Description

Improve Overall Performance. Installing a steeper set of ring and pinion gears in your V6 Mustang will get you into the power band quicker for more low grunt off the line and lower Elapsed Times.

Superior Construction & Precision Fit. These Motive ring and pinon gears are CNC cut from high grade 8620 gear steel, and factory lapped for precision fit. Each set is hardness tested prior to leaving the factory to ensure the highest quality.

Recommended Upgrade. Changing the rear axle gear ratio will throw off the calibration of your Mustangs speedometer, but a Ford Racing Speedometer Recalibration Tool is an inexpensive way to fix this issue.

Application. This Motive Performance Plus Ring and Pinion Gear set will fit all 1979 - 1985 V8 Ford Mustangs & 1986-2010 V6 Ford Mustangs equipped with a 7.5" rear end. A master bearing kit is recommended by most installers, especially on high mileage vehicles, see drop down option above. Technical Note. Installation costs will vary, but a good rule of thumb is between $250 and $300. Be sure to work with a reliable shop that you trust for installations. You can also save money on your installation labor by having your Trac-Lok rebuilt at the same time as your gears are installed.

Manual Tranny w/ 4.10\'s

Now I\'ve heard that 4.10\'s with a manual transmission are a bad mix. The gears, they say, would be too short. The Facts: 1st - Pretty short, but not too short. PULLS! 2nd - Pulls like 1st did with stock

    Manual Tranny w/ 4.10\'s

Now I\'ve heard that 4.10\'s with a manual transmission are a bad mix. The gears, they say, would be too short. The Facts: 1st - Pretty short, but not too short. PULLS! 2nd - Pulls like 1st did with stock gears 3rd - Surprising improvement 4th - Great for slaughtering traffic 5th - 2600rpm @ 70mph. Revs are a little high at freeway speeds, but in town, 5th is actually usable. If I did it all over again, I\'d might get 3.73\'s just because of the freeway revs, but I do NOT regret this mod. If all you\'re looking for is acceleration, 4.10\'s are the way to go.

    4.10 Gears (V6)

Got these installed and at first I was taking it easy on the car and began to wonder why I'd bothered getting the gears. Then I stepped on it and that was the moment I fell in love. The car pulls much better combined with the 7.5" Tlok.

    Amazing

These gears are awsome, I get so much acceleration in my first three gears now with only a little drop in mpg. This is a great product with Limited Slip Differential. Smokin them ricers all the time now. lol

    WOW

I have many upgrades on my 2008 V6 and this BY FAR is the best I have ever installed. Dont even consider 3.73s ANYONE. The 4.10s do not decrease top end, because you can rev up higher and they pull SO hard. Insulated with a lsd, cost me 271.26! Nice!

its a mess but worth it to install

Well i bought these and when i went to install them i noticed some problems. the number one problem was that the cross shaft pin absolutely has to be grinded down if you do not buy the posi trac diffriental. the ring gear is alot thicker than that of the stock 323 gears. another thing is that the recommended parts does not say anything about this. TRUST ME IT IS A MESS TO INSTALL BY YOUR SELF BUT WELL WORTH THE POWER DIFFERENCE. IT IS NICE TO SHIFT INTO FOURTH GEAR AND HEAR A BARK WITH BRAND NEW TIRES LOL AND BY THE WAY EVERY ONE THAT COMPLAINS ABOUT THE WHINING NEEDS TO CHECK THEIR BACK LASH ON THEIR CRUSH SLEEVE BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT CAUSES IT TO WHINE

    BREAKAGE

HAD THESE AFTER I GOT BACK FROM DEPLOYMENT IN JULY OF 09 AND IN DECEMBER THEY BROKE AND TORE THE WHOLE REAR-END OUT. SO IF YOU PUT 4.10'S IN, MAKE SURE YOU PUT IN GOOD AXLES, FORD RACING PARTS, AND LUBE IT UP WITH ROYAL PURPLE OR YOU WILL BE SITTING IF YOU HAVE ANY KIND OF MAJOR MOD WORK LIKE MOTOR OR FORCED INDUCTION LIKE MYSELF

    Absolutely terrible

took these to a shop to get professionally installed and they said the pinion thread was not right so they cannot tighten it. Probably going to have to return them and buy Ford Racing gears. Car is ripped apart right now and wont be able to drive it until I get something to put in. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

American muscle proves why they are #1

Well when I started this project I had many questions but American muscle's phone service is extremely reliable and helped me get everything I needed to make this rebuild perfect. I ordered my LSD, 410's, rebuild and fluids all through American Muscle and the price was perfect and the shipping was even better. I was like a young boy at Christmas when I saw my new toys at my doorstep so soon! The gears make a hugggge difference in the way the car jumps.. The feel is much better an people love to drive my little 00 v6.
