    Features & Details

    • Rich, Throaty Exhaust Sound
    • 3.5" Polished 304 Stainless Steel Tips
    • Fits 2005-2010 GT and Shelby GT500 Mustangs
Super Aggressive Exhaust Rumble. This SLP Performance Parts Axle-Back System eliminates the restrictive factory mufflers entirely from the 2005-2010 Mustangs, drastically reducing back pressure for enhanced power and aggressive sound.

Rugged, Durable Construction. SLP's Axle-Back system is made from 2.5" mandrel-bent 409 stainless steel tubing, which has excellent flow characteristics and features pre-welded hangers for simple installation. The hand polished, 3.5" dual wall tips give a show quality muscle car appearance to the rear of your Pony.

Application. The SLP Loudmouth Axle-Back is designed to fit the 2005-2010 GT, 2008-2009 Bullitt, and 2007-2010 Shelby GT500 Mustangs.

Technical Note: Americanmuscle recommends adding the 2005+ Mustang 304 Stainless Steel Exhaust Hanger Kit from the drop down option above, to provide more strength, stability and a cleaner installed appearance. If you have a 2007 Mustang you may need the kit for correct installation.

So to install I just remove the factory mufflers and installing the SLP Loudmouth Axle-Back Exhaust right? There is nothing else I need to do?

Will these fit on a 07 v6 that has the dual exhaust conversion on it?

    TreyLarimore

Hello, Ihave the SLP Loudmouth axel-back exaust(Love them!). But what else do I need to add to go even louder meaner?

    GeorgeW

    • If you are looking to make a little extra sound and get more tone from you exhaust, I will recommend investing in a new mid-pipe (X-pipe or H-pipe) which allows the lower portion of the exhaust to breathe easier. This will add an aggressive tone with a bit of volume since there is less restriction. I will also recommend considering an aftermarket header which will also allow for less restriction from the exhaust system while even adding performance gains. Please be advised that these exhaust modifications can create issues with your state emissions which can deem a failed inspection. Please consult your local/state regulations to confirm if these upgrades are applicable for your vehicle.

Will these pass California emission and smog test?

    MichaelK

    • The SLP Loudmouth Axle-Back Exhaust does not have a CARB EO number. We suggest checking with your local authorities to see if this would be legal in your state.

Are these pretty loud without off rd x pipes and long tube headers? And will they pass emissions in Atlanta ga ?

    John

    • The SLP Loudmouth Axle-Back Exhaust will be fairly loud, as they are replacing your mufflers with small resonators. These will not have any effect on vehicle emissions testing.

Is the exhaust noise legal for Pennsylvania state inspection as in not a true muffler?

    Loudmouth

    • PA State Inspection requires at least one muffling device to pass - since the SLP Loudmouth Axle-Back Exhaust eliminate the muffler, these would technically not pass.

Dual muffler delete 09 V6 - Extremely loud

Just had these installed with the pypes muffler delete x pipe kit and pypes high flow cats, sounds beautiful. Gives a deep throaty roar but doesn't give off that high pitched 4.0 sound anymore. Couldn't be anymore happier

      Amazing Sound

I have very limited mechanical experience and this was a super easy plug and play. The system fits right into the stock brackets. The sound is perfect, I’ve had plenty of people with the 5.0 that ask me what exhaust I have because they say they can’t get the sound that I have with this exhaust on my 4.6.

Definitely worth the buy if you want a loud and raspy sound. People will notice. I've had neighbors give me "wth" looks.

      Great sound good price...

Good price and adds a throaty sound to a stock motor... definitely makes you drive more aggressive, and not worry about MPG when shifting at higher RPMS...

      Yes

This is my 3rd set of slp from 3 different mustangs ive owned. Yes if you want to be heard and very aggressive these are the ones. I had borla atak on just to see the difference. Dont get me wrong, Borla sounds good but nowhere as loud or aggressive as these bad boys. Word of caution. Please put resonators on with these pipes or it will be loud and terrible. When you get off the gas at 5k rpm in 3rd on straight pipe and no resonators, the sound goes everywhere like metal banging on a truck. I have slp resonators with the slp axle back and it sounds like 1,000 Spartans doing a battle cry. Just glorious!

1 month review for this exhaust system.

Installation was fairly simple at about 1 hour. Fit and finish are excellent and the quality of the sound is also great.

Not much to these pipes but easy to install and nice polished tips look great. Makes my daughters V6 sound great, not a V8 but nice sound mixed with the Ford dual exhaust conversion kit.

      It's GGGGGGGreat

Excellent product. Solid manufacturing, fit to spec and easy to install (although we took ours to a install tech just for simplicity). Sounds fantastic, just what we were looking for with custom pipes. Loud without being obnoxious.

All others don’t compare to the loudmouth

Easy to install. Took me less than a hour to put in. I didn’t need to jack car up. The best sounding exhaust for the mustang. Makes it sound how it should come from the factory. Don’t waste your money on other brands this is the one. I had watched hundreds of videos before my purchase and glad I went “LOUDMOUTH”!

      Best purchase I’ve made

Out of all my Mustang friends, I’ve got the loudest thanks to SLP! Absolutely love these mufflers. Not much drone, whatever drone there is you get used to it and barely notice it anymore. I’ve got an 08 GT with high flow cats and SLP loudmouths, my buddy has a 2014 with long tubes, cat less X Pipe and Roush Mufflers and my exhaust is STILL alluded than his. My buddy worked at a Ford dealership in town and called me one day when I was on the highway (about two miles away which passed Ford) and asked if I was on the highway. I said yeah and asked why, he said he thought he heard my car screaming off in the distance! It’s raspy and screams in high RPMS, pops when you decelerate, but still is nice and low if you’re crushing smooth through town. By far worth every single penny!

      Amazing exhaust!

I bought this and an x pipe for my 2009 v6 so I could convert it to a dual exhaust and it sounds absolutely amazing! It’s not super high pitched and annoying like the V6 usually is, this Exhaust gives it a much deeper and much better sound! I love it! 5 Stars big time!

      WOW!!!

Absolutely sick sound with the addition of the BBK longtube headers and BBK off-road X pipe. SLP is definitely the way to go if u want to wake up a city block. Wish I would have went with the 5” set.

Just what I was looking for.

For too long I had my eyes on the Loudmouths but couldn’t justify a “set of pipes” for nearly the price of chambered mufflers. Recently I was able to purchase the axleback at a nice discount on Black Friday and will say that the quality of the material and construction is what you’re really paying for. These are more than just pipes to get rid of your stock mufflers. The polished tips look/sound great and the product bolts up nice and solid. A simple mod that’s quick and easy to install and worth every penny. After loosely bolting the system in place, it’s worth spending just a few extra minutes on the details before torquing all of the hardware. The tips can be aligned in relation to the rear valence evenly and to your desired length.
