This is the Roush rocker molding kit that comes unpainted for the 2005-2009 Mustang. These side skirts offer a big way to make a change in the exterior appearance of your car. Whether you're looking for a stock replacement upgrade or for side skirts to go with other exterior mods, like maybe a front bumper or chin spoiler or a rear bumper upgrade. Or maybe you want to go with an entire Roush body kit but you don't want to purchase it all at once. Luckily, you can pick up the Roush pieces separately if you wanted to. The install for these is easy. It's a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter and you can plan on spending an hour or two getting these on the car. The first thing I will say about these is that they come unpainted, like the ones you see here on the table with me. So just know that these are going to ship to you unpainted. As of right now, there isn't a prepainted option. So just know that you will need to take these to your local body shop to be prepped and painted. I would recommend test fitting them prior to sending them out for paint, though, just to make sure that there aren't any issues. These are designed to have an OEM fit, so they should fit perfectly. Roush uses the Ford manufacturers' data to design these. And there is a certain level of comfort with Roush being that they also make factory components themselves. You usually end up paying a little bit more for Roush parts, but if you are looking for high quality with good fitment, then you're gonna be happy. These are made from injection molded thermal plastic. And that means a few different things. They are going to be light-weight, but also flexible, which is a great thing for side skirts like these. They are going to have impact resistance and a long life. They're also going to be easily painted, which is another plus. One thing I will say about these is to be careful if you have a lowered car. These side skirts do hang lower than the factory ones do. So you'll just want to be careful. You don't want to scrape these up on lowered cars that have a bigger drop. Now, I only have one side on the table with me, but the kit is going to include driver side and passenger side rocker molding and the hardware needed to get these installed. Each side rocker molding has two pieces. So you will have four pieces in the kit, a front rocker molding and a rear. When it comes to price, you can expect to pay right about $270. Now, keep in mind that you will have the body shop bill for the prep and paint work, but if you want this look and the Roush quality, most people think that it's worth it. There also really isn't much else in terms of side skirts or rocker moldings for the '05 to '09. So if you want a big change in appearance, you're gonna be looking at this kit. As far as the install goes, this is an easy one out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter. You can plan on spending a few hours getting these on the car. You need a few basic hand tools and a drill since there is some drilling involved. You're gonna want to make sure that the paint is clean and prepped before you install these. Your rear wheels will need to be pulled for the install. You'll pull the two fasteners that are in the wheel well and remove the pushpins in the bottom of the stock rocker panels. The stock rocker molding will then come off. You're gonna want to put adhesion promoter where the 3M tape will be. Install the supplied 3M strips where the install instructions say and pull a tab of backing off of the 3M. Install the W clips to the front and rear rockers. Install the rear rocker molding onto the car and then install the front. The W clips will engage and hold the molding onto the car. Install the pushpins into the bottom of the new rocker molding. You're gonna wanna check the fit of the molding before peeling off the backing off of the 3M tape and adhering it to the car. Next, install the two self-tapping rear-mounting screws into the rear rocker and through the body flange. Install the front rocker flange fasteners and reinstall your wheels. Now that's gonna be everything for the Roush rocker molding kit for the 2005-2009 Mustang. But you can always check them out more online right here at americanmuscle.com.
