    Review & Install Video

This is the Roush rocker molding kit that comes unpainted for the 2005-2009 Mustang. These side skirts offer a big way to make a change in the exterior appearance of your car. Whether you're looking for a stock replacement upgrade or for side skirts to go with other exterior mods, like maybe a front bumper or chin spoiler or a rear bumper upgrade. Or maybe you want to go with an entire Roush body kit but you don't want to purchase it all at once. Luckily, you can pick up the Roush pieces separately if you wanted to. The install for these is easy. It's a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter and you can plan on spending an hour or two getting these on the car. The first thing I will say about these is that they come unpainted, like the ones you see here on the table with me. So just know that these are going to ship to you unpainted. As of right now, there isn't a prepainted option. So just know that you will need to take these to your local body shop to be prepped and painted. I would recommend test fitting them prior to sending them out for paint, though, just to make sure that there aren't any issues. These are designed to have an OEM fit, so they should fit perfectly. Roush uses the Ford manufacturers' data to design these. And there is a certain level of comfort with Roush being that they also make factory components themselves. You usually end up paying a little bit more for Roush parts, but if you are looking for high quality with good fitment, then you're gonna be happy. These are made from injection molded thermal plastic. And that means a few different things. They are going to be light-weight, but also flexible, which is a great thing for side skirts like these. They are going to have impact resistance and a long life. They're also going to be easily painted, which is another plus. One thing I will say about these is to be careful if you have a lowered car. These side skirts do hang lower than the factory ones do. So you'll just want to be careful. You don't want to scrape these up on lowered cars that have a bigger drop. Now, I only have one side on the table with me, but the kit is going to include driver side and passenger side rocker molding and the hardware needed to get these installed. Each side rocker molding has two pieces. So you will have four pieces in the kit, a front rocker molding and a rear. When it comes to price, you can expect to pay right about $270. Now, keep in mind that you will have the body shop bill for the prep and paint work, but if you want this look and the Roush quality, most people think that it's worth it. There also really isn't much else in terms of side skirts or rocker moldings for the '05 to '09. So if you want a big change in appearance, you're gonna be looking at this kit. As far as the install goes, this is an easy one out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter. You can plan on spending a few hours getting these on the car. You need a few basic hand tools and a drill since there is some drilling involved. You're gonna want to make sure that the paint is clean and prepped before you install these. Your rear wheels will need to be pulled for the install. You'll pull the two fasteners that are in the wheel well and remove the pushpins in the bottom of the stock rocker panels. The stock rocker molding will then come off. You're gonna want to put adhesion promoter where the 3M tape will be. Install the supplied 3M strips where the install instructions say and pull a tab of backing off of the 3M. Install the W clips to the front and rear rockers. Install the rear rocker molding onto the car and then install the front. The W clips will engage and hold the molding onto the car. Install the pushpins into the bottom of the new rocker molding. You're gonna wanna check the fit of the molding before peeling off the backing off of the 3M tape and adhering it to the car. Next, install the two self-tapping rear-mounting screws into the rear rocker and through the body flange. Install the front rocker flange fasteners and reinstall your wheels. Now that's gonna be everything for the Roush rocker molding kit for the 2005-2009 Mustang. But you can always check them out more online right here at

Aggressive Roush Style. Give your Mustang aggressive race styling with a pair of Roush Performance rocker moldings. These side skirts will add serious attitude to any S197 Mustang.

Do these rockers hang too low for a 2006 on 20’s with 1.5” drop on all fours? I’m afraid they’ll scrape on everything?

Can you leave it unpainted? I have a Satin Black exterior so I would like to leave it unpainted like the original rockers from ford.

    • You can leave the Roush Rocker Molding Kit unpainted however, the Sun may damage the rockers since paint helps deflect UV light.

Does it come with both rocker panels or do you have to buy each separately?

    • The Roush Rocker Molding Kit - Unpainted for the 05-09 All Mustangs will come as a pair which will include both driver and passenger side moldings.

How much did you guys pay in your area to get these installed and painted for? Just wanted to get an average price point. Thanks

    • We do not have a specific listing of what this cost us to paint as this was done in a large batch, and was not priced individually.

      Nice addition

nice look for the pony. had a shop put it on/paint it. it was easy to go on. fit could've been a little bit better but overall I like the appearance. wish price was a few dollars less but worth it anyway if you want to get rid of the "plain Jane" rocker panels.

      For Meatier MT's

Jack's Rocker Panel Moldings work nicely with my new Mickey Thompsons. I'm running 30" x 12' on the back and 28" x 10" on the front. Tires fit nicely in the wheel wells and the moldings keep the mud off of the roof. LJ

      Made for it! Perfect fit!

Smooth, clean, and super easy install! Just don't rely souly on the double sided adhesive tape. Support your rockers with self tapping screws straight through the plastic into the sheet metal around the wheel well. Stronger that way and now you can just forget about them. Perfect!

Roush Rocker Molding Kit Adds 150 HP!

Because I have always thought it rather absurd to have the name of the most iconic muscle car in automotive history printed down the side of it, I decided to have the "MUSTANG" decal removed from my 2006 V6. And, since it has a chin spoiler from American Muscle, I wanted to have the rocker panels painted to give it a continuous lower look down the side and decided to buy the the Roush Rocker Molding Kit. The combination of the spoiler and new rocker panels makes it a much more beautiful and unique car. And, although it really doesn't go any faster, it certainly looks like it has at least 150 more horse power!

      Little work for big reward

I have an 05 gt and when i bought it there was a cervinis body kit on it with side exhaust i ditched the side exhaust so i need a new rocker panel. I looked around before deciding on these im glad i did. They were built really nice and only cost me 150 to get them painted install was very easy took maybe twenty mins a side. Only problem i have is with the ad and the pictures in the ad. They are a two piece design and the pics in the ad show a one piece and nowhere in the description does it say there is two pieces for ea side it does leave a joint line right where the rear of the door is so beware if u are worried about that other than that they r great wish they came with adhesion promoter for the tape

Perfect Fit! Look AWESOME! VERY easy installation! :)

I am extremely pleased with this purchase. The fit was perfect, the body shop had no problems painting these and was extremely easy for me to install myself. After getting the first side done the second side was that much easier to do. If you are considering having the body shop install these for you, DON'T! I promise it is very easy with the detailed instructions from American Muscle. THANKS

      Perfect Fit!

I have a 2005 Roush mustang with serial numbers. The car is a theft recovery and some parts were missing when I bought it, including part of the Rockers. I only used the pieces I needed from the kit. This car looks just like it did when it rolled out of the Roush plant in Livonia Mi in 05! The pieces fit PERFECT! Thanks AM for a another great product!

      Brilliant Rockers, but...

I got these for my 2006 v6 when the old rocker panels got knocked off and I had to replace them. Went on easy as you can imagine, but the double sided sticky tape to keep it flush with the body lasted about a day. Not a real problem but I think it would be best left out of the kit, then you can re-adjust the self tapping screws to keep the panels in check without the tape to get it right the first time.

Great fit and includes all necessary hardware required for the install. Installation was simple and very quick. Product shipped well packaged with each peice individually wrapped for added protection. And as always AmericanMuscle is awesome with their free 2 day shipping. I would recommend this product if you are searching for a fairly inexpensive, easy to installed and well manufactured exterior mod to give your pony that little something to stand out if the crowd. I definitely always suggest AmericanMuscle "great customer service, quality products, fair prices and quick delivers" Thank your once again AmericanMuscle for your great service!

      Roush Rockers ROCK!

Had no intention to ever replace the stock rockers but ended up finding a great deal on a set of Roush Rockers so I jumped at the opportunity. I'm glad I did as these look amazing and they really set the side profile of your vehicle apart from the rest! The install was very simple and every step of the install is very detailed. I suggest installing the rockers completely and THEN removing the rear tires to finish up the final steps as I don't find it necessary for any other portion of the install (didn't remove mine until the end and install was perfect!). Highly recommend this product to everyone except for those that lower their cars more than 1.5" as it might cause problems.
