    Review & Install Video

So you just installed a new set of long tube headers or an aftermarket midpipe, and now your factory O2 sensor harness is a little too short. If that sounds like you, this O2 sensor extension kit is your solution. This kit for your ’86-’09 Mustang includes two harnesses that extend both your primary and secondary O2 sensor wires by 18 inches. That should be enough to bridge the gap between your factory O2 sensors and your factory harness. The great thing about this kit is that it’s completely plug and play, so there’s no need to hack up your factory harness in order to extend your wires. It’s a very straightforward install that should take you no more than a few minutes. If you’re pumped to install that new off-road x-pipe, or that new set of headers, only to find that your O2 sensors no longer fit, this kit will solve that problem easily without breaking the bank.

"Plug and play". When your modify your exhaust system, sometimes the stock O2 sensor harness just comes up too short to connect the O2 sensors, but this SR Performance harness extension kit will help bridge the gap.

Great for modified exhaust systems. If your stock wiring harness is too short to connect your existing O2 sensors to a new set of headers or a mid pipe, don't just leave the old wires dangling - because your car just won't pass inspection. Instead use a set of 18" O2 Sensor Extensions to make the connection a snap.

Application. This pair of SR Performance O2 Sensor Extensions is designed to fit on all 1986-2010 Mustang exhaust system configurations.

Please Note. The Extensions are intended for use to extend to upstream O2 Sensors; however, they can be used upstream or downstream if needed.  O2 Sensors are not included.

Technical Note. Removal of directional tabs on connector ends may be required for proper fitment on some applications.

I have an 08 GT w/ Kooks LT headers, Kooks catted H-pipe, Ford Racing Exhaust, Ford Racing Hot Rod Cams, Steeda CAI, and Dyno tune. My check engine light has been triggered since I had the car dynoed. The code is for the cats. I believe it is a false reading because the catts are high flow. The bama tune I had prior to getting it dynoed turned off specific functions of the computer to prevent this problem. Will these extensions keep the light off?

    • The SR Performance O2 Sensor Extension Kit is simply an extension so the harness will reach when the O2 sensors are relocated, such as with Long Tube headers, but this will do nothing for check engine lights..

I have a 2008 GT500 and I was about to buy an offroad H-pipe and a set of MIL eliminators. However, I can't find MIL eliminators for my body style. These 02 sensor extensions are all I can find. Do they keep the check engine light from coming on when removing cats?

I have a 2004 mustang GT and I’m looking forward to buying a BBK o/r x pipe, I don’t want the check engine light coming on so would these help or do I need MIL eliminators?

    • MIL eliminators would be required. These extensions are designed to give additional length to the harnesses for applications with long tube headers where the O2 sensor has been relocated.

I’m thinking of buying the slp loudmouth exhaust for my 04 Mustang got but was wondering if I would need these?

    • The SR Performance O2 Sensor Extension Kit will only be required when installing long tube headers.

I’m planning on putting BBK long tubes and catted H-pipe on my 03, will I need these O2 extensions?

    • The SR Performance O2 Sensor Extension Kit will be needed when installing the BBK Long Tube Headers.

Installed new x-pipe to find 02 sensor wires were short. For what ever reason the left front 02 wire as well as rear 02 wires were too short. Ordered from A.M. as they had best price. Got two sets to correct issue. Worked on rear 02 with no modification. Front tabs were in different spots. Cut tabs and plugged in wires. Works great and fixed issue. Thanks A.M.

      Just what I needed

When swapping my motor I missed unplugging one of the extensions. I got these for about half price of other stores. Got to me quickly and was as simple as plug and play.

      Great fit

This O2 extension kit appeared to be of good quality and the connectors fit well it's just that I ended up not using them. I installed a BBK x-pipe with high flow cats on my 2010 GT and saw that some customers needed an extension for their cars so I bought these as insurance. The last thing I wanted was to find out that the stock wiring was too short after installation of the x-pipe. Long story short, after removing one clip the stock wiring fit without using these extensions. Had I needed them I'm sure that they would have worked great.

      Needed to be broken

When i went to go install them, the little tabs were sort of the opposite of where they need to be. It couldnt even accept the factory plugs tabs. So i got a razor and cut off the little tabs. After that it clicked into place and saved me a check engine light. Really came in handy

Fits fine once you clip tabs off the sides

This item worked great just make sure the tabs on the side of the plug lines up or you cut them off as they are not really needed once pluged in.

Other than sanding the tabs down, they installed easy. Just zip tie the slack up and good to go. Would definitely buy more for the next build.

      Definitely required with long tubes

These were definitely required for the installation of Kooks Long Tube Hearders. I actually used 3 extensions, the 3rd came with the headers.
