WIl this line fit my 05 V6? I have the pypes mid muffler true dual exhaust X pipe already, and im wondering if this line will fit my V6

JoeyD Year: 2005 Model: V6

  • If you already have the Pypes Mid-Muffler True Dual Exhaust with X-pipe, you don't need to purchase this kit. It is the exact same system only without the X-pipe. Only difference between the (2) is how they bolt up and the V6 system includes the required X-pipe for the conversion. Hope this helps!

2008 Mustang V6? I want to put long tube headers with a short catted H-pipe on my 08 v6. Will this cat back work?

Jelly Year: 2008 Model: V6

  • Yes. The h-pipe should match right up to this.

05 V6 With Ford Racing Duel Exhaust I just bought an 05 V6 with a Ford Racing Duel exhaust but i don't like that it has a chamber muffler and want to switch to a mid muffler system. Would this connect right to the X-pipe that came with the Ford Racing exhaust or would i need the Pypes X-pipe as well?

Sounds awesome, 100% satisfied... At first i was afraid it would be too loud for me to be comfortable with do to the M-80 strait-through mufflers but when i turned the key it was more of a deeper tone and more throaty... it still is quite a bit louder because my friends could hear me perfectly when i was about 2 blocks away... but definitely not too loud... perfect in my opinion, definitely worth every penny

    More power than I expected!

I paid a shop to install the system for me. This fit was a little odd and we had to do some tweaking of the pipes to get everything lined up just right. The install drama was quickly forgiven when I started the Pony up for the first time while still in the garage. The sound was incredible, mellow smooth and loud. I get a bit of a drone at about 2000 RPM. At 3300 RPM the car sounds its best, argressive, mellow and loud. I really turn at around 4000 RPM. The 4.0 had a Steeda CAI ordered from here, and now the Pypes mid-muffler kit with the XFM44 X pipe. I can feel the extra power over just having the CAI. The Dual pipes seemed to make the CAI work even better. The throttle response is greatly improved. The driving feels more effortless. I found I can get the tires to chirp in second gear now when I really get on it. For V6 owners you will need to add the XFM44 X Pipe, a set of muffler hangers and one band clamp (like the one you have at the stock Y, which you will reuse). I chose to have my mid pipes welded to my X pipe to eliminate the bands altogether.

    easy install, great sound, affordable

Install only took about 30 minutes on my manual 08 gt. Not counting the hour it took to get the stock exhaust off, WD40 is your best friend here. After having it on for a month here's my feedback; the sound is amazing, super quite for DD and loud and throaty under hard acceleration. Driverside fitment is holding strong but the passenger side seems to sagging about a half inch, need to get it fixed, but for about 400$ less then other competetive exhauts its a small price to pay. Thanks AM! Ill be back for more due to the great prices and fast shipping!

This system sounds pretty good once you get it on and adjusted. Fairly quiet at idle, but wakes up when you get on the gas. It took a lot of tweeking and adjusting to make it fit. The right side hung low and the left side was tight to the exhaust cut out in the bumper. After some tweeking and bending of the hangers it did fit, although it was too close to my driveshaft (I have a one piece, 4" aluminum driveshaft). After a week I have taken this system off and replaced it with the ROUSH Extreme system, which fit like a glove and sounds AWSOME

    Awesome sound

This is a great sounding setup for the S197, and it eliminates the dreaded drone between the 1500-2000 RPM range that is infamous with this car. I highly recommend taking this system to a good exhaust person as it will not fit worth a darn. The expert installers need to cut, modify, and mold this kit to work on your car. Ditch the band clamps and allow the expert to weld all fittings. Now the setup is perfect! I would do it all over again. No rattles and the system is solid. Even my tips are perfectly positioned and not sticking out to far, as others who chose the bolt in method have complained about. CUSTOM WELD IT IN or you will not be satisfied! It also seems to get louder after the first 1,000 miles, but I still want it louder. I will see how the long tube headers increase the sound in the near future.

    Nice Catback for the Price

My dad and I installed this from about 2pm to 8pm and that had to be the hardest part. Like others have said, the actual install was alright, it was just the fine tuning of the pipes to make sure they were even out the back end and that they weren't rubbing up against the gas tank. That part of it was very, very tedious and frustrating, but we managed to get the both of them looking good without any major problems and they do sound great. It isn't quite as loud as I would like them, but for $420 I can't complain. I went without the x-pipe for now but plan to buy it after I can raise some more money (I'm only 16 and money is scarce).

    Bang For Your Buck !!!

This is my 4th and last exhaust system. I had the axle back flow masters and ford racing kits. I also had the cervini's side exhaust kit. This Pypes Mid-Muffler Catback setup is by far the best exhaust system I have had for my 06 GT. I should of bought this system to begin with. This is the best stang bang for your buck. I ordered this on a Friday and received it on a Tuesday. Got it installed Wednesday at a professional muffler shop. They charged me $100.00. With installation fee's, this system is cheaper than most catback system's and well worth the money. You can't go wrong with this product. Thank's Pypes and American Muscle.
