Review & Installation Video

Review & Install Video

What's going on, guys? I'm Alex from americanmuscle.com and today I'm bringing you my quick review and breakdown of the Roush Unpainted Front Fascia fitting your '05 through '09 Mustang GT and V6. So in this video I wanna talk about who this is going to appeal to, the construction and materials, as well as the manufacturing process by Roush, what you should expect to be spending, and then we're gonna take a quick look at what's entailed to get this installed onto your car. Well, I'm gonna be giving this a pretty light to a moderate two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter and about a three-hour job, and I'll have a little bit more for you on that later. So if you're watching this video, no matter the motor or model Mustang you have, chances are you're likely in the process of looking to make a very big and bold and aggressive statement. And by getting into a different front fascia and installing one onto your car, it's gonna be a very inexpensive option in comparison to picking up a hood or, say, a body kit. So on the flipside, guys, if your Mustang was unfortunately involved in a front-end collision and you're in the process of literally putting the pieces back together, this might be a much more inexpensive and viable option in comparison to going down to your local dealership and having them price out a full clip, which I can probably guarantee it is gonna be that much more expensive than getting into an aftermarket set-up. Now additionally, if you're gonna be in the process of picking up a new front clip for your car, you're gonna see there's gonna be a variety of different options out there that could range from going from a GT 500 Front End Swap to a Saline Swap, or even a CS style. But the point that I wanna get across here is that with that legendary Roush name it's gonna come with a higher price tag as this is going to be a premium kit. So to piggyback onto that, if you've ever seen a Roush in person, owned some of their parts, or just taking a look at them, you're gonna know that their attention to detail and quality of craftsmanship is consistent throughout. Now, we're gonna see that Roush's manufacturing process is gonna be utilizing proprietary CAD data direct from Ford to ensure that you're gonna have a perfect fit every time. Now, we'll also see that this is going to be manufactured out of an AVS plastic-like material, which is not only going to be flexible but durable and tough enough to withstand anything you're gonna be putting your Mustang to. Now, one thing quick that I definitely need to mention here is that this kit is going to ship unpainted, and a really good suggestion that I have for you is gonna be to have this sent directly to a body shop as it's really great idea to let the professionals have their way with this as if you're gonna be buying this, you're likely gonna have it painted. So in terms of the pricing here, guys, that legendary Roush name is going to come in at a higher dollar amount, as this is a premium brand and you should expect to be spending about $680 for this kit. Now, I will throw it out there that this is gonna be exponentially cheaper than going out and piecing together either a GT 500 Front End Conversion Kit or either getting into a Saleen kit. I will add that everything on the table will come included in the kit, it's gonna range from the fascia itself, shields, auxiliary lighting harness down to your fog lights, as well as the mesh skins, as this is going to be essentially a turnkey kit for the front end of your Mustang. So switching gears to the installation portion of the video, just like I had said up top, you should expect to be getting into a light to a moderate two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter and easily a three-hour job to get this onto your car. Now, again, I do wanna mention that this is going to ship unpainted and it's gonna be a great idea to have this sent right to a body shop just to ensure that all the prep work as well as painting will be done correctly as well as accurately. But looking ahead, a couple of things that I might suggest having on hand easily is gonna be a couple of drill bits, a basic socket set, maybe a case of beer, and a couple of extra set of hands to help get this onto your car. So I do want to mention that despite this being a pretty involved install, I'm gonna be giving you a quick glance at just what's entailed here. To start, you're gonna need to pop your hood, remove your rad cover, and then work down to the 10-milimeter bolts holding that on. And then you're gonna need to get down to your wheel well and start removing the clips holding in most if not all of the trim on the underside, pull out your turn signals and a whole bunch of other equipment here. All right, guys, so while it's much easier said than done, I'm gonna stick to my guns here and give this definitely a light to a moderate two out of three on the difficulty meter, and we would definitely suggest having this professionally painted and installed as it's gonna make your life that much easier at the end of the day. All right, guys, so just to wrap things up here, some final thoughts, I definitely like this option from Roush not only based on the fact that I honestly think it is one of the most aggressive looking options out there, but for the fact that this is going to cost a fraction less than swapping into a GT500 Clip or even getting into a Saleen S281. So that's my quick review and breakdown of a Roush Front Fascia fitting the 2005 through 2009 Mustang GT and V6 available right here at americanmuscle.com.

Is there anybody out there that has installed this bumper themselves how they got the turning signal lights to hold because there's no brackets to hold them

Joshua

  • Hello! For this Roush Front Fascia you will need to grind out the two rivets holding the turn signal lamp brackets on each side to remove them. Then using the supplied rivets reinstall the RH and LH turn signal brackets on to the Rousch Fascia. If you take a look at the installation guide write up we have provided, you can see the necessary steps needed to accomplish this.

Hi AmericanMuscle! All good? Could I ask you the following question. What is the Hood/Grille that your are using in your video? Part numbers? How does it function in heavy rain? Thank you for letting me know. Have a great week! L

  • Hello! The hood and grille used on the GT in that video are: Cervini's Ram Air Hood w/ Louvers SKU 389076 http://www.americanmuscle.com/cervinis-ram-air-hood-lovuers-0509gtv6.html MMD by FOOSE Billet Upper Replacement Grille - Black SKU 386672 http://www.americanmuscle.com/mmd-foose-black-billet-grille-0509gt.html We have not run into any issues with the Cervini's Ram Air Hood w/ Louvers in the rain, but whenever you have openings in the hood you run the risk of rain getting into the engine bay.

Can we use stock turning signals or do we have to purchase a different turning signal for this bumper

Joshua

  • The Roush Front Fascia is designed to be used with the stock turn signal lenses. It would not require different turn signal lenses to be purchased.

If you have to have a bumper, this is the one!

First off, I was torn between this and a GT500 bumper... the price of a GT500 bumper plus headlights, plus paint, labor etc, etc, changed my mind real quick/ The Roush front bumper is not that much of a price difference from the factory style bumper, but it adds so much character to your 'stang. The lights were a bit of a hassle, and even they they are plug'n'play, you have to drill through the firewall to finish the install. My Eleanor fog lamps can't be on at the same time as the Roush lights with the factory setup of plug'n'play, so I could do some wiring myself, but I have decided to go with the billet black grill from AM to get rid of the Eleanor lights. My body shop is world class with paint and did a great job and I love the look of my 'stang now. Worth the extra buck!

    Game changer

After a few months of debating myself, I decided to buy the Roush front fascia. The others I was looking at had a lot of extras to buy. I'm glad I did decide on this one. The only things that had to be done was paint and installation. That cost close to 600.00 dollars. The outcome was fabulous. It's definitely with the money. The guys at Jacks Body Shop commented how good this product was. If you're looking for a great looking fascia, this one's for you.

    V6 Roush Front Fascia

If you own a v6 a gt style grille wont work like it says in the discription. It has to be a Gt grille made for a GT. I know cause i wasted $180 on a gt style grille and my body shop said it wouldnt work. The only one that worked that i ended up using was the roush 9 bar billet grille. other than the whole grille ordeal my bodyshop said it was the best quality and slickest fiting bumber they ever installed. 5 stars. oh if you own a gt your factory grille will work. A (GT-Style) and an actual (Gt) grille are different. The tabs are in the wrong places on a gt style grille. Overall a 5 star product. v6 owners get the 9 bar billet grille!

This bumper cover fits great and looks great on my 05' v6 mustang. Installation was easy. I just wish it would have came with a whirring harness considering the v6 doesn't have stock flood lights in the grille. Other wise 10/10!!

    ROUSH Front Fascia

I took the bumper out of the box and it was in perfect condition. The lower fog lamps and braces were in it's own personal box which I liked. Then I took it down into Chicago to a place called jay&kay collision cause my dad know the whole family who owns it. It took about 2 days for them to paint it. I dropped it off on Thursday and it was ready by Saturday. Me and my dad got there at 8am, the. We went to the paint shop and this bumper was magnificent. Grabber orange in its prime, it was rediculously shiny. Then about 5 minutes later the mechanic came and started to work on it: to make a long story short, he put the bumper on and did the electrical all by himself. It took him 5 hours. FYI- U NEED TO DRILL A HOLE INTO THE DASH IN THE LIGHT PANEL FOR THE ON/OFF SWITCH. In the end, it was well worth the wait

    Awesome Awesome Awesome

I have wanted to do this build for a long long time and I finally pulled the trigger on it and boy I sure am glad I did. I always thought the V6 front bumper cover really lacked appearance. This did the trick and then some. I got the front end painted for 250$ make your your body shop knows to paint the extractors the same color. The body shop I chose did not seem to understand that and I had to wait a week to get them . I had to purchase new bumper brackets, a splash shield because I have a V6, GT bumper and upper foam piece.and new fender liners and a couple nuts/washers from the hardware store. Most of that stuff I was able to pick up at rock auto and only cost less than 80$. So bumper paint and the parts needed you are looking at around 1,000 dollars max. little less if you are starting with a GT. Might add the chin spoiler later. for now its great. thanks AM

    Great product but pricey

Perfect fitting, if you have a v6, the grill wont fit, need a v8 grill. I think they should sell the fog lights separately for those who can't afford the full price if they only want the bumper.

    Awesome look!!

I added this Roush front facia after a front end collision last year. When I got my car back, it felt like I had a new vehicle. This definitely sets my car apart from the rest. The body shop manager was sure to let me know that this was a top-quality facia and fit perfectly the first time. The only downside is that you cannot get too close to the curb. I think there's about 4 inches of ground clearance. Overall, this is an absolutely amazing addition to my car.

    Roush perfection

I have always wanted this bumper. Had my local painter spray it and he did an amazing job. Taking off the old one and installing this one is no big deal. It just takes some time and having a buddy helping is a must. I did not use the wire harness that came witht the kit. I just unplugged my center fogs and plugged them into the new fogs. You cant go wrong with this kit. It totally transforms your front end. Feels like I have a new car. I love it!

    Great look with Roush bumper

I'm so glad I finally got this. I've had my eye on it for a while, but since I was stationed overseas I couldn't get it shipped over there. The body shop that installed my bumper did a great job! I didn't know federal law states all fog lights couldn't be on at once. Not worried, its all good. As longs as the lights are operational. Came with great instructions and were provided for the installers. Love the look and I'm getting great compliments on my car. The body shop was impressed with condition of bumper when I showed them to get an estimate. Also were shocked there were instructions and everything needed for installation was provided. Thank you

    Looks awesome! Takes two people

Thi is a great product. I love it! It took me and my friend about a whole day to do,. I strongly recommend having a buddy there. I don't know if i could of done it alone. just take your time and make sure your doing it correctly. A thing that bugs me is that ford doesn't use actual screw in the wheel well. they use plastic push clips that once you get out are impossible to actually hold the wheel well comfortably. I had to buy some more. This looks totally badass. I do say the panel inside the cab for the switch is a pain to get off to drill the hole for the switch. but after you remove your tire and wire it through it works perfect. I love it. Already getting looks and thumbs up.
