Super Aggressive Exhaust Rumble. This SLP Performance Parts Axle-Back System eliminates the restrictive factory mufflers entirely from the 2005-2010 Mustangs, drastically reducing back pressure for enhanced power and aggressive sound.

Rugged, Durable Construction. SLP's Axle-Back system is made from 2.5" mandrel-bent 409 stainless steel tubing, which has excellent flow characteristics and features pre-welded hangers for simple installation. The hand polished, 3.5" dual wall tips give a show quality muscle car appearance to the rear of your Pony.

Application. The SLP Loudmouth Axle-Back is designed to fit the 2005-2010 GT, 2008-2009 Bullitt, and 2007-2010 Shelby GT500 Mustangs.

Technical Note: Americanmuscle recommends adding the 2005+ Mustang 304 Stainless Steel Exhaust Hanger Kit from the drop down option above, to provide more strength, stability and a cleaner installed appearance. If you have a 2007 Mustang you may need the kit for correct installation.

Do you get any extra horsepower out of this exhaust?

  • If your replacing your stock axel backs, you may gain 3-5 HP. But if you have other bolt on`s, you`ll notice a larger gain. Mostly, you will just love the exhaust note!

Will this product pass inspection?

  • The SLP Loudmouth Axle-Back Exhaust (05-10 GT, GT500) should not have any issues when it comes to inspection. However each state is different, please contact your state DMV for further rules and regulations.

What else do I need to put these on my 08 v6 mustang? I was thinking about getting a Pypes cat back exhaust system with out the mufflers and put these on. Are you guys selling any h-pipes or any materials that will let me use these? Dont want to buy from another site.

  • In order to use these SLP Axle-backs, you will need a conversion kit; we have two easy options for you! You can purchase the Pypes True Dual Exhaust X-pipe Kit, please see the link attached below. This kit allows you to reuse your stock catalytic converters and use any GT Axle-back of your choice. If you wanted a kit with high flow cats included, you could install the BBK True Dual Exhaust Conversion Kit, also shown below, and use the GT Axle-back of your choice. Hope this helps!

Wheres the resonator/muffler? ive used slp on my previous 00 mustang and i upgraded to an 05. just wondering where the muffler/resonator is on this kit? or is it a muffler delete? thanks in advance!

  • The resonator/mufflers are in the tips of the exhaust. Its not really a muffler, more of a toned down straight pipe

Hi, I've recently been looking at purchasing a new Mustang V6 that has the Ford Racing dual exhaust kit. I was wondering if these would bolt straight on to the kit, or if i would have to modify them a bit. Thanks, Jaden

  • No, this only fits 05 to 10 mustangs.

I am about to buy pypes long tubes and pypes long tube x pypes with these SLPs these are the slp 1s correct not the 2s? Also has anyone had this setup? Also plan on getting cams as well what set do y'all prefer and why?

  • Yes, these are the first SLP's. These are not the Loudmouth II's. This will be a unique setup that will sound very aggressive. The raspy X-Pipe with the deep SLP Axle-Backs will give your car a loud aggressive tone. The camshaft depends on the other modifications you have done to the car as well as what you want the car to be. If you only have moderate mods, you will want smaller lift and duration lobes. If you plan on getting a supercharger or turbocharger, you should look into cams with a large lift and duration. You can get in contact with one of your Mustang Experts directly by following the link below. This way we can find you the right parts for your specific build!

    Best buy for your money

Installed this last night on my 2010 GT and for two people who haven't played with exhaust systems before, it went pretty smooth. Had a little trouble lining up the driver side but passenger went smooth. The sound is amazing.

SLP Loudmouths are the meanest exhaust for a 05-08 Mustang period. At idle they sound mean. At cruising speeds they sound mean. At wide open throttle they sound like an animal. I have heard Mustangs with Borla, Flowmaster, and even Magnaflow and they dont even come close to the SLP Loudmouths. If you have a stock GT and your planning to add some high performance goodies to your car, then the SLP Loudmouths are the perfect start. I paid about $340 for them, but I would have paid up to $600 for them I am so happy with this product. and SLP are the best!

    2010 GT w/ SLP

Very loud when you step on it but I also passed a couple of police roadblocks with SLPs and they didn't say a word. It truly depends on how you drive. But even when it is quiet it really sound powerful and growly. I'm entirely satisfied with the sound, the delivery and how easy it was to install. I recommend this to any stang addict who'd like a muscle car tone.

    SLP 2008 GT

After doing extensive research into what axle back exhaust to get I finally decided on the SLP Loudmouths. This Truly brings out the sound of your V8. Not to say the stock mufflers were bad, but after hearing these things, I don't think I will ever go back. Before it purred, now it spits and pops. Once things heat up it really isn't obnoxiously loud. You can hear it faintly as you cruise down the road, but put your foot into it and watch out! You will not forget they are there! Install was easy. I didn't even have to jack the car up. It might be slightly easier if you do but it's not required. You will notice it is easier to put the SLPs on than it is to take the stock ones off. Alignment can be a little tricky. Make sure you don't tighten everything but rather have it lose so you can position things correctly the first time through. Steve McQueen would be proud of these!

I hesitated buying these because I thought they would be to loud, but I'm glad I got them. Not only is the sound just awesome, but it's not obnixious loud like I originally thought. Don't get me wrong they are loud but it's not to much. Chances are if your looking for an exhaust you trying to increase the sound and this is the one you need. Very raspy deep tone and I can tell you first hand it will turn heads. This exhaust will transform the attitude of your ride. Installation was a breeze, however it does take a little bit of time to get them just right.

    2010 Mustang GT

Just finished installing my Loudmouths. Installation took a little longer than anticipated because a couple of the exhaust hanger bolts were apparently crossthreaded from the factory. When I went to back the bolts out they were binding and I knew they were crossthreaded. Upon reinstallation of the bolts, they would spin out and could not be torqued down tightly. If this happens to you, a little Loctite Thread Locker will fix the problem. You may also need to grind a quarter to half inch off of the driver side exhaust tip hanger rod. The rod is a little long and will touch the rear bumber frame thus preventing the proper extension of the tip through the rear plastic fender exhaust cutout. Delivery was lightning quick - ordered them on a Sunday and received them Tuesday afternoon! The Loudmouths sound great !

At first i was hesitant about buying these, i thought they would be too loud inside the car and get annoying at times, but honestly, its not obnoxiously loud inside unless you have the windows down, and it has a great tone to it. I listened to so many youtube videos on this exhaust, but in real life it sounds 100 times better than any video can make it sound!

Just installed the loudmouth today. Had to wait eight days for shipping because I live in canada but it arrived hastle free. Install took around two hours for me, could be done in less for the experienced wrench man. It was easy and when I fired it up ohhhh man it sounds sweet. Just a note if your picky like me you should start with the drivers side first as it helps with alligning the fitting for the other side so they both stick out the exact length. Such a great product and really makes you feel like your driving a muscle car. Now I need more thanks AM

This product has a great sound.

The SLP Loud Mouth exhaust has a great sound if you like the old school muscle car sound. The install was easy and the fit and finish was excellent but I highly suggest the following the instructions and not tightening everything up till last for adjustments.

    Classic Mustang throaty Sound

I just got my SLP loudmouths and I am very pleased. The fit and finish were top notch. Installation actually took me about 2 hours but that was because I was interrupted about 10 times during the install. The hardest part of the whole installation was getting the old mufflers off. Once installed, the magic begins. The sound is absolutely gorgeous. I was worried at first because of all the online videos make them sound terrible. I can say right now that these videos do NOT do any justice for these pipes. While I thought the price was a little steep, it is nowhere near as high as other brands. If you are budget minded and looking for that old school sound, then worry no more. Buy these axle back pipes. You will be glad that you did.

    Extremely easy installation.

I listened to the online sound bites several times. I read most of the reviews and picked these exhaust pipes. The reviews were very helpful. I had to cut about an inch off the hanger on one side (as I had read in the reviews). I also followed anothers advice regarding connecting it all, but not tightening the clamps UNTIL I was satisfied with the alignment. GREAT PRODUCT, AWESOME SOUND ! I had a 2011 - 5.0 pull up beside me at a light and tell me that it sounded GREAT !

    Lovin LOUD

Well was not sure I wanted to go loud like Brick stated they would be. However I made the best choice by going with the SLP rocks the neighbors windows and my garage. Mate this up with the BBK 62mm throttle body and a Roush cold air intake..yeah this Stang turns heads and brings back the American spirit of pony power. If your ordering choose the 3 day shipping, it took seven days to get to Cali from PA.

Sounds great on my 2010 GT500

I read the reviews and thought these sounded good. I'm in my 50's but still want that power sound. I drive my car hard and enjoy it. This sound is perfect. Sounds great at start up, no drone at lights, and when the revs get high it sounds killer. Buy with confidence and enjoy. Took us 3 hours. Didn't even use the hanger kit. Don't forget to loosen the pipes up front to help align. Anytime you get a chance to delete mufflers is a great day.

    Excellent fit and finish

Very easy to install, my only problem was it wasn't really the sound I was looking for. I may end up replacing with the Borla cat-back exhaust. Although the Loudmouth was worth the money spent. I'm very particular so what I like in sound may not be what others like. The system sounds like its underwater when I fire up the engine. It could be characteristic of installing it ona 2010 Shelby GT 500.
