or even a more tame chambered muffler design that you might encounter in the category. But aside from the straight-through muffler design, you're also looking at full 3-inch mandrel-bent tubing with the C&L Sport system. Does neck down a little bit here at the factory connection. Then finally, everything is gonna exit out of these large 4-inch tips, which are made from 304-grade stainless. And that's the most important thing, right? The rest of the system, not bad, 409-grade stainless, certainly a step up above your aluminized steel. But the cream of the crop here, the 304-grade, is reserved for the tips themselves. And that's the part you're gonna see the most, so that's the part you wanna remain looking good and corrosion-free for years to come, which is a solid bet with this full stainless system. Now, the C&L kit does include all of the clamps needed for your installation, which again is gonna be a 100% bolt-on job. And again, I really just wanna hammer home the fact that you are getting a pretty solidly built stainless steel system for south of 300 bucks, certainly one of the big takeaways for me for the C&L Sport Axle-Back exhaust. But let's segue into our installation as promised earlier. And to give you a better idea of just what you're in for in the garage or driveway, check out our detailed walkthrough and tool breakdown right now.Man: Tools for this install, an impact, a 15-millimeter socket, a 13-millimeter socket, a 5/16th Allen bit or key, an electric ratchet or a ratchet, and an exhaust hanger removal tool. We're gonna start by removing the clamps from our axle-backs so we can get our new ones on. Grabbing your 15-millimeter socket, loosen up your clamps located at the muffler. Now grabbing your 13-millimeter socket, remove the hanger from the back end of the Mustang. And there's one more 13-millimeter bolt right above the muffler itself, remove that as well. Now located towards the middle of your muffler, there is another hanger holding your muffler on. Take your exhaust removal tool. Now, after you get it off of that hanger there, your exhaust should pop right off. Ours is a little bit rusty. Now repeat those steps on the other side. Now, before we can get our new axle-back onto our Mustang, we're gonna transfer over our exhaust hangers. Once again, take your 13-millimeter socket and remove your secondary hanger. You will have two bolts. However, our Mustang just has one. Now, place that hanger onto your exhaust as well.Take one of your kit-provided clamps, place that onto your axle-back, and place your axle-back onto your exhaust. Now we can bolt our hangers back on. Again, this is gonna call for your 13-millimeter socket. Now we can take our exhaust tip and our clamp, place that onto our axle-back exhaust, and tighten down our clamps. Again, this is gonna call for a 15-millimeter socket. Now repeat those steps on the driver's side. Now with your clamps secured, that's gonna wrap it up for our review and install of the C&L Sport Axle-Back Exhaust with Polished Tips, fitting your '05 to '10 GT as well as GT 500.
