Description
Improves Handling. The most popular progressive rate spring in H&R's line-up, Super Sport Springs will lower your Mustangs center of gravity, to reduce squat during acceleration, body roll in the corners, and excessive nose-dive under hard braking. Sport Springs feature more control than that of the stock factory springs, but are still comfortable enough for daily driving and occasional track use.

Aggressive Stance. The H&R Super Sport Springs not only improve the handling of your Mustang, but they also improve the overall appearance by lowering the ride height to eliminate that nasty raised 4x4 truck look for a more aggressive muscle car stance.
  • Lowers 1994-1995 V8 Coupes: Front - 1.75", Rear - 1.6"
  • Lowers 1983-1993 V8 Mustang Convertibles: Front - 1.5", Rear - 1.25"


Recommended Upgrade. When installing new springs you should also replace your old worn out rubber Spring Isolators with a new set of Polyurethane Spring Isolators, see drop down option above.

Application. This set of four H&R Super Sport Springs are designed specifically for use on the 1983 to 1993 5.0L V8 Convertible and 1994 to 1995 5.0L V8 Coupe Mustangs.

Do I need any extra upgrades to install??? Would I have to upgrade my shocks and struts, Caster Camber Plates, Bump Steer Kit and Ball Joints in order to install these springs? I know it is recommended and I already have the Springs and Maximum Motorsports CC Plates that I'm going to install, but do I have to install the other upgrades?

  • At the very least, you should also replace your front and rear spring isolators with the poly isolators. Your factory set is more than worn out and the new set will last longer and prevent any unwanted metal or metal noises after installing your springs. I would also highly recommend the caster camber plates so that you can properly align your Mustang. Any drop over 1" needs the help of CC plates as there isn't enough adjustment available stock. This will prevent premature wear on your tires. Everything else you mentioned can remain stock without having any issues. Although, they would all complement each other for increased handling and performance! Hope this helps!

    low and slow

    The car corners like a dream, coupled with the tokico HP struts and shocks from american muscle i couldn't ask for more. the green picture is 2 days after install, expect a little more of a drop when springs settle in. Couple them with new isolators and you have an award winning combo.

    79-93 Mustang H&R springs

    This is the second mustang I've installed H&R springs on. First was my 09 GT500, now my 86 GT convertible. High quality product and the lowering amount is right on with what they advertise. As with any performance/lowered spring they are stiffer than stock and so you lose a bit of "soft" ride quality but well worth it. Thanks AM-good products, fast shipping.

    great springs

    i have always used iebach springs but decided to try these and they are great they improve the cars look by a lot and the handling is great i would recommend this product to everyone

    as advertised

    My car is lowered but not slammed, it did leave me wanting more lowering although im only a bit higher than a corvette. The ride is firm, sporty, and bumpy. Slight handling increase on stock suspension. You will need camber plates for an alignment, but thier is only slight bumpsteer, so a bumpsteer kit is not mandatory but recomended.

    H&R springs

    i installed these springs on my 88 5.0 convertible and am very pleased. The install time is not long at all except i replaced the hole suspension therefore it took an afternoon to do it. The drop was within an 1/8" front and back of what it was described to be. Great ride hugs curves pretty good. Definitely recommend these springs.

    Amazing suspension awesome ride and stance!!

    I was trying to find a spring that would lower my car to take away almost all wheel gap and be able to handle some track use on my fox body I spent a lot of time researching forums and looking at people install pictures, after long debate I went with the H&R super sports and couldn't be happier, the drop was just right and the spring rate is perfect nice and smooth daily driving but nice tight handling when needed the springs are easy to install just a jack and some jack stands and some basic tools and by my self was done in about 2 hours I am running 18x9 cobras all around with no issues only thing I would say to get is the adjustable camber kit.

    Bet for quality parts !!

    First time I install H&R Sport spring , and not the last ! The handling is amazing . The only thing i can say is they need to sitting a little to have the advertized drop . First time the car was on the floor ,it was just a little lower than stock spring but after a couple of days , the car settle and look way better than stock spring.
