So you just installed a new set of long tube headers or an aftermarket midpipe, and now your factory O2 sensor harness is a little too short. If that sounds like you, this O2 sensor extension kit is your solution. This kit for your ’86-’09 Mustang includes two harnesses that extend both your primary and secondary O2 sensor wires by 18 inches. That should be enough to bridge the gap between your factory O2 sensors and your factory harness. The great thing about this kit is that it’s completely plug and play, so there’s no need to hack up your factory harness in order to extend your wires. It’s a very straightforward install that should take you no more than a few minutes. If you’re pumped to install that new off-road x-pipe, or that new set of headers, only to find that your O2 sensors no longer fit, this kit will solve that problem easily without breaking the bank.

May fit the passenger side only
The O2 plugs post cat on my 03 GT are mismatched, and I suspect that is normal so the connections cannot be crossed from bank to bank. These extensions were identical, so they only fit the passenger side ( which worked fine for me, 'cause that's the sensor that had been moved ). I called support, and they advised that if you want these to fit the driver's side, you may have to shave off the plastic tabs around the fitting that mis-align with the grooves of the driver's side plug. Other than that, they were a direct and tight fit and left plenty of room.Helpful (1)

O2 sensors extensions
Absolutely a must have, either to plug in far O2 sensors or just to make it easier to plug into or unplug O2 sensors. Best-liked, needful, essential, well recommended even if you think you dont need it just buy it, wont regret it. Also $ low cost.Helpful (0)

Not a perfect fit
We believe these will work if we cut off 2 tabs on the male end and the female end is a tight fit.Helpful (0)

Another cases you do have to snip off the tips of each side to make them fit but in other words they're nearly almost impossible to snip together so the wire attaches to the other side because the clip is not long enough to attach it so you have to make a couple of modifications but in other words it does work for the O2 sensorsHelpful (0)

Nothing is perfect.....
Used these for the upstream sensors on my '06 GT. I had to trim off the alignment tabs on the connectors to fit, like the text in the notes mentions. I should also mention that the protective sheathing on one of the cables was worn through where it was bent in the packaging. No idea how this happened, but since I didn't have time to order another cable, I just put ribbed plastic tubing over both cables and called it a day. Plenty of length on the pass. side, just enough on the driver's side, with Py... long tube headers. No MIL's yet.Helpful (0)
Do i still need to turn off the rear o2 sensors if I use this with an off road a-pipe?
The check engine light will still appear as this would just be an extension harness so you can plug your o2 sensors up with long tube headers installed.
Do you still need to turn off your rear o2 sensors when using this with an off road xpipe? Bbk off road to be specific.
These will not remove the check engine light when doing an off-road mid-pipe since these are just an extension to still bolt up the o2 sensors.
I have an 08 GT w/ Kooks LT headers, Kooks catted H-pipe, Ford Racing Exhaust, Ford Racing Hot Rod Cams, Steeda CAI, and Dyno tune. My check engine light has been triggered since I had the car dynoed. The code is for the cats. I believe it is a false reading because the catts are high flow. The bama tune I had prior to getting it dynoed turned off specific functions of the computer to prevent this problem. Will these extensions keep the light off?
The SR Performance O2 Sensor Extension Kit is simply an extension so the harness will reach when the O2 sensors are relocated, such as with Long Tube headers, but this will do nothing for check engine lights..
Does A bad O2 sensor make the rpm flutter? And engine cut in and out
I have a 2008 GT500 and I was about to buy an offroad H-pipe and a set of MIL eliminators. However, I can't find MIL eliminators for my body style. These 02 sensor extensions are all I can find. Do they keep the check engine light from coming on when removing cats?
This is simply to extend the oxygen sensors on your vehicle when upgrading your exhaust. We do not carry MIL eliminators or any other piece to remove the check engine light.
MIL eliminators would be required. These extensions are designed to give additional length to the harnesses for applications with long tube headers where the O2 sensor has been relocated.
The SR Performance O2 Sensor Extension Kit will only be required when installing long tube headers.
The SR Performance O2 Sensor Extension Kit will be needed when installing the BBK Long Tube Headers.
You will only need one pair of the o2 sensor extensions when doing long tube headers.
Yes, the O2 Sensor extensions are necessary for an 04 Cobra running the Mac Pro Chamber.
The SR Performance O2 Sensor Extension Kit is used to extend the length of the front O2 sensors in order to allow them to reach the front O2 sensors, and will not have any effect on the Check Engine light. Depending on the year of your mustang, MIL eliminators, or a tune must be used to eliminate catalyst efficiency codes. It should be noted that when installing long tube headers, a matching brand shorty mid pipe must be installed for proper fitment.
These SR Performance O2 Sensor Extension Kit only work with most pre-2010 models and will not work on a 2014. To turn off the check engine light, you would need a custom tune to disable to o2 sensors. This can be done with a Bama Tuner with custom tunes, displayed in the link below: http://www.americanmuscle.com/2010-mustang-chips-tuners.html#shop-by2
Hello! Yes, the SR Performance O2 Sensor Extension Kit will fit your 2006 mustang.
The SR Performance O2 Sensor Extension Kit would work just fine with the Mac long tubes.
Hello! For an 08 GT, you will need a tune to prevent your check engine light from coming on.
